Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Pc Connecting Through Usb Cable Can Destroy Sd Card File System
Sep 13, 2011
When I connect my X10 mini pro through USB to my notebook, sd card file system crashes. Not always, but in 70% of cases. Formatting (FAT32) helps only. If i unmount the card, take it out of the phone and put it directly to the pc, it works fine, file sys never crashes.I have tried two different 4Gb Class 4 SD cards. Operared fine in phone, but same problem occured when connected to pc.I always unmount drive from windows before usb cable removal.Very annoying to take out the card for safe file transfer. Also GPS needs sometimes even 10-20+ mins to find satellites. I dont't think this is normal. Or is it?
What do you often do with mobile phone SD memory card RAW file system error? Is it possible for me now to get my left photos out from that RAW memory card? Recently, I just cannot access my 16GB SD memory card of my mobile phone and inner stored photos since it keeps asking me to format no matter whether it try to use it on my digital camera or Samsung laptop. My friend just says it is detected as RAW file system on my PC and that’s why it needs formatting before any access. But, I really don’t know such memory card RAW file system error and don’t know whether the SD memory card RAW format error recovery software really works for me, like [URL] ....
How do you think about it? Is any related memory card data recovery software really needed? Can I just format this memory card and do rescue everything inside latter?
I tried to format the card and mount it. When I press format SD card, erase SD card box appears, I confirm Erase everything appears, I select it. Then I select Mount SD card, but nothing happens. I cannot take pictures. The phone works. When I insert SD card in my PC it shows a bunch of folders (all empty).
while i am connecting my neo v to the pc through a usb cable and when i am using my device it does not navigate as i want it to do it keeps staying on the home page not allowing me to navigate any where after i updated it to the latest update available but not ice cream sandwich.
My Xperia x10 mini pro cable failed during the update. While the update is installing already, the cable got moved accidentally; therefore disconnecting the phone. Right now, my phone won't even turn on! It only shows an image of a phone with an exclamation point.
I have bought a X10 mini pro on ebay and replaced the 2GB card by a 16GB sdhc. I copied the contents of the former onto the latter via my PC.Since I did that, the phone starts to play one of the mp3 tracks I copied to it (always the same) as soon as I connect the USB cable, regardless whether it's for synchronising or charging. The song is not played by the audio player app - if I start a track there, then I here both at the same time. Killing all processes doesn't stop it either. The only way is to switch off the phone. Switching it on again doesn't restart the music, unless the cable is removed and plugged in again.Obviously this is more of an oddity than a problem, but it is somewhat annoying, especially since I usually intend to fill the battery when connecting the phone, not drain it with a song on its lips.
I plugged my x10 into my Macbook Pro with Sony Bridge for Mac installed and the touchscreen suddenly stopped working. When I unplugged the cable the touchscreen remained unresponsive but then after a while it became responsive for half a minute before going off again. All this time the phone keeps telling me I've got new email coming through but I don't know where that email is. Now I'm getting texts but I cannot read them.
How can I get my touchscreen to work again? This appears to be a software problem? Can I read or export SMS messages without using the touchscreen?
I would erally need to back up my SMS if I need to wipe the phone but so far have not found a way to do this. I have never updated the system of the phone so I assume it's still in the original factory OS.
I am trying to update my Xperia x10 mini system software version 1.6 to 2.1 and I am able to the to the preparation point. When the I am instructed to switch off my Xperia and turn it on back again to contact with my PC I am getting the below window which states that I need to scroll the smart status bar and choose 'Connected USB device' on my phone and than 'Instal'... well.. I don't have these option. When I scroll down the status bar I get only 2 options: 'Connect USB' or Do not connect'. If I connect it it revert me back to the previous point when the system is asking to switch off and on the phone.
I need to restore my android system as it has some problems (I think because of some apps I installed and removed) How can I do that without loosing all the things I've saved on my mobile?
Two files inside the DCIM/.thumbnails folder have reached 818 Megabytes !!!! o_O
Both start with ".thumbdata--" and are followed by a number, one is 348 MB and the other is 470 MB in size! My card has 16GB capacity I delete them but they keep coming back whenever I use the camera, the gallery or change the wallpaper.
I allready re-installed the ICS and reboot my phone so this is not a solution
I can't even get my x10 mini pro to hook up via usb!
My computer recognises the hardware but the pc connectivity software from sony is utterly useless in syncing with the PC and I cant find any help of Sonys website.
Ive reinstalled software, turned off fire walls etc. Further to this, I cant find any link to get my contacts from Windows Contacts Calendar onto the blasted phone.
