iMessage is not working to my husband number. We both have the iPhone 4 on orange network but when I select to send him a message to his phone number it only ever sends as a text message, not iMessage. I can send as iMessage if I select his email address instead or if I respond to a message from him.

I get the blue send button for all of my other iOS users but the button remains green for her messages. I reseted password for Apple ID 1
after password reset, phone 1 and phone 2 can not send iMessage to each other's phone numbers (goes as text message). Can send iMessage it to each others email address and all other phone numbers/email addressesÂ
SOLUTIONS TRIED
- reactive iMessage with toggle switch
- network settings reset
- deleting our all old messages
- restart phone at various steps aboveÂ
OBSERVATIONS
I do see phone number under Settings | Messages | Send & Receive | YOU CAN BE REACHED.... on both phones selected,
however, it is grayed out unlike email addresses below
My iMessage will not send to one specific contact, she cannot send to me either, but we can iMessage all our other contacts

Since Apple released iMessage my friend and I have been iMessaging. As of yesterday, I can still send my friend iMessages as usual, but she can only send iMessages to my email (I have "Receive at" set to my phone number and email, Caller ID set to my phone number). If she tries to send an iMessage to my phone number, as she did before, it will only send as a Text. All of my other iPhone contacts can still send iMessages to my phone number. We've each tried rebooting and switching iMessage on and off (we both have iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1) without any luck. I realise that iMessage is still technically working with her sending to my email, but we just don't understand why sending to my phone number has suddenly stopped working.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1 when it was released. My friend updated his iPhone 4S delayed, yesterday. I want to block a number that keeps sending me pornographic test messages. My kids use my phone quite a bit and I want to block this specific number. I look on the web and there is a app that looks absolutly perfect for the job called iblacklist. It looks like I need to "jailbreak" my phone which looks like a fairly risky thing to do. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 on the T-Mobile network and as of two months ago now, I have been unable to call or text my girlfriend. She has an iPhone 5 also on the T-Mobile network.
When the problem began, we had been texting for half of the day and she suddenly stopped receiving my texts.
Now the texts show as delivered on my end, but she never gets them and when I try calling it goes straight to voice-mail. She can receive texts and calls from everyone else, while I can also text and call anyone besides her.
We went through both our phones and I'm most definitely not on her blocked list. Tried restarting and re-adding each others numbers but nothing happens.

When I send a picture through iMessage, sometimes it takes up to 3-4 minutes to send. Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Is this normal? Any help would be great.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently sold my iPhone 3GS and ported the number out to Google Voice. This old number is now forwarded to a new number on an employer provided 4S. I figured I could save some money, avoid the hassle of carrying two phones, and, at the same time, keep my personal number. I read about all of the problems that would happen if I did not turn off imessage before porting a number away from iOS and was determined to not let it happen to me.Before doing anything, I SHUT OFF iMESSAGE. I then ported the number out and cancelled my account, removed the SIM (AT&T), did a complete wipe/restore of the iphone, unregistered the iphone from my support profile, and sold the phone. From what I can tell from all of the support forum posts, I did everything I was supposed to do to ensure I would have no issues with imessage. I was so sure of myself, I didn't even bother to test it. I wish I had.
Despite my efforts, I am still not receiving text messages from iOS imessage users because messages from them to me still default to imessage instead of SMS. It doesn't seem to matter if they have the "Send as SMS" option toggled on or off...I will not get the message regardless. I've had people delete entire message strings and delete/replace my contact info in an effort to fix. No luck. I even had a stranger at work who did not have my contact info test it out for me. When he tried to text me, it defaulted to imessage. I must point out that I have ZERO issues receiving SMS messages.
how do I go about correcting the issue? I've already spent about an hour on the phone with Apple and about an hour at the genius bar (where the issue was successfully demonstrated first hand when a "genius" tried to text me from his phone). They claim that they had no prior knowledge of any issues with imessage and suggested that I tell all of my contacts with iphones to simply "just remember" to send me SMS only. Seriously? This is an unreasonable request...and certainly not a fix. After arguing for a while, they took my contact info and "escalated the issue to engineering." It's now been three weeks and I've heard nothing.
