My device is playing videos on YouTube, Google, Facebook, etc in 720p and not 1080. The quality is far inferior in this regard to my four year old HTC inspire. How can I change this to meet the requirements of the phone, with or without replacement.

when ever i try to play 720p hd videos on my xperia active running ics 4.04 i get the error message "sorry,this video cannot be played"..and after this i wont be able to play any videos till i turn my phone on again..and then for few minutes it plays smoothly and again it stops with that message..but in gb i never faced any such issues with the same videos i think it may be due to phones gallery app..so i opened those videos in MX player but there the video plays in S/W decoder mode and i cant change it to H/W decoder mode because H/W decoder mode isnt available u can see that in the below screen shots.but after restarting everything will be ok ..i formated my memory card but still the same ..only modification i made was that i rooted my phone.screen shot when i opened 720p video in MX player(before restarting)screen shot when i opened the same video in MX player(after restarting)Error message while opening in default gallery app?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have a lg vu which i need to replace which i like for video playback when files are in the memory card, not so much with Internet which usually looks bad.
overall, i was happy with the vu and all the hacks that allowed it to look like a htc, or iphone or pretty much anything.it is not acting up so i need to replace it and the impressions is catching my attention.
is the video quality good...compared to an iphone for example, where does it stand in video quality playback?
my xperia mini pro image quality is poor compared to the video quality.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI dont understand why my xperia x10 doesn't have 720p recording with a camera that can take pictures at 8.1 mp and yet the ipod touch 4g with a camera less then 1mp can take 720p?I want my Xperia X10 to be the best it can possibly be NOW before it goes out of date. A ipod touch 4g with a camera can record 720p video with a 1mp cam..and yet my phone kills its in hardware can't record 720p? Its can't get 16m colors either . so disappointed in Sony....its bad enough that call quaility *****, and in-call volume blows, now a lesser tech records better than my phone....when the embarassment stop.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an xperia ray and was taking videos holding the phone upright (portrait mode) but when i play it back from the gallery i have to turn the phone upside down but straight up to watch it in full screen! is that normal?should i download a video player app to rewatch my recorded videos? I didnt change any of the settings before recording so i dont understand how this happened! and is video support only for landscape mode. and i checked and my latest update 4.0.2.A.0.42 but before I update I wanted to know if this is the one that will get rid of the cool retro shut down animation (i'm on 2.3.3 still) ? if yes, is it worth the update? I read the update also adds the swipe keyboard and panorama settings and other camera settings. but I also have touchpal keyboard for swipe. so is it worth updating? and I'm in australia but imported my xperia ray from the uk so will that affect my update?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Xperia Z3 has been absolutely perfect, however it recently has started having issues with video playback stuttering every few minutes. It's like just a small delay that's happening every time I watch a video. It happens regardless of the app, whether YouTube, video unlimited, Google play movies etc. It is not buffering and I've tried different networks and I'm confident that it is not a connection issue. I did a full factory reset and have around 25 go of internal storage free and still experiencing it.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi got the 16gb memorycard so i thougt i'd convert some videoclips made with a proper videocamera that uses .mov format also got some snagged Internet clips in realtimeformat that id like to convert.i'm using avs videoconverter to do this.looking at a vidclip made with the phone i see it's saved in .3gp format. i load the .mov file and then save it to .3gp but it will not play on the phone
i've tried different settings on the screensize, audio quality and managed to get some bad quality audio to play but thats about as far as i get.theres alot of settings to change on both videocodecs and audiocodecs.trial and error method would just take to long.so what settings exactly should i use to get a converted file to behave on the x10 mini pro?

I cant watch a whole video on Facebook on my Z2, for some reason it throws out an error. Plus within 10min of using the phone it gets really hot.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just got a new Z3 with Lollipop pre-installed and found that YouTube playback via the default app is choppy/stuttery. I tried factory resets/ updating the YouTube app/clearing cache/turning the x-reality engine on/off, but of no avail.
The videos play perfectly fine on my much older Xperia s, so pretty sure this not on the YouTube end.

I get this in YouTube, Facebook and the Movies app.
I've tried full factory wipes and all the available updates. Issue remains.
I loaded "Fallen" by Evanescence onto my phone. Initially I was pleased with the audio quality, but the instant the bass cut in, I was horrified. It was noticeably distorted.
It wasn't playing particularly loudly, so it wasn't a volume issue. Turning the volume down didn't help.I was listening with Sennheiser EH1430 headphones, which are perfectly adequate.The audio tracks are 320Kbps VBR from Amazon MP3. The music sounds great through my HiFi, so the tracks are not distorted.I compared the MP3 files on the phone with the originals; identical.
So, am I just out of luck, or is there anything I could try?
Since it can't output 720p, how will we be able to watch any video you shoot in full 720p on an LCD tv?I have apple tv.if I transfer video over to it will it play in full resolution?

i've tried Internet and it took 25 minutes to upload and the end result was a blurry mess of downconversion. is there a way to stream the pure hd i'm shooting? mobileme? Internet? some other solution for hosted hd streaming of short iphone 4 clips without a loss of resolution?

1.) how much space will 720p video take on the device? I'm taking a vacation on the 17th of july and I'd like this to replace a camcorder
2.) assuming I don't roam on the phone (said vacation is in philippines) then how much battery life will this kill assuming I don't render video on the device and just record and play back.
Can anyone with experience on how big these files are give an estimate how much video the new iPhone will hold at 720p, 30fps? Its the main reason I'm upgrading and just wanted to know if 32gig's held hours or minutes worth of video. I suspect the latter....

I streamed movies from Google Play Movies and Netflix. I don't know if the resolution is going down to allow me to stream the videos, but I'm getting very frustrated. My LTE is full, never had a problem in my area with other phones. It's hardly better on Wi-Fi

They then killed Activesync support completely later the same day (Yeah, I know... why even roll the security policy?). Even after removing the Activesync acct, the video change has not reverted. Anyone know (hopefully short of a complete reinstall) of a way to completely revert Activesync security changes?
