After upgrading using PC Compantion (which was not an upgrade to Android 2.1) and restoring my backup I lost all my notes made with the notes application. Is there any way on retrieving back my valuble notes?

I have read the official support page which told me to first make a backup from phone memory to memory card, take out the memory card, and THEN make the firmware update, put the memory card back in, and restore memory from card. I did all this and now all my business notes and all my business contacts are gone. Were they not stored in the 'phone memory'? Or did the website fail to say that notes and contacts will NOT be saved from phone memory to memory card when one performs the backup? And no, I don't use Windows, so I cannot synchronise contacts and notes and calendar. I have always made a backup from phone memory to card. Did I just find out that the people at Nokia are just a couple of mumbling amateurs who tell their clients to 'make a backup of the phone memory to memory card' and then fail to mention that some things are NOT backed up in this process? Suffice to say that I am very, very, extremely angry at Nokia now.

I had(hopefully still have somewhere) a lot of important information stored there. This topic has already been issued at this as well as other forums, without any reasonable solution. My notes were stored in Notes which is an original feature of the phones software. Is it really impossible to retrieve them anyhow? Aren't there a way to wind time backwards and undo the upgrade? Where and in which format Notes files information is stored? Are they saved at the SD card?

I've got a Nokia E71-2 RM-357 and the current firmware is 200.21.118. After checking online with the product code what firmware I am eligeble for, apparently that is the latest one, however I am seeing a LOT of people enjoying 410.21.010.Is it at all possible for me to upgrade to this version? Or something newer at least? I'm having some issues with my E71 turning off on its own and doing some very random things.

I have been updating mu contacts with Lotus Notes 8.5 and it was working fine. After the update, the mobile phone numbers are not synchronized any more. Instead, the fax numbers are transferred.
Note: After the update, I also receive the following error message in the address book "No settings found. Contact your service provider.". I have no idea if this is related or not.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the firmware of my Nokia E71 to the latest version i.e. 500-21-009. I followed the instructions in Nokia site and took complete backup before upgrading and restored entire stuff after upgrade. Now, though my settings are intact as it was before upgrade and my operator (Airtel) also confirmed that my GPRS subscription is active, I can not connect to Web nor can check my emails.
Whenever I attempt to browse, it gives an error message saying - 'Connection Not available'! In fact, I checked inserting my CIM card to another Nokia phone and could browse Internet with same GPRS settings as in E71.
Since upgrading to firmware40.0.005 (custom version 40.0.005.224.09) videos get stuck after a few minutes, even knowing the sound still plays.I have made some research and spotted people complaining of that issue after upgrading to that firmware but it was a few months back, and surely Nokia wouldn't have text me last week to let me know about a firmware update if the problems with it havent been resolved.Any help would be much appreciated as I am using my phone to watch video a lot as it normally does the trick to keep my hyper active toddler quiet while out and about.Even a firmware downgrade would be accpetable, the videos being so important to avoid the little one destroying places (it was a god sent in A&E)

I recently tried to backup my phone and many of my notes have been lost. The backup contains note from 2 years ago, notes from 6 months ago, as well as notes from 4 days ago, however most in between are lost. One in particular was created 1 year ago and has been updated periodically over the year but it is not in the backup even as a previous version. I have tried multiple 3rd party softwares aimed toward recovering deleted notes NOT in a backup, however nothing is recognizing any outside those that were backed up. Do I have any options to recover? One note in particular was VERY important to me.

So when the hinge broke on mine recently, I bought a refurbished VX8350 in excellent condition. The only problem is the software version that's on the phone is 2.0 and the latest available version of the software is 4.0 which fixed several bugs on the phone and improved call and speakerphone clarity.I brought my replacement phone into Verizon today and they told me they no longer support the phone and no longer have the software upgrades for the VX8350.Is there any other means of burning my phone with latest firmware version the VX8350?

I just upgraded an iphone 3gs from 3.1.2 to 5.1.1 and it properly updated the firmware then at the end tried to restore the data. While restoring it kept prompting me for a password which I don't have any setup so I pressed cancel and it started synchronizing but my messages and notes are not showing up! I'm particularly concerned because I checked the size of the backup and it's like 200 mb! that seems very small.Is there a way I can fix this so it sync back everything properly and otherwise how can I restore to my previous backup with the previous firmware?

If I want them back on the phone, I had to drag them back to the phone. So I synced notes and there was an option as to whether to keep or delete notes that were synced; I am quite sure that I chose, "keep." Now, I am unable to find those valuable notes on either device. Ouch. Can you help? Is there a backup type of place to recover them?

I had the same Notes on both my iPad and my iPhone. Some made on the iPad and some made on the iPhone. Now adter syncing in iTunes I seem to have lost all my iPad made notes on my iPhone. I tried to update my BlackBerry Messenger and when I hit upgrade it gave me a white screen, I took the battery off the phone to reboot it because it was stuck on that white screen, once I turned my phone back on BlackBerry Messenger was no longer there, I can't find it anywhere in my phone, and when I go to the APP world it doesn't let me "upgrade it" it says "Please try again later" I've tried to "Upgrade" multiple times and it doesn't work.
