Whenever I start or receive a phone call, my tethered laptops lose their internet connection. They still show a strong wifi network connection, but cannot access internet sites. Nokia support and my AT&T store say this should not happen and does not happen on their phones. I have the latest update, as of yesterday.

I enable Internet Sharing, it create a Wifi hotspot, that I am able to get connected with my Laptop Wireless Settings. However When I try to run internet on laptop it doesn't work, as phone doesn't seems to be responding to Laptop Queries [as windows troubleshooter tell], but Internet web browsing is working within Phone browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 amp, iPhone 5 compatable USB adapter in my car. When I use this on my Lumia 920 it is charging very slow, 2-3% over a half hour. It charges an iPhone 5 rather rapidly. I could get by on my iPhone for the week and only charge only need to ever charge on my work commute.
If I run Nokia Drive is running the phone will lose charge while charging. Nokia Drive is no good if the phone cannot maintain power.
me and my brother use this nokia n8 for internet browsing, camera, and gaming.recently, i realized that the phone loses wifi signal when i hold it in landscape mode. when the phone is in portrait mode, the signal range shows 20-35%, but when i tilt the phone to landscape, the signal drops to 2-6%. it's funny when i'm watching videos on Internet, because i have to tilt my head instead of the phone and i can't use the advantage of the full stretched keyboard - with the tiny keyboard which is designed for one hand operation, i as a quicktyper have to correct every second word that i write.

I was going to get PDANET, but i noticed that it was removed from the marketplace. other than that, there are no other ways (that i have found) that i can successfully tether my Nexus One with my iPad. Im not too keen in rooting my Nexus One only because it will void my warranty, but also because i "wont be able to receive OTA updates." Anyone else find a good way to do this without rooting? I personally dont think its fair that my unlocked full priced Nexus One is unable to tether because T-Mobile pressured android into doing so.

My service provider does not like tethering, so I was wondering if when I share the desire's data connection it will use the phone's wifi rather than 3g connection? (obviously in an area where I have access to a wifi access point).

I got a data usage warning message the next day, so I made sure it was still connected to wifi - then I got another warning message advising me more charges were being applied to the data plan. I called ATT and explained and was told that the 4GLTE runs all kinds of stuff in the background that uses data and to turn the data off. I did - since then, no more data usage - however - it will not stay connected to wifi after a time out unless it is plugged in. It still shows that its connected to wifi but its not.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNokia lumia 1520 DP8.1 connected to wifi but unable to access internet. It shows the connection as "limited"
Other fact:
1. never had this issue in wp8.0
2. all other gadgets (laptop, note, galaxy tab) do not have issue with connection and internet to the wifi router at home
3. NL1520 sometimes have internet connection when connected, but I cannot tell the pattern (I thought it was limit of connection, but it wasn't).
4. If connect my laptop to router, and then make my laptop as an internet router(use Spotify for example), NL1520 can connect to laptop's wifi and ALWAYS have internet connection (this has been my work around solution)
5. NL1520 can connect to other router in public just fine, so only my router at home.. but fact the other gadgets has no issue, I assume it is NL 1520 issue
I tried resetting network settings without success.
I can connect to the laptop but DHCP doesn't auto assign the laptop an IP address so it cannot access the internet. Tried manually configuring the settings of the wireless card in windows using the same address assigned when connected via USB but it still doesn't work.
It states that subnet mask isn't compatable with ip address.

In fact, my v2 (silver) apple tv is more reliable than my 4S. Steps I've taken on the iPhone - reset network connection, reset iPhone, reinstalled iOS. Nothing works.
I have a cisco E2000 router, set to 2.4 ghz, N only, wpa personal only. No fancy characters in the password. The 4S will connect, then drops the connections after around 15 minutes.

So, the kids got this Xbox for Christmas. It is connected via ethernet cable and it works fine for them. The problem lies when they are on the XBox, almost no one else can connect to wifi, even if we were connected prior to them getting on XBox. Oddly enough, 80% of the time my iPad 3 can connect, but the 4 iPhones cannot (we have to 4S's and 2 5's). it is a nightmare here. We have to wait for the XBox to shut off and then reset the modem EVERY TIME we want to access the wifi. Then the whole problem starts over again when they get on the XBox. We use a Westell 7500 Modem. I only get XBox related troubleshooting advice.

For $30/mo you get unlimited 4G tethering on your phone which is a bargain compared to the tablet plans especially considering 4G is 10x the 3G speeds.It makes we want to run out now and get a Samsung Charge so I can drop my 3gB Xoom plan. I'm going to stick with my Xoom data for now and hold out a three or four weeks for the Bionic. Hopefully Verizon won't change this offer before the Bionic comes out.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently had issues with my Xoom where it often loses touch connection. When I touch and drag it suddenly acts as if I lifted my finger when I did not. It's almost like something is interrupting the touch. I've tried uninstalling everything, doing a restore, stopping services, restarting the tablet, but none of it has worked.This does not happen all the time, but happens often, most often when I first turn the tablet on or when I've been using it a long time. Imagine playing Angry Birds and having the bird fling itself when you've just started pulling back the sling shot. It's quite frustrating. Kidding aside it affects other applications as well. For example I can no longer draw dependably since my lines end up cutting off at unexpected moments.
My screen also has some kind of strange oily stuff under it when I press it. I thought these issues were due to my screen protector so I took it off, but the issues continue. It's been getting worse to the point where sometimes it does not go away for a while. Eventually the oily stuff disappears but when I touch the screen it comes back.
The internet connection on my 1020 is extremely slow when WIFI is connected (every other device I own is fine and can easily clear 30 meg download, 5 meg up.) When I use search, the phone screen times out and shuts off before returning any results (times out after 1 minute). I have reset the phone this morning to start over but the problem remains. The speed is perfect using Data and WIFI off, but once WIFI is enabled, the internet comes to a near halt.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSeveral times/day now my droid razr HD loses all connectivity. No wifi, no 3g/4g/1x anything. All the indicators are grey and I can't connect to anything. Usually what I have to do is go into airplane mode and then back out and then things are back. I can't say for sure but I thought there was a time or two where I had to do a power cycle to get things back. Not positive about that. I've only had the phone for a few weeks, and I'm pretty sure it's always done this.

I'm still connected to my router and can access things internal to my network (like my Sonos system or router), but can't get to anything external (such as pinging an IP address or doing a DNS lookup).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI believe that there is a problem with the Atrix network stack. When operating at home (Lapdock or HD dock or stand-alone) I prefer to use the local WiFi connection (because the cellular signal is useless for data here on the _9th_floor_ (thanks T-Mobile UK).
However:
1/ On its own the Atrix does not properly switch to _use_ WiFi- it tries to use either WiFi or GPRS/3G/HSPA from time to time. This does not work well (read the reviews that say that the Lapdock is slow and I think that this is the problem being reported);
2/ I installed Juicedefender which is free and which switches OFF the GPRS/3G/HSPA radio when WiFi is being used:
BUT - then I notice that the WiFi data stream stops after about 90s and only re-starts after either several minutes have elapsed _or_ I switch off and on again the WiFi radio. VERY POOR. Worse, on checking with my router, the ATRIX remains _connected_ to the WiFi network at all times - so this is the internal software losing contact with the active network interface.
