A few times a week it becomes almost impossible to answer calls as you cannot slide the unlock across the screen. Latest android 2.1 on phone, have tried repairing this and using service / app killers. It is not a dirty screen as often once you have missed the call you can unlock the screen easily.

Then, the next time I got a call I no longer had the standard HTC Sense UI Slide to answer (down to answer, up to send to VM) but instead just had the Answer and Ignore buttons. how I can get the slide back? Or, if there's another app that gives you a slide to answer? All of the apps that I've found do the opposite, and give you buttons instead of a slide, but not what I'm looking for.

Phone well cared for and never dropped, keyguard slide broke off after six months, Carphone Warehouse said it was a 'cosmetic' fault and therefore not covered under the warranty and wanted £85 to repair it. nUnlock application downloaded, which resolves most issues other than answering calls. Many of us have been there. The big niggle that remains (other than the prospect of having to give in and fork out for a repair I shouldn't have to pay for) is answering calls. This is the current scenario: Phone rings. I can't answer it in the normal way due to the keyguard switch no longer being there. So I have to flip it open, at which point the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds before it comes back on in the 'sideways' configuration. In most cases, by the time the screen has come back on and I've hit the Answer key, it's gone to voicemail. It's fiddly and annoying. So. Have I missed something in the nUnlock app that disables the keyguard switch function altogether so I can answer calls properly? Is there something in the Phone Settings that I've missed that does the same thing? Or am I just going to have to go to a Nokia shop and be prepared to argue and/or fork out some cash?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to answer any incoming calls because the display becomes unresponsive. If the screen is blank, it remains blank until the phone stops ringing. If the screen is active, it remains active but unresponsive for the duration of the ring. I'm still using Kit Kat 4.4.4.

Currently the touch screen works but there is a problem. I am unable to answer calls as the screen goes black and does not turn on again until the person has hung up or until i reset the phone. Also when i try to call out the screen turns black as well and exhibits the same symptoms as listed above.
From people who have had experience with cracked Nexus 5 screens, do you think replacing the digitizer + lcd will fix this issue or did i screw up something big

If the screen is off and resting, when a phone call comes in, you have to SLIDE to answer.If the screen is on, or I am within an app doing something on the phone and a call comes in, then it becomes TOUCH to answer.Anybody else noticed this??I hate it because the slide lock is super laggy since the update. And i have to take out the battery and insert again for it to function properly. I am in Pakistan so i cant take it to any Sony franchise.. View 4 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday all the sudden my iphone 3gs is freezing at the slide to unlock screen. You can slide it over and then after a few minutes the phone will go to the circle with the lines on it screen then all the sudden stop doing anything. If I hold the top button and home button down I can hard reboot the phone and it works again until I have to slide to unlock then it happens again. The weird thing about this is that it only seems to be happening when the phone is not on a wifi network only 3g. What can I do about this? I have the latest iOS update installed and it's been installed for a while.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI generally use the standard slide to unlock without a pattern or pin just to keep from accidentally dialing, etc. However, a few weeks ago my slide to unlock screen disappeared. Unfortunately, I do not remember whether or not this coincided with any updates or new installations of apps.
When I reboot the device, the slide to unlock screen will sometimes flicker on very briefly and then disappear. I also will occasionally see it when the phone has been idle for awhile and then I press the power button to turn the screen back on. I do not have and have never had any software on the phone that would change or replace the lock screen. I do not see an option in the security features for enable/disable slide to unlock - just the pattern or pin.
my touch screen cracked after I droppet my Xperia Mini Pro on the pavement. I can still see everything on the screen, but when I try to unlock the phone by sliding the touch screen, there's no reply. View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since my phone was updated to ICS, I've noticed that once in a while (it's probably happened 5 times now) I can not answer an incoming phone call. Usually it's while my phone is in the Droid 4 car dock, but it has also happened without it being connected to anything. What happens is my phone will ring either through the phone speakers and my bluetooth headset (if connected), but the phone "answer" screen will not pop up, and the phone doesn't respond to any type of input, which forces me to reboot my phone by holding down the power/volume down buttons. Once the phone boots back up, there is no record of who called me in the recent calls list, so hopefully they leave me a voicemail otherwise I have no idea who called me. After the first couple times this happened, I decided to perform a factory reset, hoping that this would fix the lag/freeze up issue, but it did not correct this problem. The only way that I can think of trying to minimize the occurrences of the phone freezing up/ running sluggishly would be to perform a reboot every couple days or so to clear up the memory.

Well not the camera but the camera loading screen is up. It gets stuck like that until I shut the screen off. It doesn't happen if I have a pattern lock or a pin luck. I know there are third party screen unlocks. I am wondering if there is anyway to customize the slide apps that appear on screen unlock. When I disabled stock text and got sms pro it defaulted to this. Has anyone else figured out how to customized these apps? My friend is running a JB rom on his nexus and was able to have something like 10(maybe more) customisable apps located on his unlock wheel.

SE/Google wants to make the slide to unlock available, but the way as it is currently implemented is very annoying.The on/off button already locks the screen nicely and I really don't need another obstacle to pass.On the other hand if you use slide to unlock the screen should not be black ever. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone works perfectly except I can't answer calls, when I press answer/ignore it freezes until it goes to voicemail and then comes back. I've flashed multiple roms and had the problem with all of them. I'm not using any special themes or anything, and the only software I ever install are HD Tweak and Finger Keyboard 2.1 and my radio 1.14.25.24. Here's a list of what I've done since I had the phone:
1. Bought phone. Flashed HSPL. Flashed Laurentius L26, no problems. Was being lazy so I didn't hard reset after flashing.
2. Flashed Dutty R14. Didn't hard reset after flashing. No problems for awhile and then the problem of not being able to answer calls appeared.
3. Flashed EnergyRom wm6.5 rom. Hard reset twice after. Still having problem where I can't answer calls.
4. Flashed Dutty 3.9XT wm6.1 rom. Hard reset twice after. Still having problem where I can't answer calls.
If anyone can help me figure out why my phone is doing this I'd really appreciate it, I'll even pay you some money on PayPal if you like because I really want to fix it. Here are some ideas I had as to why it's not working:
- Problem with rom flash. No, because I tried it with 3 different roms so far and had the same problem.
- Touch HD isn't fast enough to run wm6.5 and be stable. No, because I tried it with a wm6.1 rom too and had the same problem.
- Someone suggested it might be a problem with the battery. No, because I ordered new replacement batteries and tried them and had the same problem.
- Some of the settings in HD Tweak are incompatible with something in the roms I'm using. Maybe, is this possible? I don't really change much, just the softkeys and the highlight color and things like that.
- Screwed up something in the SPL or something because I didn't hard reset after flashing the first 2 roms. Maybe, is this possible?
- Dropped my phone and somehow managed to break nothing but the mechanism involved in answering calls. Maybe, is this possible?
Today I'm going to reflash HSPL, flash the stock HTC rom, hard reset twice, and see if I still have the problem. I don't know what else to do or what other possibilities there are. If anyone can shed some light on this issue, that would be great, because I really don't want to have to buy a new phone.
I had an 8 month old phone that was actingup , going to speaker phone with no buttons being pushed , couldnt answer incoming calls, couldnt see who was calling .
