I have a Mac, I can connect to my Xperia using it's hotspot, but that's where it ends. There is no transfer of data, no Web page will open on the laptop. I'm sure it use to work. I've done searches, tried going through settings on both mobile device and laptop with no dice.

Dropped the X8 and killed all but a postage stamp in the left hand corner of the screen.Stupidly no backups or syncs of my contacts anywhere.The sim phonebooks ok but will not show the data correctly on the borrowed samsung.
I would like to transfer the Sim data to the Sd card in the x8.The touchscreen still works even though I can't see much info,I can open phonebook.then in menu i see bottom three buttons as imp/ send/? there appears to be at least one above these.
I assumed imp to be the import button if I continue by selecting this I get a couple of buttons.export to / export to and I presume the bottom grey one to be cancel.However there at least one above these I cannot see. Perhaps someone could let me know the layout of these screen and which is the export to sd button.
Just a few minutes ago, my phone alerted me to have my files (photos and videos) to be transferred to my SD card. I did clicked it I thought everything would be alright. But then upon transferring my datas all the dates and times of the photos are all messed up I'm not sure what happened there, but I was confident that this wont be mixed up or something.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDon't fall in this trap and let the phone move data from internal memory to SD card to free up space as it can be interrupted for some unkown reasons and end up losing your data. ( Interruption in my case was screen auto lock i believe )It happened to me yesterday when it was moving the pictures and all of them are gone now.
I contact the customer care and they said to format the SD card What i found that the capacity of SD card increased and a folder called LOST.DIR was shown there..
I can not transfer data on the SD card . Error appears : " Transfer failed . Verify that the card allows data transfer " . It worked until yesterday..
View 8 Replies View Relatedseems a bit odd but my phone uses a lot of battery when i'm checking facebook, reading the first page of news updates and posting a status takes about 5% battery. i know setting the network mode to GSM only helps a lot but slows internet down and i hate waiting lol , so i'm just wondering if there will any improvments to this in future updates? 5% battery for 5 mins on facebook isn't spectactuar.

When I go to Settings -> Storage -> Transfer data to SD card nothing happens at all. No error message, dialog or notification appears.
I have seen what is supposed to happen form instructional videos.
I can see the SD card is present in the storage menu with approx 29GB free, and I can view the card in ES File Explorer.
Ive had my z2 for a day and my memory is at 75%. I've managed to transfer my photos and videos to the sd card but it won't let me transfer my music. It says "transfer interrupted. Check sd card for possibly transfered data"...

Once the internal memory starts to get full, it asks to transfer to the external SD drive.
As it transfers by MTP the timestamp of the photos and videos are scrambled and sometimes i cant even find the photos or videos.

I have upgraded from Z3 compact to Z5 compact. Nothing else changed. Since then the synchronization is almost impossible. The syncing process fails after 30-60 seconds every time. If I am lucky the current training session can be uploaded to the mobile after 5-10 attempts.
Bluetooth HCI snoop log was fine on Z3 compact but not on Z5 compact. Wireshark detected some inconsistencies in the Z5C's bluetooth log: it has been cut short in the middle of a packet. So I think the bluetooth connection drops very often during data transfer.
Trying to transfer all data from iphone 5s to Xperia Z5. it runs through the entire process fine but doesn't copy and texts/whatsapp msgs.
I've tried it on both usb connection and wifi. same result, photos/videos/call logs etc all fine but no msgs!!

Once the internal storage was awfully full and came a notification that said "75% full, transfer data to sd card" tried it like always but this time it fails to start. When I try to run it from inside the settings, also fails to start.

My wife has an LG G4 and the Portable Wifi hotspot is eating up our data.
I check all the hotspot settings and they are turned off and yet in data manager it shows that it has used almost 4 gigs of background data. On top of her normal usage.
I need to know how to stop this because this has put us close to our limit.

When I turn on the cellular data option the personal hotspot function bar appears with the wording "Personal Hotspot" and the wheel appears and goes around and around forever. If I turn the iPhone off and back on (with cellular data turned on) then the personal hotspot bar appears with the wording "Set up Personal Hotspot" and not wheel spinning. When the wheel is spinning I assume that processing is going on and using battery, not good! By the way I do not use the personal hotspot function.

I was always using on other phones with Android 2.2 FroYo that 3G mobile hotspot feature, which was included right in the Android system under Wireless Networks settings.Now in Defy there is no option like that under settings in FroYo. Defy includes own app called 3G Mobile Hotspot, which should work like that option for creating mobile WiFi hotspots in other Android phones. But here is the problem.On my older phone with Android 2.2 I could create 3G WiFi hotspot wherever I needed and it worked. But now, with Defy, when I use that application 3G Mobile Hotspot, it writes me error when creating WiFi hotspot "Cannot set up data link, please contact your service provider" I suppose it is something with my carrier (Vodafone_CZ), but when I used 3G WiFi hotspots on older phones (which had that feature included right in Android settings menu) it worked without problems and I a used mobile phone for 3G internet sharing with my laptop.Now I remember, that I have deleted some DUN profile under APN Internet profiles, could it be that problem, that 3G Mobile Hotspot app is not working?how to create WiFi hotspot on my Defy for example with some other app?Or if not, how can I use Internet Tethering in Defy Mobile Networks menu via Bluetooth (my laptot has BT).
