I cannot connect with the internet when I on my wi-fi but it was detected on my phone.when i choose "connect" it says "obtaining IP address" but later it says "unsuccessful".What do i do to get back my connection?

My phone lost connection and hasn't been able to find a network for calls/texts etc for past 24 hours in multiple locations where I know there is a good network signal from other phones here. I've tried upgrading the software through PC companion and that hasn't resolved the issue. (It's not in airplane mode and I've also tried powering on/off/on, cleaning SIM card etc)

My family has different android phones and can connect into my wi fi connection easily , without problems.
I also tried connecting to another wi fi connection and it connected , but i can't seem to find the reason that my phone can't find my wi-fi connection.
I have downloaded pc companion, the usb connection is fine (phone is visible) but I cannot find a connection to go online via pc. Have I got to create a connection??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7, fully updated with as far as I can tell a fully updated version of the N86. Recently got new firmware, but can't say for sure if this is when the problems started.
The problem I have is I am unable to connect the phone to the PC and get it to work with either Ovi of PC Suite. I have tried re-installing the drivers, but every time I plug it in, all I get is a Windows message installing drivers, and then a message saying S60 handset is installed, and a Windows screen giving me options such as file transfer etc.
If I try and connect in either Ovi or PC Suite, it can see the phone but says it is not in PC suite mode, even though I have selected this option on the phone. I have a feeling that Windows is installing a generic S60 driver, rather than a model specific one, and this is what is causing the problem, but I can't find a model specific driver anywhere.
This phone has been working on this PC before, and I seem to remember it installing 3 or 4 drivers when first connected, but now it only installs an "MTP USB Device" driver. Any help would be appreciated, because at the moment all I can do is transfer files. No backups, no syncs, nothing with either Ovi or PC Suite, the only access I have is through Microsofts own explorer.
I can't find information about the 4 USB connection modes. When I plug in the usb cable I see PC Mode/Windwos Media Sync Mode/USB Mass Storage/Charge Only.The charge only mode is self explainatory. What are the other modes for and which one should be default when using MOTOCast sync or windows media player sync? I'm suspecting if I want to do a straight file copy I'd pick the Mass Storage mode?can I choose a default or will I always have to pick one?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem when trying to update my Nokia 5230 using the Nokia Suite.Please note; my phone is plugged in, there is an update for my phone as the last time it was updated was when it made manufactured (nov 09). The USB mode is on 'PC suite'. I have downloaded all the latest versions of the Nokia Suite.
When I click 'Update Phone Software", it takes me to the updater. When it comes to the 'Searching for a connected device', it hands for about 1-2 minutes, then says "Unable to find device".
if I take a picture I was always able to find it on my PC by browsing the DCIM folder but I can't anymore. I have it set to save to my SD card, it shows on the phone but not on my SD card even if I search by file name. I've done the searches from my internal and SD card on all folders not just DCIM. Pictures taken automatically start with the year & date so I first did a search with the actual filename 20150423_101014 of a picture I just took-no results. Then I did a search for everything that starts with 2015, only the ones prior to this issue showed up (as I said before this is a search on all folders internal & SD card) I recently brought my phone to the Sprint store because my phone would not install Android 5.0, they did a reset on it and since I got it back it's been like this (they couldn't figure that out so I still have Android 4.4.2). I have the LS990 variant.This makes zero sense to me, it has to be saved on the phone somewhere doesn't it?

I tried the microphone on speaker phone and it worked. I tried to connect with face time to my wife’s iphone 4 tonight. I placed a call and after I connected I looked and there is no face time button. I had my wife call me and push the face time button (yes I know it’s not really a button) on her phone it displayed connecting but it would not connect to my phone or show on my phone that there was a face time attempt. We are both on wifi and have a good cell signal. I tried to do face time through the phone contacts and the contacts icon.
I have 4.0.2 installed.

This is driving me to distraction on my Nokia E72 which I have been very pleased with everything on it, but the GPS receiver is pretty dire in my unit.I have access points correctly configured and tried just about every combination of positioning methods to no avail.Most of the time I end up having to set off in the car and sometimes the GPS gets a lock (having been set on waiting for GPS) and sometimes, it just never catches up and I switch it off. Worse, yesterday I started getting directions having supposedly got a lock, for all the wrong roads and directions as the phone thought it was somewhere else!This has been on good clear days and days where it has been overcast.Nokia Maps is set to online mode.How do other people find the GPS in the E72? My phone is on v81.003, I can't upgrade it to a later version as it says there is none.Mine is a SIM free unlocked phone from new.
