Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Switching Off When Connecting To PC?
Jan 5, 2011
Everytime I connect my phone to my PC via the USB cable, it launches PC companion, and then connects okay. But within a few seconds, the phone just switched itself off for no reason. Ive tried it on both my desktop and my laptop with the same results.
I am a new user of the x10 mini pro and would like to update it. I have been following the update instruction from this site, installed companion but during the update the phone switches itself off and the update fails. I have tried one work around involving checking the 'charge battery' but this didn't work and the phone still shuts itself off.
My X10 Mini Pro freezes out at the lock screen when I switch it on as it is still charging!I switched off my phone the night before and plugged it in to charge. The next morning I switched it on and it took a while to boot up but when it eventually did it would not let me past the lock screen.I then went out and when I came back, a hour later, it had died.
After upgrading my Xperia X10 Mini Pro from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1 the phone keeps on switching off and restarting itself automatically on any given moment during the day (at least 2 or 3 times a day).It happens even/especially when I am not using any apps. So there does not seem to be any reason for restarting.
I bought my Xperia SK17a a few months back in Vancouver, I then moved to Mexico, I unlocked it here in Mexico and it has always worked fine except for one thing: when I plug in my headphones I can hear my media just fine, but then if I unplug them the phone won't detect that it no longer has the headphones and so the sound and media will keep playing as if it the headphones were still plugged, obviously I can't hear nothing coming out from the built-in speaker because it keeps sending the sound to the 3.5 mm jack. Sometimes I can make it work, this will only happend if I shut down my phone or if I slightly plug in my headphones on the jack but not enought to get the music , after I do that I can hear a constant "tap-tap-tap-tap" as if someone was knocking the door, however I can't always do that or it dosn't always works. I can also hear that "taptaptap..." sound when I record or make a call and have the built-in speaker working, such speaker stop working the second I plug in and out my headphones and if I record a video with the headphones plugged or the speakers not working I can no longer hear such tapping on the video. Also, if i plug in the headphones I can no longer hear anything during a call, but they can indeed hear me, If i want to hear the other person I'd have to plug in my headphones or pray for a miracle to happen.
my x10 mini is stuck in a cycle of switching its self on and off again before it reaches the home screen, been like it for 2 days, was fully charged when it started and drained the battery eventually doing this, put it on charge and it started the cycle again, and i can't connect it to a P.C via usb because it's not on long enough to recognize the device.
I can't even get my x10 mini pro to hook up via usb!
My computer recognises the hardware but the pc connectivity software from sony is utterly useless in syncing with the PC and I cant find any help of Sonys website.
Ive reinstalled software, turned off fire walls etc. Further to this, I cant find any link to get my contacts from Windows Contacts Calendar onto the blasted phone.
My old Nokia is disconnected, but the X10 wont talk to sync with it by bluetooth even though they can see each other.
I hope Sony are reading this stuff and see why people keep buying Nokias.
My monthly charges appeared to be including extra for internet charges, which I was having a time understanding because I believed I was often accessing the internet by wi-fi and therefore avoiding charges at those times. However, thinking back I now realise I was not only turning-on wi-fi but also enabling data traffic ... my logic was that wi-fi created the link, data-transmission enabled its use.Having thought things through, am I right in thinking that this is mistaken, that these two are independent means of connecting? that enabling data traffic will lead to connections via system and will therfore incur costs if going over allowance, whereas enabling wi-fi will connect to the net at hotspots, home/ office wi-fi, etc where present? I don't need both together?that I can leave data traffic turned off and connect fine by wi-fi where there's a service available, and turn-on data traffic if I need to connect where there's not a wi-fi service present?
I seem to be having some major problems when connecting my x10 mini pro to my pc via usb also my phone just seems generally problematic since the update to Android 2.1.The phone becomes inoperable if on whilst charging via the lead and plug but it would normally connect to my pc without issue and the update to Android 2.1 also executed without any hitches. Now every time I connect my phone via usb to my pc the phone just keeps rebooting.Firstly I am prompted by phone to either connect to pc or charge phone (which is normal) I connect to pc: so my phone and memory card content is available in explorer.Suddenly my phone freezes and reboots, so I again connect to pc and the same thing happens. This just goes on pretty much in a loop.Occasionally I am able to view or add/retrieve files until the phone decides to reboot again. Also when my phone has been disconnected from my pc, some time after it will just suddenly reboot all by it self.
I would like to know if I can use my Xperia mini pro as a modem to connect to the internet via my pc? I have done it in the past with my old Sony Ericsson, but just can't seem to get it working with this phone.
usual just after midnight however it kept connecting regularly last night whilst I slept. Havn't got a clue why can anybody suggest why or explain where I can see the exact websites the phone is connecting to. I've asked the network provider to suspend the internet connection till I get to the bottom of this.
I am trying to connect my xperia mini pro to pc by usb.I regularly did this prior to updating to androd 2.4.4 latest baseband version...-64 (i previouly had 58 i think) a few days ago When i connect , the phone will charge , but the phone is not 'found' by the pc. i have tried it on several laptops with different cables and usb ports , two of these laptops have pc companion installed on them,a third laptop a sony - does not but pc companion option to install does not appear i have tried both connection modes MTP and MSC I have tried usb debugging on & off any advice?
