how to remove black horizontal lines that are across screen?
View 5 Replies View RelatedNewbie here with a brand spanking new Xperia 8.This may seem petty, but on the camera viewing screen there are two black lines down either side, similar to a widescreen TV broadcasting a show that is in a non-widescreen normal format.
I have convinced myself that I have done something to make this happen and that it wasn't like that at first. So my question is, can these be removed in some setting somewhere is this how it actually is all the time?
I have recently notices black horizontal lines across the photos I take with the camera app. Have not tested this out with any third party apps yet.

i have been having issues with my bb 9900 with regard to horizontal lines appearing on the screen. how do i get rid of them?
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy BB has developed a problem that has worsened as the hours pass by. It started with a horizontal white line at the bottom of the screen and this has now developed to the whole screen having the same problem so now it looks like it has a kind of whitish mask over the whole of the screen. I have removed the battery and then put it back but this did not work. Tried to switch on and off and no change.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTorch 9800 in March around 3-4 weeks later I started having a number of issues:When my phone is in lock mode I tend to check the screen by pressing the call end button..... sometimes when I do this it leaves one band of a horizontal white line (about 1cm thick) that appears across the screen. At other times when I have done the same thing the message that appears when you check in lock mode is. 'Screen is locked. Press the lock button to unlock' but in stead of saying the itThe final issue I have had is when I am on an app say Facebook, I close the app and it still shows the headings 'Facebook' and 'News Feed' on my home screen page and to get rid of it I have to open the option tray.I have already taken it into my network provider for them to send it away and have it looked into but I have now received it back and the problem still persists
View 1 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find the screen on my Z2 to be very off colour with hundreds of horizontal lines consistently moving down the screen. I haven't damaged my phone in any way recently, why this is occuring.
Â
I would put it down to a hardware defect, however when my phone locks itself and I go the unlock it, or if I leave it for a few minutes, the screen will be fine for a few seconds or so, until it gradually fades to a white, then pinkish colour with vertical lines, and then blueish white horizontal lines will begin to move down the phone until it becomes quite impossible to actually use it. I've also just noticed that the lines get much worse when I'm actually using my phone rather than just staring at it idly, so it must be touch triggered or something?

I've had this phone since around December after it replaced a lost one, and haven't had any issues so far. I would take it to the phone shop to get it repaired, but I know that will leave me without a phone for 1 - 2 weeks, which just isn't an option. I'd just like to know what the exact issue is before forking out £50 for a new screen.
They are very thin and extend almost the width of the screen. I assume this is some kind of screen defect, but it's pretty subtle. I'm considering waiting until WP8.1 comes out so I don't have to redo my start screen with a replacement unit. However, extremely small screen imperfections and maybe if they are normal for fairly large IPS displays.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Moto X's screen keeps acting strange, at least once a week. The screen is full of horizontal lines, and i can't see much, even with the brightness at the highest. Sometimes it's for a couple of minutes, sometimes for at least an hour. This time, it's been way pas 2 hours. I need to know why it keeps doing this (See Images). I thought it was due to the sometimes high temperature of the phone, but even when it's at a low temperature, it might happen.
This is when the brightness is really low:

So recently I have purchased my samsung s6 but I dropped it twice. Unfortunately, the second time it was dropped it started blinking with horizontal lines. It still works but the blinking is kind of annoying. I already restarted it and turned it off but nothing works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a s2. About a month ago it started showing horizontal grey lines across the bottom of the screen. If I turn it off/on then they sometimes disappear completely and sometimes worse than before I turned it off. Following other posts on the net, tried turning my brightness up and if I turn it up all the way the lines never appear. The only problem is that I can't use the phone at this level of brightness. would be grateful if someone could post a fix. I kinda remember reading about screen tests you can do on the phone itself but can't find it again. Maybe if I could re-calibrate the screen that would fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I seem to unlock the phone on the side, or whenever i switch it on vertical /horizontal coloured lines appear on screen. I have tried firmware updates but nothing is working. I've bought the phone second hand, and had it a while, and have no recipet for it..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have this strange screen problem with my k850i, it doesn't go blank, but gets all fuzzy with lots of horizontal lines (very pixelated), you can still see the screen images, but it's difficult - and then all of a sudden it comes back picture perfect. I've updated all software, run a repair - everything I can think of. I can't figure out if it's a loose wire or something else.

I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads. What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
I have an Blackberry Curve 8520 and I would like to know that my phone left portion of the screen got white lines and then slowly half of the screen has gone white. I bought this phone on march 2011. So phone is under warranty and what should be done?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe screen on my iphone 4s has gone balck and sometimes comes up with blue lines, but I cannot get it to reset. I can still receive calls and can hear that the phone is functioning normally (ie. I can swipe the screen as I would normally do to unlock it and I can hear it unlock) but I cannot see any information. Is there a way to reset the display? I have tried holding down the power and home button for 10 seconds with no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy IPhone started to crash in a weird way. When it crashes randomly, I see that the whole screen is black with few bright lines and then its turns off immediately, sometime I been able to start it but usually it starts again and crashes the same way again after few seconds or minutes. when its connected to electricity its usually working fine.
I tried the following:
1. Replaced to iOS3 , iOS4, iOS5
2. Replaced the battery twice
3. Replaced the power connector
4. Replaced the power adapter then changed the battery again.
When I replaced the battery it worked for a month before same thing happened again. I have to note that if I am not touching the phone at all, it will stay on till the battery will end. Nothing works! Its Apple I bought it for their reputation and I'm disappointed!

View 14 Replies View RelatedI dropped my phone last week and shattered a part of the screen. The phone continued to work fine and I kept using for a week before I replaced the screen, following these instructions I found on this forum and using this part from ebay. Replacing the phone went pretty well. Now the touchscreen and other phone features work with the new screen, but the screen has black and/or green lines at the top all the time:
What problem does this look like? Did I get a bad part, or did I mess up while replacing the screen?
I also had one tiny little square rubber part on the table when I was done reassembling the phone, but all buttons are pressing normally and everything, besides the screen, is working. The part doesn't seem important, but here's what it looks like:
There are two black lines running across my main screen. It does not show up when I first turn on the phone though. Please view below. I'm quite new at this, any suggestions or thoughts/tips?
