Took out of Christmas wrapped box, folllowed instructions to plug in and charge. When I try to switch phone on I get a display icon of a phone, and behind it, a large triangle containing exclamation mark!
I read this might mean it's software was unsuccessfully updated?
I downloaded Sony Ericsson PC Companion. This eventually recognized that my phone was actually connected to my pc by USB, but then simply recommended I try re-inserting the battery.

Feb 9, 2012Many peoples phones wont switch on. My x10 mini pro refuses to shut down!!
I power down and the phone switches off, but then switches itself back ON after a few seconds. The only way to fix this is by taking the battery out for a second and then re-inserting it. Once Ive done this, it will not switch on until I press the power button!

Sep 9, 2012My xperia pro m16i was charging though usb cable, I was surfing net on my pc then I took my pro and clicked its side button to unlock it but I saw that it was not unlocking then I took out its battery and placed in again then tried to start it but its not starting. It's not even charging. I bought it 15 days ago. I also tried to on it by holding vol. up button and home button but nothing is happening. And I also updated it to latest ics 4.0.4 by flash tool the day when I bought it.

Oct 14, 2010A few days ago the battery completely discharged and the phone switched off so i recharged it but initially i couldn't turn it on, it kept vibrating but the screen remained black. After several attempts (startup screen appearing but shutting off) i got it to turn on but the touch screen wasn't responding, i couldn't unlock the keypad. I was beginning to think my phone was bricked but taking the battery out and reinserting it seems to have sorted things out. Now i'm reluctant to let the battery fully discharge in case it happens again and i can't recover the phone!
Is this a bug caused by the update? I've read of others having similar issues. Yesterday for a few hours i couldn't dl apps from the store which is why i ask as similarly others have had this issue since updating. My X10 came with the update but was fine up until then.

Xperia X10 :: Loudspeaker Icon Doesn't Appear Until Conversation Started
Sep 9, 2010When I call someone and I'm in a private environment, I like to hit the top left loudspeaker icon at once so that I can do other stuff with both my hands until the other end answers. But with the Sony Ericsson Xperia, the loudspeaker icon doesn't appear until the conversation has started.
Which means first that I have to hold the phone next to my ear until the other end answers, and second that the screen has gone black, and if I still want to use the loudspeaker I have to tilt it or press a button or something (which always feels like it takes forever) to wake it up so that I can access the loudspeaker icon.
Can you make the loudspeaker icon appear at once the phone number has been called, instead of, wait for connection, wait while ringing. Btw, can you also make the phone wake up faster while during a conversation. I have a small problem with it going black when I am calling centers with automated answering where I need access to the numbers to enter selections in the automated menu.
