View 2 Replies View RelatedUpdated the OS on Bold 9700 to 6.0 2534. The upgrade was successful but I now have a much reduced set of ringtone options. In reality the choices available are now all more suited to message alerts rather than call alerts. How do I recover the call alert ringtone options that were previously available to me; the current choices available are not fit for purpose.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to the OS6 on my Bold 9700. Just love the new firm way. It works great but I have one problem. I slowly loose memory through the day. I do a battery pull and I start with 36MB free by the end of the day say 16 hours later I am done to 21 or 22 MB. I have to do a battery pull every day to reset memory.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBefore updating my device to Android 6, I used SmartLock so my phone would unlock automatically when I arrived at home.
After updating, SmartLock doesn't work anymore because of the GPS location, it doesn't have the accuracy needed for it. Whenever I open Maps, for instance, I need to wait for GPS get my accurate position, but if I close and then reopen it I need to do this again. I have high precision setted on my location settings.
I tried converting several lossless FLAC files (192/24) to a lossless WMA (96/24) to listen to on Lumia 920. The conversion went fine and I checked the resulting files by playing them on the computer. They played fine as expected (no difference from the original). However transferred on a 920 those started to exhibit quantization noise and somewhat degraded sound. I don't have extraordinary expectations for the audio hardware in a phone but at times it was very noticeable - the part where a song fades into silence at its end and has prominent quantization noise (intermittent quick patches of noise/faint sound and silence) is a prime example. If the files were played back at 24 bit resolution that wouldn't have happened for sure. Also, perhaps, that wouldn't be noticeable much if there were proper ditering algorithms in place. None of this appears to be happening inside the Lumia's music player or hardware.

View 4 Replies View Related It seems Xperia Keyboard update (6.6.A.0.30) has been released. I found it on Play Store, but there is no update nor install button for me to update it.
Attached screenshots to demonstrate the problem.
1st picture - no install / update button.
2nd picture - xperia keyboard search result and it is already installed.
I'm on D6653 and 5.0.2, and Xperia Keyboard version 6.6.A.0.12.
I successfully upgraded to Android 2.1 on my Xperia x10 Mini Pro. After the upgrade everything works beautifully except 2 things.
1> I am unable to play any online videos. When I try loading the video it does not load the control for it and shows a small square block like a Lego brick. Looks like the browser is missing some add-on like Flash or something. Have tried installing Flash for the browser but it said Flash is already installed.. Have tried downloading a different browser, like Opera but that does not help either.
2> This is not very important, but for some reason the alarm does not work any more. I can set the alarm on the phone. It shows that the alarm is set for a particular time but when the time comes it does not ring. Have tried using different applications for this but those don't work either.
I am aware that video's have to be in mp4 format and I have converted them to the correct format but my nokia n97 still refuses to play them.any idea's please ???

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy first consern is do I need to format my N95 phone memory to be able to perform clean installation of firmware.
My Nokia N95 has very old firmware v12.0.013 19-06-07 RM-159 Nokia N95 (66.01) and it freezes from time to time which means that I cannot do anything for certain amount of time and I can see Nokia logo on my display. It starts to work after but I tired of waiting for this phone to unfreeze. There is one more problem which I have. I have Garmin mobile XT installed while ago and I am unable to uninstall it. I comes up with error message "Removing Failed" I do not want to drag all this problems back to new firmware. I am IT support so as far as I know the save way of rebuilding for any operating system is to format a drive before you do it. I do not like upgrades which may keep prevous faults.
I have found all necessary guids for update but I am not sure should I somehow clearup everything from its memory and then perform clean firmware installation via NSU.Then I am going to use new NSU to install a new fresh firmware. In case that my phone stop to work I can use 3,*,call (green icon) and hold it. Then turn phone on and release 3 buttons when I get prompt for security code which is 12345 (as I didn't change it).
Do I need to whipe out old firmware before new one is installed? If I do please advise how? I just wanted to add that I have made backup using Nokia PC suit already. Also if there is something what I didn't say in here please advise am I going to install firmware right?
So, I cannot STAND the new SMS format with the 5.0 upgrade...its like BBM, but I want the old SMS back! Furthermore, my "beyond160" app doesn't work with it! Is there anyway to go back to the old SMS format, and if not, any tips on how to get beyond160 to work with this?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have not been able to find the answer to this anywhere on the web, and the Nokia Specifications page for the Lumia 920 lists "WMA 10 Pro" and "WMA 9" as supported Music format Codecs. Does the 920 play back audio files in the WMA Lossless format?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem that occurred today after a year of using Z2 without any issues.I've connected my phone to PC to drop/backup some important photos I've made with Win explorer (as usual, sd card, copy, paste to C:userdocumentsphoto... etc.)
And after the backup copying was complete I saw in explorer that 6 Gigabytes in Sd card were gone. I went back to see if photos copied properly and they did, but Z2 has erased also movies, settings, music and e-books from SD card... it went completely stock with only android folder on board.
Restarted the phone, see if it will recover SD itself but all media was gone, in settings, application some of the sony apps were dated to February 1970 ?!?! There was no background defocus and AR effect in 1970 right?? Scanned the phone and Win7 with Avast, Spybot 2015 and BitDefender... all devices and PC are clean and protected.
The latest FW upgrade seems to have provided the following irritating 'feature':
Whenever my Z4 loses or regains reception, it vibrates twice at me. This is very annoying and unnecessary, and how do I turn this 'feature' off?
I used PC Companion with my old Sony Ericsson phone. it was fine. had a lot of options.I bought Xperia Ray (currently running Android 4) and updated my pc companion to 2.10. the text message panel and several other stuff have gone altogether in PC Companion. all i have now is support zone, contacts setup and media go. i want text message, media transfer and all options that i had previously.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Z5C plays a sound when it loses or acquires mobile network signal. This is very, very annoying in areas where network coverage is bad. How to turn it off? I remember it being easy pre-5.1.1, but now i can't find any way to do it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk I switched this week form iPhone to Android purchasing a shiny new Z5.
Because signal where I am varies dramtically from 4G to 3G etc so just changing rooms in my house will get me this notification.
Driving to work will get me several notifcations so its extremely frustrating, especially when it cuts in to songs etc that I'm listening too as I use the phone while running, it's also my main source of music in the van.
I recently noticed a strange behaviour during standby on my Xperia neo (FW 4.0.2.A.0.42). Since I use a brand new SIM of German network carrier E-Plus my Neo seems to randomly lose network signal completely. This sometimes even happens without any change of location. However, this occurs only in standby. As soon as I turn on the screen the network signal will be re-established immediately (-> screenshot below). As I can receive calls and text messages during these 'no signal' periods I would assume a software bug. However, I didn't notice this behaviour with a SIM of Vodafone which I had in use a couple of weeks ago.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCurrently touring overseas and internal memory was getting filled with media, transferred to SD card but found an empty folder after completion. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a Z3 Dual sim D6633 and around twice a day either when receiving or making a call the phone suddenly drops out during conversation and both network strength bars are showing no signal. a message briefly shows up saying no no network signal ( or something to that effect ) then dissappears. A few seconds later the signal comes back for both sims and all is ok again. Why this is happening but its becoming frustrating especially when I have to call clients back.
