I recently done the 5.1 update and followed it with a factory reset in order to get a clean install. Everything is running smoothly so far apart from SMS preview. Before my changes, I was able to read an sms, one line at a time as a preview in the notification bar. I must have missed something or been over cautious when faced with fresh settings as I no longer get this.

This was not happening on my previous phone, is this something to do with the new software update?

I was using Android KitKat (on Nexus 4) and I had a notification from the Alarm 2 hours before it rings (which also allows me to switch it off if I was already awoken for instance). View 10 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that, I cant preview any images or videos from file manager or any other storage. if I select the preview options like album, photos, MX player or movies it directly take me to the particular app & shows entire album pic n movies instead of particular Videos or images.
I faced same issue while select videos directly from whatsapp or any social network and I was Struggled to set DP in whatsapp, it directly take me to entire album photos instead of particular image.
And another issue is, if I click the new notifications from (Whatsapp, Line, FB etc) notification window, it take me down to the app start page instead of particular notification path/thread or to the particular chat.
How to get rid or fix this? (Android Build - 23.1.A.0.726 - D6502)
How this happened but my s6 has lost some of its icons from the tray like the private mode and data toggle. I have uploaded a screenshot of what I mean. I have no clue how to get it back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a Droid2 to a Droid3. My Droid3, when connected, via USB cable to my laptop (running Ubuntu) will charge (lightning bolt on the battery, etc), but no notification sound/icon allowing selection of USB mode. I have a cable I bought from the Verizon store. The same cable works with the droid2 still. I can swap from the droid3 to the droid2 and it would connect and my laptop would mount the sdcard (in usb mass storage mode). I have also tried at different computers at work. I had Verizon send me another refurbished droid3. It wouldn't connect either. Motorola Tier 2 tech walked me through the basic checks again, and had me do many combinations of turning on and off, and unplugging the battery, and factory resets to no avail. I asked the tech support to try it on one of their models and she said it worked there, coming up with a notification.
Next I went into a Verizon store, tested with a new cable and multiple computers there, and had an employee try with their droid3. Still no notification message with either of our phones! They said I should wait for update. I have 90days of warranty on this phone, should I wait for an update or maybe even ICS? or return it with hopes I just have seen three droid3's in a row with this problem, and they are not all like this? Or even possibly a different phone? (i like the droid 3 otherwise).
Prior to the GB update there was an option to trigger a Notification Sound only on receipt of the first email. Upon receipt of subsequent emails, the phone would remain silent. I cannot find a similar setting in GB.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI distinctly remember setting a separate ring-tone for one of my favorites. But then, out of the blue, her ring tone switched to the default. I was just trying to edit the contact. But when I select a new ring tone, it no longer previews. I can select one, but not have it play right away.
I tried powering the phone off and back on, but still cannot preview the ring tones. I played around with the "compose ringtones" option that makes a ring tone out of the phone number, but that doesn't work because it does it for each phone number for each favorite. So that I would have to memorize more than 10 similar ring tones. But at least I could press the play button and preview the tones. That tells me it is not the default sound playing app that is the issue.
I finally gave in and updated the phone because the shutdowns and restarts were getting ridiculous but now cant find / or access memory card no matter how many times i restart my phone or take the card out however the card itself is fine and works as i can put it directly in laptop and access my stuff on there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed now when attemping to message someone a picture that pictures I save offline aren't saving. It pops up saying that the picture has been downloaded and saved but then I go into my album and it's not there.
It came about because when I sent someone a picture, it showed on my end as the one I wanted to send, but they got something else, so I opened the picture to full screen and saw what they saw and it wasn't the picture I had sent them. So I went into the Album and boom, it wasn't there... but in messenger, it had it there for me to choose and send.
Also, there was another picture I saved and sent and what I saw, they saw, but again, going into the album, it wasn't there. And it wasn't even in the history of pictures saved... I don't know how this is possible?!
So I've searched online, plenty of information about enabling a passlock, so you can disable the 'SMS preview'. on my iPhone 3G it worked too, but on this new 3GS (OS 3.1.3) I have no option where I should for disabling the SMS preview. I've enabled and disabled a passlock many times, nothing appears. I can't have my text messages freely available on the screen for anyone who pick it up to read.
View 4 Replies View RelatedUpdated to ios 5.1 on my iphone 4s and now it is not possible to preview xls or rtf documents. My work auto-generates my schedule in these formats nightly and since the 5.1 update I can not open them. I updated my phone OTA, I have since reset it restored it and it still does not work. I have also retored from Itunes, it downloaded a 803MB file and restored again, but still no opening. When I click on the document it shows a white screen only, no error.
Did the 5.1 eliminate the 5.01 feature of opening these file types? PDF is opening correctly. What are my options? Can I request a 5.01 downgrade?

I have converted from iPhone 4 to the HTC Sensation. The only things I don't like is the message preview, I cannot find anywhere on how to change it so it doesn't display anything as my messages are private and I do not want other people seeing the first part of them. Ive tried a 3rd party app called handscent but didn't like it. Also is it possible to make message tones so the phone vibrates more than once?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought neo v on jan 14 2012.. After i bought it, the box seal was opened before me in the shop and the seal was fine. That time I dont know that neo v comes with a screen guard. When I came home and checked the contents of the box on the label there is a screen guard written on it. I went back to the shop and asked about the same. They said that the box was opened right before and we cant help it if it does not come inside the box. Is this the fault of sony ericsson or the shop keeper is cheating me?

The software prompted me to change the settings to MTP, after I changed, my Mac couldn't detect the phone. After I disconnected the phone, I found that many of my Apps went missing. Went to Google Play store to reinstall the apps, only to get the message "App cannot be installed in default location". My phone memory storage has been really low lately, about 30Mb left, and I haven't installed any new apps. I have moved most of the apps to my SD card, not sure what has happened.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to see Topgear live at the weekend. I recorded a few videos in 4k. After about the 3rd one I got the error up about camera over heating and would shut down if it continued to get hot, so I carried on recording until it did.
I then got the message that space was running low and would I like to transfer data to sd card, since I had a 64gb in I chose yes then closed my phone cover.
Then when I got home I went to show the missus the videos and nearly all my videos and pictures from February have gone. I've even tried a new memory card today to see if they come back.
I have just purchased an X8. Although detailed in the user guide there is no Data Monitor app on the phone??? Also. keyboard doesn't rotate.

I'm still getting emails and my other calendars are synced... I just can't understand why the one is not showing up. It's enabled on both my computer and phone (like, it's checked off.) I've unchecked, rechecked and restarted my phone several times. I'm not sure why it all of a sudden disappeared?
