View 4 RepliesI got the X8 a couple of days ago, but not being able to send texts is bothering me. I am with Vodafone Ireland, I refreshed the SMSC number and it says "+35387699989,145". The +35387699989 part is correct, but I'm not sure why the ,145 is there. I have tried removing the, 145 part and hitting update, but I get an update error. The phone has 47.27MB Available Space. It's running Android 2.1 (I purchased the phone with it already installed). I have tried several different sims including a new one I got today.

I've done the Settings>More>Internet Settings (Download settings for internet and MMS) thing, and my internet browsing is and always has been fine. If I turn Wi-Fi off and choose to browse via 2G, it's next to useless, but it DOES work. When I get into a 3/4G area it works as you'd expect without me changing any settings.In a 2G only area, a ~256K image should still be able to be received and sent, albeit with a slight wait, shouldn't it?

The message I get when people try to send me something is "Message not downloaded", and although I can press and hold to select "Download message", it still doesn't work. WHen I try to send, I get "Message queued for sending", after about 5 minutes. I've read about that message lots of times, but it seems the answer is always that the user hasn't downloaded the correct internet/MMS settings, which I have.I'm on O2, UK, and am on a contract with data available (and it won't deny me more data if I go over my limit).

View 2 Replies View RelatedShortly after I purchased my Xperia Play (Verizon) I did the update and everything was fine (2.3.3). Now when I try to take pictures they only show up with a green tint kind of like having night vision. It's doing this for both the front and rear facing cameras. It shows up in the preview as well.Also, when I try to send out texts it only says "Sending" they never get sent, but I can receive texts any time. I've been contemplating doing a restore to it but I don't want to waste my time if it doesn't fix anything and I definitely don't want to go through installing everything again.

I have an iphone 4s. Suddenly I was no longer able to receive imessages and the messages I sent to other iphon users were sending as text messages instead of imessages. I did a network reset which didnt work. Then i went into settings and toggled the imessage button. After doing that it now allows me to send imessages as an sms but says i can only be reached for messgaes at my email address and won't allow me to choose my phone number to get messgae. So now I can send imessages but they apepar to come from email account not my phone number.

Since my phone (Curve 9360) was updated to 7.1 Bundle 1133 last week, I can no longer send SMS messages as the numbers are changed to characters. For example, if I try to send an SMS to 63555 it converts it to FRDDD when entered, then when the SMS is sent, it displays (in red) Unidentified subscriber.Is this a problem with the software? I cannot find any setting to disable the search that changes the number to the characters.

iMessage is not working to my husband number. We both have the iPhone 4 on orange network but when I select to send him a message to his phone number it only ever sends as a text message, not iMessage. I can send as iMessage if I select his email address instead or if I respond to a message from him.

I'm posting on behalf of my girlfriend who recently had her number changed on her iPhone 4s. She did this through her service provider (o2) and the whole process seemed quick and stress free. After only a couple of hours and a restart of the phone the number had changed successfully, but now she is not able to send any text messages. She can recieve messages (including Whatsapp messages etc) and has no problem with incoming or outgoing calls with the new number so we are a bit miffed as to what the problem could be?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I've been experimenting with a bunch of free texting apps for iPhone and am a bit disappointed.The ones with decent interfaces such as Textfree and Textnow are both plagued by the problem that they send texts from different phone numbers every time you send a text. While this isn't really a huge problem for people with regular phones, iPhone users get irritated because texts will come in from different numbers, causing the text log to balloon in size and makes it difficult to keep track of conversations.
The only texting app that doesn't seem to behave this way is Textplus, which I loathe. The interface is complete and utter crap. The app runs so slowly and the texts are limited to 140 characters in length. These characteristics are true even for the paid version.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of any texting app that has a fast and smooth UI as well as sends texts from the same number each time?

This issue started with the last iOS update and has affected not only my phone, but my wife's and father in law's as well (we all have the exact same model) When I attempt to send a text message to my wife, my phone suddenly won't send imessages anymore. Only text. I have tried rebooting my phone, and my wife's phone. We have even tried wiping our phones and restoring them from backups. The problem still persists, wether we are at home connected to wifi or out of the house on 3G. The only way I have managed to send my wife an imessage was by creating a new contact with ONLY her e-mail address. That only worked once. since then, its trying to send everything as SMS again.
This is unacceptable as we live in an area with very poor celular coverage and rely heavily on wifi connections, therefore we won't receive an SMS until our phones get access to the celular network. All other apps and phone functions are working correctly across all 3 phones mentioned. On both my phone, and my wife's, I have double checked to ensure that iMessage is still turned on. I suspect that this is a global software issue seeing as it only started once we updated our phones to the latest iOS. My question is this:
Prior to the update, we were all able to send iMessages to eachother, regardless of where we were. The only time we'd have an issue is if someone's phone was turned off or not connected to either the celular 3G network or a wifi with internet access (which is natural).

Since Apple released iMessage my friend and I have been iMessaging. As of yesterday, I can still send my friend iMessages as usual, but she can only send iMessages to my email (I have "Receive at" set to my phone number and email, Caller ID set to my phone number). If she tries to send an iMessage to my phone number, as she did before, it will only send as a Text. All of my other iPhone contacts can still send iMessages to my phone number. We've each tried rebooting and switching iMessage on and off (we both have iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1) without any luck. I realise that iMessage is still technically working with her sending to my email, but we just don't understand why sending to my phone number has suddenly stopped working.

I am really disappointed with this bug :-( it was working all fine and I dont how suddenly it changed to this worse.I am unable to send images to any of my contacts in BBM on my Bold 9780. I even installed latest version of BBM.When we do Send->Pictures->Select Picture, then it gives that normal preview pan where we can write comment and click on send, In my case i just cant select that send button even when it appears usual as always.

When i choose a picture to send it ... there r two buttons i m supposed to choose from ... "Send" and "Cancel" ... I send them in the smallest size possible. I don't have any problems with email, just MMS. I went to Verizon, my carrier and they have no clue.
