Press (heise.de/Security) has communicated a security vulnerabilty for Android smartphones. The vulerability lcoks the SIM card access from web pages rendering the telephony and internet access unusable . According to an update it also applies to sony smartphones. When will this be addressed?

Yesterday it was announced that Java has a security vulnerability that is actively being exploited by hackers.Security firms and homeland security are urging everyone to disable Java in their browsers url...Is disabling Java in our browers sufficient? I know I had to load/upgrade Java when I installed MotoCast.So, now I am wondering if the Java security vunerability affects MotoCast and if it does what should we do to protect ourselves?At present I'm inclined to completely uninstall Java since Oracle does not plan to release a patch for several weeks at least.Will this cause MotoCast to quit functioning?

Then it will take you to a phone encryption screen and the encryption reboots the phone, but then keeps looping. I do have an exchange account and our company requires to have encryption on the phone. I just installed the Nine Exchange and it is working without any issues, but how can I fix the other way I access email?

I realized that it is not working as the wizard process crashes closing before I can introduce my fingerprint. I thought that reinstalling Android through the Sony Companion would solve the issue but it is still happening.
My wife, that has the same phone from the same day, could configure a fingerprint without a problem. Can be a hardware problem that does not allow me to configure the fingerprint?
I cant change my WiFi security code. It is supposed to be as WAP/WPA2 PSK. But in my phone it is showing as WPA PSK. Is it a problem with my phone or with the WiFi connection? Please help me out. View 4 Replies View RelatedI set the trace a pattern security system for the phone. Later when trying to do two things at once I got the pattern wrong five times. I then compounded the problem by getting the succeeding attempts wrong as well until the phone locked me out. Like many others it seems I set-up my gmail account without recording the pertinant details, gmail address and password, these are the requirements to unlock the phone. The official X10 user guide is no help on the subject. I have also been to various websites looking for advice and have found no information at all, apart from don't do it of course! I went to a phone shop and their advice was to use PC Companion to reset the phone but of course I need to mount the phone in order that the software sees it. I am resigned to resetting the phone as the solution as I am backed up but even if I reset I will still need the gmail info to enable all of the Google features. I know it is the result of being a dufus but it seems like a bit of a terminal cul-de-sac at the moment.

I bought a new Xperia X8. When ever I checked with others they all said you can download apps from android market. So i thought i have to go to web address www.android.com/market and download my apps.But unfortunately I was wrong. I realised that is not how I should do and found that my phone came without Android Market app on it. where I can download Android Market app. Right now I have to use Third-Party android market which I do not trust completely, but I have no choice.