My phone has 4.1.B.0.431 software version. Here [URL]. I find that latest version is 4.1.B.0.587. but when I connect my phone with Sony PC Companion it's shows that my phone has already latest software. Why it's saying this thing. Here below I given all screen shots for reference.
Since I moved to android 2.1 I've not been able to connect to the wifi at my work, even though it worked just fine on 1.6.(old forum posts I've found ages ago suggested that a similar issue occurred on android 1.6 but there was some kind of patch that fixed it. Is something like this available for 2.1 now?)
Today I uploaded the firmware through Sony PC Companion to Android Version 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.587. After that my wireless connectivity that was working fine, stopped working.
My Wifi is secured and before I give the password, it says the signal strength is Excellent. After that, it says Signal strength is Poor and tries to keep connecting.
I got my Xperia mini a couple of weeks ago and I am generally very satisfied. Just one thing is a little bit annoying. I use the mini as my primary music player. Whenever I connect it to my home stereo or car stereo through line in, I get a pulsating, humming noise for a couple of seconds. I have tried it with several stereos and computer speakers. Always the same. I use the latest firmware update.
i hav a problem.. my iphone 3g 8gb is not switchin on..i was using it.. it suddely fell off my lap.. now it not even charging nor getting connected to itunes..i want to restore all my data including photos contacts and mesaages.. is there any way?
When I connect my X10 mini pro through USB to my notebook, sd card file system crashes. Not always, but in 70% of cases. Formatting (FAT32) helps only. If i unmount the card, take it out of the phone and put it directly to the pc, it works fine, file sys never crashes.I have tried two different 4Gb Class 4 SD cards. Operared fine in phone, but same problem occured when connected to pc.I always unmount drive from windows before usb cable removal.Very annoying to take out the card for safe file transfer. Also GPS needs sometimes even 10-20+ mins to find satellites. I dont't think this is normal. Or is it?
In a nutshell, I have my N97 mini setup and connecting to the internet perfectly, letting me navigate to web pages as normal. Despite this, when I try using OVi maps, or even Google maps it will not connect to the internet.. "Connection Failed" Every time. It will ask me which connection to use - I select the connection I use for the internet and it does not work. I have also tried using the WAP connection which also, does not work!
I´ve had my Mini 5 months now and after a learning period it´s been great and in my control. Last week or so it started to connect itself to my wi-fi at home, thus draining my battery. When I turn it off it only takes a few moments before it reconnects. I have read posts here about this problem but none of the advices have helped me. Every setting I have checked has been as I want them: always ask before connecting!
Ive joined o2 web where u pay £7.50 a month for unlimited internet but when I try to connect it says connecting via o2 WAP then says no connection available. I've tried it at home, work, everywhere but still nothing? my dad is on exactly the same and works perfect everywhere. it works at home connecting to the WiFi. So I guess I am just not setting it up properly.
I am new to viewing Emails and browsing the web on my mobile, and have recently subscribed to a pay monthly SIM. I set up access to my hotmail account via the mailbox in the messaging section of my N97 mini. Since then, my phone keeps randomly connecting to the internet ( or the icon on the screen appears to be connected). I deleted the hotmail account in my mailbox, but it is still connecting randomly. Prior to this problem, my phone connected to my home network if I was within range , or prompted me to connect to Orange GPRS if I was out of range.
I Have now deleted/disabled the Orange Gprs settings ( I assume I will have to phone Orange to send me new settings when I get this sorted?) ,and now when I restart my phone, away from home, it asks if I want to search for WLan, due to the fact it cannot connect to Orange. When I am at home it connects to my WiFi. It is though there is a process or app on my phone needing Internet access? Would any sort of reset delete all my settings, so I can start again? I have done a backup without backing up my settings in anticipation of doing so.
hey friends,i wanted to know if there is any way of switching opera mini browser to default browser as the nokia browser is much slower than the opera mini. I would also like to know what is making thw nokia browser so slow compared to others.
My ray keeps switching off by itself, I notice that it will "die" after the screen display dim. It seems like it cannot sleep, instead automatically switch off. I repair the software by using PC suite a few times already.
I have a Xperia Neo L. I have used it for about half a year and there never has been any problems. However, since yesterday, after I switched off my phone. I was not able to turn it back on again. When I held down the power button, there was a vibration, which was normal, but there is nothing on the screen. The screen is just totally black. When I tries to charge my phone to see what happens, there is still the orange light on top, but my phone still does not switch on. I tried calling myself, but it claims that my phone is switched off. When I link my phoner to the computer, my phone will still have the orange light on top, signifying that it is being charged, but when I check my computer, I cannot find my phone(the file-removable disc(:/F))
I'm attempting to use Map Loader 3.0.28.0 to load Maps onto my N97 Mini ( software version 10.0.020, 14-10-09 ), on which I have installed the latest Maps version ( 3.03 10wk01 b05 ). I've run this Maps more than once, and the cities folder exists on my E: ( Mass Memory ) drive. There is no 'F:' drive ( i.e. no memory card ). When I connect my phone to the PC, I start it in PC Suite mode. Using PC Suite 7.1, I am able to interact with my phone.
When I start Map Loader, it says 'You have connected at least one phone without a valid Maps drive. Either you are using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application once and restart Map Loader'. Connecting in Mass Storage mode does not seem to help.
