View 8 RepliesVerizon Wireless now has a really good hotspot tethering plan for 4G phones. For $30/mo you get unlimited 4G tethering on your phone which is a bargain compared to the tablet plans especially considering 4G is 10x the 3G speeds. It makes we want to run out now and get a Samsung Charge so I can drop my 3gB Xoom plan. I'm going to stick with my Xoom data for now and hold out a three or four weeks for the Bionic. Hopefully Verizon won't change this offer before the Bionic comes out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use to be able to use bluetooth to access the internet over the cell network on the xoom with my old Droid X.I am also able to do this with my wife's Droid 2.On the Bionic I am not able to get it to work.Is this being blocked?I have wifi off on the xoom and Bionic like I have to do with the other phones, but I never get the bluetooth internet connection.I am connect to the Bionic via bluetooth but it never establishes the internet connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the update, the bluetooth tether connection seems to stagnate after inactivity and will no longer be usable. I have atempted to repair, disconnect, etc. in other words I have tried everything to reconnect after the connection to my phone stops working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUSb tethering And Wifi Hotspot are not working, a new local connection is made on my laptops, but no browsing is possible and in Win 7 just sets there trying to work out what network location to use.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased the AT&T tethering plan which appears to provide a Wireless Hotspot capability, but my company won't allow individuals to have their own wi-fi networks at work, so I would like to learn how to tether my phone to my laptop so that it does not create a wi-fi network, but only provides Internet access to my laptop. Is this possible with the new Atrix 4G?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was looking for a decent, non-root way of tethering my Nexus One's 3G connection. I was going to get PDANET, but i noticed that it was removed from the marketplace. other than that, there are no other ways (that i have found) that i can successfully tether my Nexus One with my iPad. Im not too keen in rooting my Nexus One only because it will void my warranty, but also because i "wont be able to receive OTA updates." Anyone else find a good way to do this without rooting? I personally dont think its fair that my unlocked full priced Nexus One is unable to tether because T-Mobile pressured android into doing so.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad my Desire for a while now, but just recently I have been working away from home and my laptop doesn't have wifi (I know, I should get a new laptop... but it works fine). I was wondering if I can use my desire a a usb wifi dongle?
My service provider does not like tethering, so I was wondering if when I share the desire's data connection it will use the phone's wifi rather than 3g connection? (obviously in an area where I have access to a wifi access point).
I've a xperia ray running on ICS. I'm having overheating issues. When I'm usuing WiFi tether the phones becomes very hot, it also becomes hot when I'm browsing or using heavy apps. What's the causes for this? is this normal and what is the max operating temp?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried resetting network settings without success.
I can connect to the laptop but DHCP doesn't auto assign the laptop an IP address so it cannot access the internet. Tried manually configuring the settings of the wireless card in windows using the same address assigned when connected via USB but it still doesn't work.
It states that subnet mask isn't compatable with ip address.
Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1
Whenever I start or receive a phone call, my tethered laptops lose their internet connection. They still show a strong wifi network connection, but cannot access internet sites. Nokia support and my AT&T store say this should not happen and does not happen on their phones. I have the latest update, as of yesterday.

View 3 Replies View Relatedfrom the Motorola Australia page:"We have an update for all of our Xoom fans. We have now submitted our final round of software to our carrier partners for testing. It will take two weeks for them to test. Provided there are no issues found during the testing, we expect to upgrade Motorola Xoom to Ice Cream Sandwich for both WiFi and 3G users on June 21st.About time they gave us a date. Now to see if they will meet this date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedConnected to WIFI at home, disconnect from WIFI to go to work and Xoom never get connected to 4G/3G/1X. I power off and power back on then it connects to 4G/LTE.
This happening consistently now.
It looks like LTE maybe weak in my area as I see one or two bars but it should have switch to 3G.
I have took part of the gingerbread update on my D2, and I wanted to also take part in the ICS soak test for my wife zoom.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm from Canada and I have the Xoom with Wifi only. I was able to connect to my home wifi network without problem and my signal strengh is like 75% so pretty good but when playing with the device (going on web, searching apps in the market, check weather, etc....anything that need to use my wifi to get to Internet, it happen often that even if I'm still connected, that it can't get to Internet anymore. At the begenning I was using the reboot option to fix this and then I saw that I can use the airplaone mode on and then off to drop connection and recreate it and then I just have to refresh the web page I am and it's working again. It can happen at ± 5 mins of Internet use.
I bring my xoom to my job and tested it and signal strengh is up the roof (router at my desk!), Internet is 10meg fiber and I get the same issue. I was gessing someone already reported this issue but I don't see it. Is it something known, what can I do to resolve this and is there a fix comming for that?
My xoom is stuck on 3.0.1, and will not update at all. It tells me update is available, but when I do it, it fails every time. This is a wifi only model, and I'm in Texas.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan the Xoom Wi-Fi be tethered with my phone for 3g internet. the phone is an HTC Hero with android 2.1?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android & xoom and being long in the tooth I am enjoying the up hill learning curve. I recently bought a LUVTAB soft case for the xoom which I liked and thought good value but later noticed that the magnetic and orientation sensors weren't working (androSensor app). It took a while to suss out that it was the case causing the fault. With the XOOM 90% into the case all is well, it isn''t until the Motorola logo at the top goes under the case lip that the sensors stop working. So the question is has anyone else noted this effect?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore the upgrade to ICS I had my WiFi Xoom set to turn off WiFi when put to sleep and restart it automatically when awakened. Now that it has been upgraded to ICS it doesn't do this - WiFi stays on. I can't seem to find out where to set it to do this under ICS. As a matter of fact, I can't remember how I did it with Honeycomb.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Xoom wifi only because I thought it would be handy to have a tablet that I can use to swap files between my pc and my device, and now I see that though there is an sd slot it's pretty much just a decoration at this point. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this thing to work, or when Motorola/Andriod will fix that? And yes, I do know there are apps that I can use to access PC files over a wireless network, but i wanted to be able to bring a few sd cards worth of movies with me on the road when i travel since after i fill the device up with music and apps there's not a whole lot of room left.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Xoom wifi and received the ICS upgrade yesterday. I've noticed that my wifi seems to drop out quite a bit even though it's the same setup as before the upgrade (wireless-n) in my home. No changes to the network and all other devices are working fine. Seems the Xoom keeps dropping the connection and re-connecting -- even when I'm online (such as with browser or email).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to see if anyone else is having this issue. My Wifi Xoom will not stay powered off. I tell Android to shut down and it does, but then immediately powers back on. Has anyone seen this before? I have sent the device back to repair 2 times now and I get it back and it is fixed for a day or two and then starts rebooting itself again! (Note: I'm not talking about random reboots, just when I try to turn it off. I need to turn it all the way off so I can save battery, can't charge every day).
