Xperia Mini/pro :: No Internet, Update Server Always Busy?
Jan 23, 2012
Bought Mini Pro, unlocked it, as was it was on O2, my contract is with Virgin, but cannot connect to the internet on it, can text and send recieve calls, I try to update on my PC, it constantly tells me it's busy?
I want to update the software...have installed backup and restore and undertaken backup. Then go to to the software upgrade and apparently the "SE server is overloaded and I should try again at a later time". Hmm...it's been too busy for almost a moth..
My problem is next: after ICS update my phone (Xperia Mini Pro sk17i) unable to connect on mobile internet, but i can connect on wifi internet. Before ICS update, i used a application for APN control (APN OnOff -on market play), and application's settings remains "Off"- that means APN is turned off. I tried to solve this problem with some APN Backup application, but i cold not..
My Internet is not working It says "A communication failure has occured,The server may be busy, try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider." What do I do?
At least a quick browse did not give any answers to the following:If I enter a calendar note to my Xperia Pro, it does not appear in the Exchange server's (2007) calendar. The other way around it works. Contacts and emails sync, too.
Is Outlook somehow ignoring third party requests? How to fix it?
I had previously set up my mini pro to sync with my company's exchange server, first when it was running 2.4, and maintained the data when I upgraded to ICS.
It stopped working last week, so I erased the data and thought I could re-configure it again. However, no matter how many times I input the various settings, it still won't create the account.
Is this an inherent problem with ICS running on mini pros? Or is the manufacturer pushing me towards the bundled Moxier Pro app?
I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.
I just updated my Xperia Mini Pro, but after the update, a) new text messages appear at the bottom of the list of texts (so annoying!) and b) the newest text message does not appear on the list when I reply to it.Is this a bug? I really don't think it's a feature.
Just wanted to share my experience. I did the update on November 8. I didn't bother to do the backup. The only real important is the contacts and Google have them already. I used the Update Service tool and it worked like a charm. After restarting the phone I had to go through the setup wizard, which by the way is much improved. I now realized that I had lost all my downloaded applications. I downloaded them again from market. Most of them had all the old data, nice. Some games lost all history, no big deal really. My contacts, mail and calendar was downloaded from Google.
I realy like the fact that it is possible to send contacts by SMS. The images from facebook also works very well.
The one thing that I am still not used to is the unlooking. The habbit of pressing the menu button twice is had to kick. I think the new way with the slider is somewhat safer. Now I am waiting 2.2 with tethering. I hope this will be available for X10 mini some time in the future.
i have xperia mini pro and i've upgraded the operating system from 1.6 to 2.1 but after i did this upgrade i can't connect to the internet and every time i try to connect i recieve a message that says that ( couldn't download setting )
I bought My Xperia Mini St15i from Bangladesh 2 days ago....I connected it to internet yesterday,Used the net for 2-3 hours, then all of a sudden the "E" sign(EDGE) in the status bar disappeared and I cant access the internet eversince.......These are the steps that I ve taken so far-1.Used my SIM in another phone...The SIM is fine2.Used another SIM(of another operator) in my phone...No result3.Hav checked a thousand times for the points that has been stated by the sony ericsson internet access trouble shooting page here-ttp://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/mobilephones/troubleshooting/subject/unabletoconnecttointernetoraccesstointernetbasedservices/xperia-mini?cc=us&lc=en4.Hav updated the latest phone software5.Have configured my internet settings couple of times6.Have resetted my phone to factory settings twice.......7.Someone said something in the forum about Mcaffe interrupting the internet,so I uninstalled it.
Still no result.....,my friend has an HTC and there is a single option that instantly connects the phone to the internet in the "wireless & Network" settings,I have seen a similar option in some other HTC phones but although everything else is similar,my phone does not have this"Connect to the internet" option in the "Wireless & network" settings...
I have just bought my Xperia Mini Pro and I have not been able to establish an internet connection through WiFi. It will start and there is a connection, but no data are collected. Internet does not work, or, I must end WiFi, re-open it, then I have internet for maybe 20 seconds, then internet disappears although the WiFi connection exists. I have downloaded WiFi Analyzer and that says I am connected. I have downloaded WiFi Fixer, that ends the WiFi connection and reassociates, then I can connect to the internet for some seconds, and again it is gone. I have read many complaints about the poor WiFi connection these last days, as I am searching the internet to find a solution. Can anyone please help me? Does anyone know how to solve this? I have a HTC Legend that connects just fine with WiFi, no problems at all. If this persists, I have no alternative but to take the phone back.
I would like to know if I can use my Xperia mini pro as a modem to connect to the internet via my pc? I have done it in the past with my old Sony Ericsson, but just can't seem to get it working with this phone.
Have ICS .587 running on my Ray, but for as far back as i can remember, the phone annoyingly goes into screen lock if i dial a busy number.I've been unable to find an setting that disables this- how to get rid of the screen lock- it's annoying to have to unlock the phone each time i need to redial a number!
I just upgraded my mini pro to ICS, it works fine in the first few moments until I realized that my phone can't:
1. Show any album art/cover from the music player. I've tried using the Sony Media Go to add the album arts to the file properties, still it didn't work. Only the 'default' songs from the product i.e brett5000: Globalization, missquerada: Far from love, and 2 others, can display their album cover
2. Update songs. Any new songs that I put into my phone through Sony Media Go aren't shown in the music player, only the old ones are present (though I've deleted it). I found the files when I opened it using a file manager program from the Play Store, but when I played it, none of its properties are present except the title of the song itself. It's not even present in the music player
I've got DLink Wi-Fi router at home. All computers need only the key and connect to the Internet without any problem. But my new xperia mini wan't. It connects to the router, says: "Connected. Signal is very good." But it doesn't go to the Internet, says: "web-page is unavailable".
usual just after midnight however it kept connecting regularly last night whilst I slept. Havn't got a clue why can anybody suggest why or explain where I can see the exact websites the phone is connecting to. I've asked the network provider to suspend the internet connection till I get to the bottom of this.
whenever i go on Internet to watch a video on my sony ericsson xperia x10 mini it wouldn't let me. it sais that the protocol is not supported. it's the same story with any video clip on any website.
Whenever I click on the Android Market icon on my phone, the signing in to Gmail account does not go through. Also, I can't browse the Internet when using WiFi.
