i just bought xperia z2 couple of weeks a go. After using wifi and mobile data without problem in Indonesia, now im having problem when using it in korea. At first it was okay, then i used it as portable hotspot without problem. Now thw wifi and portable hotspot cannot turn on at all. Its not on then off, it just like loading forever. And i notice my wifi mac address is unavailable.

I check all the hotspot settings and they are turned off and yet in data manager it shows that it has used almost 4 gigs of background data. On top of her normal usage.
I need to know how to stop this because this has put us close to our limit.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy issue may not be specific to the Moto X 2014, but it's the phone I'm using. I'm able to tether my Moto X to my Dell laptop and use the internet, no problem.
But when I turn on the portable wi-fi hotspot, give it a network name, set security to WPA2 PSK, broadcast channel (either 2.4 or 5 GHz) and give it a password (at least 8 characters), it doesn't work. My laptop connects, but there's no internet data.
Given that I'm able to share my mobile phone data plan with my laptop via a tether, I'm curious as hell to know why the hotspot feature isn't work.
I know my Xperia Pro can be used as a portable wifi hotspot by my laptop, but can the phone use it for internet too? If so, how?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was always using on other phones with Android 2.2 FroYo that 3G mobile hotspot feature, which was included right in the Android system under Wireless Networks settings.Now in Defy there is no option like that under settings in FroYo. Defy includes own app called 3G Mobile Hotspot, which should work like that option for creating mobile WiFi hotspots in other Android phones. But here is the problem.On my older phone with Android 2.2 I could create 3G WiFi hotspot wherever I needed and it worked. But now, with Defy, when I use that application 3G Mobile Hotspot, it writes me error when creating WiFi hotspot "Cannot set up data link, please contact your service provider" I suppose it is something with my carrier (Vodafone_CZ), but when I used 3G WiFi hotspots on older phones (which had that feature included right in Android settings menu) it worked without problems and I a used mobile phone for 3G internet sharing with my laptop.Now I remember, that I have deleted some DUN profile under APN Internet profiles, could it be that problem, that 3G Mobile Hotspot app is not working?how to create WiFi hotspot on my Defy for example with some other app?Or if not, how can I use Internet Tethering in Defy Mobile Networks menu via Bluetooth (my laptot has BT). Upon activating the WiFi hotspot on my xperia play stock .42My pc don't have an internet connection with both vista 32bit and windows7 64bit. I don't have any issue using the hotspot on my xperia mini.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got Xperia Z3 SO-01G Docomo. This is already got sim lock de-activation code. So, I can use it on Lte and 3G network (Dtac Trinet) in Thailand. Everything went well untill I have activate WiFi Hotspot feature. All devices (Sony Vaio PC and iPad mini 3) have connected to Z3 without a problem. But no internet activity was working. All devices could not browse internet, facebook not connect, etc.
So, I have had a seroius look at all aspects of phone networking. I found out that the APN setting which could be visible at all time when you look at, whether you are using cellular networking or not. However, when WiFi Hotspot activated, then the APN setting was blank and all setting was disable. All access points were vanish. Then de-activate WiFi Hotspot, all setting in APN page were back as normal.
When I turn on wifi hotspot, it is saying 'error occurred during tethering'....

Android OS.I first tried USB tethering but my laptop had no internet access, so I instead tried setting up a portable wifi hotspot to see if that would work. My laptop recognised the network I had created and I joined it succesfully, but I had no internet access. (Note: When I used USB tethering another network was recognised by the laptop)
I checked my phone and the 3g icon which shows that mobile internet is enabled (the two little verticle arrows with 3g above them) were not visible, but when I disabled the wi-fi hotspot, the icon appeared again. I'm not sure whether this is normal but could it be that 3g is being disabled with the activation of hotspotting, or is it just hidden automatically when wi-fi hotspotting is disabled? I find sometimes that the 3g icon disapears for no reason in areas I previously have had good signal, and then when I try and connect it takes a few seconds and then the icon appears again and I can connect.

I have had my sony xperia Z3 for a while now, but the wifi just recently stopped working anywhere. the wifi wont even turn on. I go Settings>Wifi>Wifi on and all it says is "turning on wifi.." and that is all it says. tried everything including factory reset and system updating using my computer. How can I fix this problem myself? Or will I need to send it to Sony to get fixed, or will Sony exchange my phone for me since it was nothing I did, and a problem with the phone.
The phone was no where near water before, or at anytime in at least the past 2 weeks and was not dropped. was sitting on my desk for an hour or so and when i pickd it up wifi had disconnected itself and wouldnt come back on.
I recently updated my mobile with a new software and whenever I try to turn on the Wi-fi it says "error". I did factory reset but still it's not working.
