Xperia Mini/pro :: Replaced Screen, Now It Has Black Lines On Top
Jun 21, 2012
I dropped my phone last week and shattered a part of the screen. The phone continued to work fine and I kept using for a week before I replaced the screen, following these instructions I found on this forum and using this part from ebay. Replacing the phone went pretty well. Now the touchscreen and other phone features work with the new screen, but the screen has black and/or green lines at the top all the time:
What problem does this look like? Did I get a bad part, or did I mess up while replacing the screen?
I also had one tiny little square rubber part on the table when I was done reassembling the phone, but all buttons are pressing normally and everything, besides the screen, is working. The part doesn't seem important, but here's what it looks like:
I recently had the LCD replaced on my iphone 4 this week. I keep getting blue/green lines on screen. I have to do a reset then it's fine until the next time also I have added a energizer charging case it seems that's when the lines started.
Newbie here with a brand spanking new Xperia 8.This may seem petty, but on the camera viewing screen there are two black lines down either side, similar to a widescreen TV broadcasting a show that is in a non-widescreen normal format.
I have convinced myself that I have done something to make this happen and that it wasn't like that at first. So my question is, can these be removed in some setting somewhere is this how it actually is all the time?
I have just purchased the Mini ST15i and each time my finger contacts the screen a fine blue lightening like line follows where my finger has touched. The line is present on all screens I select. Not sure if this is a phone fault or something I have accidentally set up while experimenting with the phone. It was not present when I first got the phone which makes me think it is the latter.
I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads. What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus? 2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
I Have just bought a replacement screen an digitizer for my blackberry storm as my screen has cracked. I took apart the storm connected up the screen an then screwed it back up. When I now turn the Blackberry on the back light turns on but the screen remains black. I tried the screen in another blackberry storm an the same thing happens. Is this an issue with the new screen or something else?
I bought a Nokia 5530 in Xtra Vision recently and I've been having minor problems.. First of all i was sending a message and the screen randomly went black and red lines came across the screen for a few seconds then it went back to my message .. Then I was charging it Good Friday and took it out to make a call and the screen went white as if I was turning the phone on as nokia came across the screen please help why is it doing this?
can anyone please help last night i noticed some small black lines appear on screen and now they have got bigger over night. everything was fine up until yesterday and they just suddenly appeared.
There are two black lines running across my main screen. It does not show up when I first turn on the phone though. Please view below. I'm quite new at this, any suggestions or thoughts/tips?
We have a Nokia 6720 which has developed a black line across the screen.By the way its just out of warranty, typically and yes I did name the file 6270 by mistake.
The screen on my iphone 4s has gone balck and sometimes comes up with blue lines, but I cannot get it to reset. I can still receive calls and can hear that the phone is functioning normally (ie. I can swipe the screen as I would normally do to unlock it and I can hear it unlock) but I cannot see any information. Is there a way to reset the display? I have tried holding down the power and home button for 10 seconds with no luck.
My IPhone started to crash in a weird way. When it crashes randomly, I see that the whole screen is black with few bright lines and then its turns off immediately, sometime I been able to start it but usually it starts again and crashes the same way again after few seconds or minutes. when its connected to electricity its usually working fine.
I tried the following: 1. Replaced to iOS3 , iOS4, iOS5 2. Replaced the battery twice 3. Replaced the power connector 4. Replaced the power adapter then changed the battery again.
When I replaced the battery it worked for a month before same thing happened again. I have to note that if I am not touching the phone at all, it will stay on till the battery will end. Nothing works! Its Apple I bought it for their reputation and I'm disappointed!
So today morning I got a call from one of my college mates. Phone started ringing and when I pressed the 'receive call' button, a message saying 'Android is not responding' appeared. I selected 'Shut Down' option, hoping that it would simply shut down the phone. Since then the screen has been black, not seem to respond to touches, only thing that works is a mechanical ringer volume button on the right side of the phone.
