I cannot access the net and get my emails or use a 3rd party browser like opera nor can i do anything. This is a major concern for me as it doesn't matter when i am home but it's amjor concern when i travel abroad.

Apr 21, 2012my iphone 4 (verizon) is connected to my home wifi but it's not working! when i go on Internet is says that it cannot connect, same with any other app that requires internet. it has the wifi symbol and everything. what's weird is that when i turn off my wifi (then 3g symbol replaces the wifi symbol) i am able to connect perfectly! i've tried all i can think of to fix this. restoring, rebooting, turning off and on again, forgetting my network then connecting to it again but nothing works!

BB Curve :: Unable To Access Internet At WiFi Hot Spots?
Mar 14, 2011I have scoured the forums here and practically everywhere possible on the net with out any luck at finding an answer for almost a month. I am currently on Prepaid cards through Fido. I bought a BB Curve about a month ago because I was told it had built in WiFi.I have no problems connecting it to my home wireless network. Weather I have it secured or unsecured. I have no problems connecting to any open or secured wireless network. Where I do have a problem is when I go to places like Starbucks where it has a log-in Screen.Then I am unable to connect at all.I scan for networks, it finds the network. I select the network. It then says it's connected. Then I go to try and go onto the internet and it just gives me a blank white screen. As of right now I am finding that my BlackBerry is just a useless paperweight since mainly I got it to use at Starbucks since that is where I am a lot of the time.
I have tried going to bell.ca and seeing if I could access it that way (as I read somewhere to try this), still no luck. My question is, why would I be told that it has built in wifi if it only works on certain networks? Is it able to be used on networks that have a login screen or is it not able to? And is there something I am doing wrong? It is showing the bell hotspot name when it says connected. And I made sure I have it set as wifi mode. I have had other devices (Palm Pilot) that have had no problems connecting. What is the point of built in wifi if it won't work on ALL wifi networks?Ultimately what I want to know, is how to get my BlackBerry to bring up the login pages of these "hot spots"? Weather at Starbucks, Libraries, other coffee shops etc.?
IPhone 3GS :: IOS 6.1.6 / Unable To Access The Internet While Connected To WiFi
Jun 25, 2014I own an iPhone 3GS, and have recently upgraded it to iOS 6.1.6. I was able to connect to Wi-Fi using a Netgear Cable Modem with WiFi capability. But the internet service provider upgraded this equipment, replacing it with an ARRIS Touchstone Data Gateway DG1670 cable modem with Wi-Fi capability. Unfortunately, I have discovered that I'm unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi, while using my iPhone 3GS, running iOS 6.1.6. I am completely able to connect my MacMini, a smart-TV, and an iPhone 5 to this ARRIS device with Wi-Fi. Â
I have contacted my internet service provider and they tell me that the problem is with my iPhone 3GS, not with their equipment. We very meticulously went through all the troubleshooting steps, but to no avail. I have also read all the Apple Knowledge Base articles here about configuring an iPhone 3GS properly, and I have also followed Apple Knowledge Base articles concerning optimal configuration of an internet modem with Wi-Fi capability. Â
I like my iPhone 3GS, it works well, but now I cannot sync it to iCloud, and now I must have Wi-Fi turned off to make it usable. I also understand that iOS 6.1.6 will be the last upgrade for the iPhone 3GS. If this is true, then I'm sadly disappointed with Apple's inability to keep up with technology.

Feb 9, 2012I just updated my N8 from symbian anna to belle. Everything went ok. Now I'm trying to connect to my home wifi network which has WEB security. I can connect without a problem. I mean the phone says it's connected to the network. But when I try to access a website there is only the error page. And after a minute or so the wifi connection drops out by itself. I saved the network, and there's no other destination in the settings/destinations menu. the phone is not connecting to it by itself. Is there a way to go back to Anna?

Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"

Dec 6, 2011I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."

Mar 24, 2012I have a strange issue with my xperia pro.Since a week back i am not able to access the internet through wifi across all apps except for the Good email application!Xperia pro is not the issues since I am able to access my emails via Good all the time.My router cannot be the issue since on all other devices (ipad, iphine, pc, laptop) i have full connectivity (both Good and all other apps).
Now comes the strangest part:I switched to my neighbors router and lo and behlod everything works on my Xperia pro.I have no clue where to pinpoint the problem.

I'm connecting wifi (sees it, enters password and connects) but there is no internet connection. I surfed on internet to detect problem and all i found was 'changing wep to wpa' . (I'm using u.s. robotics 9106 as modem) But it didn't work out too.

Feb 12, 2015I'm using my laptop as an internet hotspot using program mHotspot. I'm connecting to this network using another laptop and my Xperia Z2. I was using it for like 2-3 weeks already and everything were working fine but suddenly it stopped working correctly, I mean my phone doesn't have internet anymore. I doubt it'd be a problem with that program because my second laptop has internet access all the time with no problems.
Every time I'm trying to load some site (google, youtube, anything) I'm getting an error: This web page is not available. I can ony Reload or Show details. I click on "Show details" and it says that the server can't be found because the DNS look-up failed. There are some solutions to this problem but none works, I tried them already.
On the bottom of the page it shows Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG.
Okay I get it, its something with DNS configuration but I can't figure out whats wrong. I tried changing DNS address in wi-fi settings but it didn't work.
Looks like its a problem only with my internet browsers (I tried using both Chrome and Dolphin browser) since other apps which uses internet connections (like Skype, Facebook messenger) works fine (except for that avatars are not loading at all).
Also I'd like to add that I wasn't changing any settings on the phone before the error appeared. I was browsing the internet at the evening and at the morning it wasn't working anymore.

May 22, 2012I've been trying to tether my Sony Erricson Xperia Neo to a laptop pc. Android OS.I first tried USB tethering but my laptop had no internet access, so I instead tried setting up a portable wifi hotspot to see if that would work. My laptop recognised the network I had created and I joined it succesfully, but I had no internet access. (Note: When I used USB tethering another network was recognised by the laptop)
I checked my phone and the 3g icon which shows that mobile internet is enabled (the two little verticle arrows with 3g above them) were not visible, but when I disabled the wi-fi hotspot, the icon appeared again. I'm not sure whether this is normal but could it be that 3g is being disabled with the activation of hotspotting, or is it just hidden automatically when wi-fi hotspotting is disabled? I find sometimes that the 3g icon disapears for no reason in areas I previously have had good signal, and then when I try and connect it takes a few seconds and then the icon appears again and I can connect.