My old Nokia is disconnected, but the X10 wont talk to sync with it by bluetooth even though they can see each other.
I hope Sony are reading this stuff and see why people keep buying Nokias.
My monthly charges appeared to be including extra for internet charges, which I was having a time understanding because I believed I was often accessing the internet by wi-fi and therefore avoiding charges at those times. However, thinking back I now realise I was not only turning-on wi-fi but also enabling data traffic ... my logic was that wi-fi created the link, data-transmission enabled its use.Having thought things through, am I right in thinking that this is mistaken, that these two are independent means of connecting? that enabling data traffic will lead to connections via system and will therfore incur costs if going over allowance, whereas enabling wi-fi will connect to the net at hotspots, home/ office wi-fi, etc where present? I don't need both together?that I can leave data traffic turned off and connect fine by wi-fi where there's a service available, and turn-on data traffic if I need to connect where there's not a wi-fi service present?
I seem to be having some major problems when connecting my x10 mini pro to my pc via usb also my phone just seems generally problematic since the update to Android 2.1.The phone becomes inoperable if on whilst charging via the lead and plug but it would normally connect to my pc without issue and the update to Android 2.1 also executed without any hitches. Now every time I connect my phone via usb to my pc the phone just keeps rebooting.Firstly I am prompted by phone to either connect to pc or charge phone (which is normal) I connect to pc: so my phone and memory card content is available in explorer.Suddenly my phone freezes and reboots, so I again connect to pc and the same thing happens. This just goes on pretty much in a loop.Occasionally I am able to view or add/retrieve files until the phone decides to reboot again. Also when my phone has been disconnected from my pc, some time after it will just suddenly reboot all by it self.
Everytime I connect my phone to my PC via the USB cable, it launches PC companion, and then connects okay. But within a few seconds, the phone just switched itself off for no reason. Ive tried it on both my desktop and my laptop with the same results.
I would like to know if I can use my Xperia mini pro as a modem to connect to the internet via my pc? I have done it in the past with my old Sony Ericsson, but just can't seem to get it working with this phone.
Will the reboot or factory reset delete the Android system on my phone.i'm facing touch, heat, and automatic frequent lighting problems. thus, i want to see if any reboot works.
usual just after midnight however it kept connecting regularly last night whilst I slept. Havn't got a clue why can anybody suggest why or explain where I can see the exact websites the phone is connecting to. I've asked the network provider to suspend the internet connection till I get to the bottom of this.
I am trying to connect my xperia mini pro to pc by usb.I regularly did this prior to updating to androd 2.4.4 latest baseband version...-64 (i previouly had 58 i think) a few days ago When i connect , the phone will charge , but the phone is not 'found' by the pc. i have tried it on several laptops with different cables and usb ports , two of these laptops have pc companion installed on them,a third laptop a sony - does not but pc companion option to install does not appear i have tried both connection modes MTP and MSC I have tried usb debugging on & off any advice?
My phone has 4.1.B.0.431 software version. Here [URL]. I find that latest version is 4.1.B.0.587. but when I connect my phone with Sony PC Companion it's shows that my phone has already latest software. Why it's saying this thing. Here below I given all screen shots for reference.
Since I moved to android 2.1 I've not been able to connect to the wifi at my work, even though it worked just fine on 1.6.(old forum posts I've found ages ago suggested that a similar issue occurred on android 1.6 but there was some kind of patch that fixed it. Is something like this available for 2.1 now?)
I have just got my Xperia X8, it has a 2GB SD card installed. Under the "SD card & phone storage settings" it shows 1.8 GB under "Total Space" when the phone is not connected to a PC/USB. As soon as I connect the phone to my PC using USB the status of the SD Card shows "Unavailable" both under "Total Space" and "Available Space".
I have tried removing and re-inserting the SD Card.
Also the PC's File Browser shows the drive as a CD Drive (G:) but when you try and open it says "Please insert a disk into drive G"
Is there a way I can make some of the pre-loaded games like Crash Bandicoot or Star Battalion and just make them like regular games so I can move them to an SD card and get get them off my phone?
I don't really want to delete them, as I like them, I just don't want them to be part of my phone if possible.
I have an mhl cable to connect my htc one m7 to my tv. One bit goes into the fone, one into the tv hdmi slot and another into the tv usb slot. At first it worked fine. Now it doesn't show any video or sound but says on fone screen "mhi connected" or words to that effect. I replaced the cable assuming it to be faulty but as the problem is still here i now doubt that.
I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.