I have a question: I recently my Xperia mini pro (the internal name is K17) get back from a repair process. In this mechanical keyboard is repaired, the way the phone is about 5 months old. After I get back the phone, I've been updating it with PC Companion to the latest Android 4 ICS, which is offered by SE here in Germany. After the update I now have the problem that the phone at least once a day, usually several times the system or maybe the screen seems to freeze. Mostly it reacts no more (the screen stays black), sometimes you can press the power button and the lights of the back and menu button lights up (the screen is still black). Only removing the battery bring the phone back to work again. After a quick phone call to the Supporthotline from SE I performed again with the PC Companion a repair installation with the Android 4 ICS. This has not solved the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I fix it? Is this a hardware problem with the screen or is it the ICS update? Is there an official way back to the 2.3 Gingerbread Stock ROM without send in the phone to SE again and without losing the warranty?
4 months ago I bought nokia c6. But now the screen starts displaying some black lines, but the touch working properly. The touch is working good but the lines are displayed. But when I open the slider do not comes, but after closing the slider the lines starts in zigzag motion.
i bought a sony ericsson xperia x10 mini a couple of weeks ago, works fine but i was downloading live wallpapers from android store and there was one called DIY wallpaper and it made the lock screen look like an iphone one. so i installed it and it asked me if i wanted to change my home screen to the new one and i clicked yes, then my screen went black. I can use the drop down bar but if i click on a notifcation in there nothing comes up on the screen. I can see the start up screen and all that and the unlock screen it all works just no home screen. Ive tried reseting by holding lock button and home button for 4 seconds it resarted but it was the same i could only use the drop down bar.and one more thing, ive connected to computer but i cant get it to do the usb connect because i cant click it on the phone screen.
There is a constant green light on, the keyboard lights up, I can still answer the phone by guessing where to press on the touch screen, but the screen won't show anything.
For no apparent reason, the screen background changes to black and when it does this, I am unable to do ANYTHING at all.....I don't even get txt/call alerts. I tried installing the PC Companion to check for updates and altho it shows on the PC, it didn't register on the phone. I've just spent over an hour fiddling around with it and searching for a solution on the net and now it has suddenly decided to work!
I just bought an 02 mini x10. It's new and came into a sealed box. But first time I switched it on nothing appears on screen. Left it to charge for a whole day (charging indicator lits up) but still nothing. But when I turn it on, the boot music/sound comes in and also I can only see the screen when under sunlight. I can see 'Silent mode " and "settings" on the screen. But the phone switches down when I press on either.
My phone doesn't boot up. This has been happening since the last 2 days. The first time it happened, i used Update Service and updated the firmware to the new 4.1.B.0.587. The phone restarted normally after the update but the phone was very laggy. And after sometime, the same issue popped up. The phone would start up to the black screen. Again I used Update Service to do a factory reset and reinstall the new firmware. Formatted the memory card too. Again this issue is there.
I called up Sony Customer Care. They asked me to use PC Companion and repair the phone software. I did that too. Still no luck..
Being glued to her iPhone at all times, my Daughter has managed to drop her's in the bath. It now displays only a random collection of black lines on a white screen. Is it utterly broken? Or is there some way to fix it?
i got my iphone 5 screen fixed, and since then the screen this is what has happend and I can't use it. iPhone 5 completely black & white glow in the middle with pink lines vertically down the screen
I have a Xperia mini and it keeps periodically coming up with a black screen and unable to charge, also the speaker has gone really quiet so i can't hear calls very well.
I woke up this morning to find the screen on my Z2 to be very off colour with hundreds of horizontal lines consistently moving down the screen. I haven't damaged my phone in any way recently, why this is occuring.  I would put it down to a hardware defect, however when my phone locks itself and I go the unlock it, or if I leave it for a few minutes, the screen will be fine for a few seconds or so, until it gradually fades to a white, then pinkish colour with vertical lines, and then blueish white horizontal lines will begin to move down the phone until it becomes quite impossible to actually use it. I've also just noticed that the lines get much worse when I'm actually using my phone rather than just staring at it idly, so it must be touch triggered or something?  I've had this phone since around December after it replaced a lost one, and haven't had any issues so far. I would take it to the phone shop to get it repaired, but I know that will leave me without a phone for 1 - 2 weeks, which just isn't an option. I'd just like to know what the exact issue is before forking out £50 for a new screen.
my n97mini have a problem... sometime when i receive a sms,the screen just gone black... it happen after i unlock the key... the screen basically is black but the phone still functioning as can make phone call and receive call also... so far,the only way for me to get back the screen to work would be take out the battery... does anyone else have the same problem as me? just now was the 3rd time this problem occur... it does not occur very frequently... could b due to i does not restart the phone?
