I know there are third party screen unlocks. I am wondering if there is anyway to customize the slide apps that appear on screen unlock. When I disabled stock text and got sms pro it defaulted to this. Has anyone else figured out how to customized these apps? My friend is running a JB rom on his nexus and was able to have something like 10(maybe more) customisable apps located on his unlock wheel.
View 1 RepliesPrior to ICS, on the Favorites Screen in the Phone App, the people who I called regularly were only listed once, even if I had called them on different #s listed in their contact profile. Under ICS, people are listed multiple times equivalent to each number of theirs dialed. This has the effect of getting fewer people listed on the Favorites screen. Is there a way to customize this so it goes back to the pre-ICS approach of only listing an individual once?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI generally use the standard slide to unlock without a pattern or pin just to keep from accidentally dialing, etc. However, a few weeks ago my slide to unlock screen disappeared. Unfortunately, I do not remember whether or not this coincided with any updates or new installations of apps.
When I reboot the device, the slide to unlock screen will sometimes flicker on very briefly and then disappear. I also will occasionally see it when the phone has been idle for awhile and then I press the power button to turn the screen back on. I do not have and have never had any software on the phone that would change or replace the lock screen. I do not see an option in the security features for enable/disable slide to unlock - just the pattern or pin.
When my RAZR is locked, on the new Slide Lock Screen I can still pull down my notification curtain to see my notifications. I can then unlock my phone by selecting a Notification. As you can see in the picture I am able pull down the Notification Curtain while my phone is locked.

I just switched from a Motorola Droid to a Droid X2. However, the lock screen is giving me issues. If I turn on pattern lock, it still leaves the slide lock activated. On the old Droid, it turned OFF the scroll lock when pattern lock was activated. How can I disable the scroll lock while pattern lock is activated? It's rather annoying having two lock screens...
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter my last thread which pointed out I was just simply lookin in the wrong place I bet there is a pretty easy solution for this too, I just can't seem to find it.Currently when unlocking my phone, I have to do the slide to unlock, and then input my pattern to unlock. I want my phone so that when I only have to do the pattern.The security options on the phone allow for "None", "Pattern", "Password", and "Pin". It says nothing of the slide to unlock feature and I can not figure out how to turn the thing off.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI frequently hit adjacent keys while texting on my old Droid X. A larger screen and of course 4G and a faster processor were appealing as well. As the Razr HD models sport screens almost as large as the S3 I ran to see them on their first day out of the gates. What a disappointment! Holding my old Droid X up against them I saw that the usable screen sizes were identical. Namely 4.3" unless playing videos in which case the video filled up the Razr HD's 4.7" screen. I couldn't find anything else that would fill up the screen. Perhaps, photos might. But internet browsing, texting and whatever else I tried occupied a 4.3" inset within the 4.7" screen. So why have a 4.7" screen at all? The Galaxy S3 on the other hand fills up the entire 4.8" screen with not only video but everything else, including texting, messaging, web browsing, and everything else I tried. So what gives? Why did you even create a 4.7" screen if you aren't going to utilize it to its full potential?

If my RAZR is plugged into a power outlet and is fully charged, it is very difficult/almost impossible to unlock the screen. I grab the unlock spot on the left ant try to slide it to the right, but it takes several tries, using extra force to get it to slide. Underneath the slide bar I see the message that my RAZR is fully charged and to unplug it from the outlet.If I unplug it first, it unlocks just fine. Guy I work with just got a new one and it's the same way. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this? Obviously this isn't a big deal, but was just curious.
View 12 Replies View RelatedOn Oct 20, we switched from AT&T to Verizon Wireless after being with AT&T for over 10 years. We had iPhones and had to get new phones when we switched. The Verizon salesperson convinced me and my adult daughter to get the RAZR HD that had just come out and he said it was better than the iPhone. My husband stayed with an iPhone because he is a commercial pilot and needed to use aviation apps that were not available on a DROID phone. Initially we were very impressed with the RAZR HD until my daughter had a problem with hers after just 20 days of use. She is an EMT and was on duty sitting in her ambulance. She has to have a phone on her while working. She used her phone several times and had it in her front pocket. She took the phone out of her pocket to call us and the screen was black and not functioning—a few minutes before it was working fine. She noticed some spider cracks in the LCD at the edge of the screen. She took the phone back to the store where it was purchased and the Verizon salesperson accused her of abusing/dropping it and said she would have to file an insurance claim which would cost $99. I was shocked. Our iPhones had heavy mobile use and were even dropped several times, including on cement, but never failed. I told our daughter we had no intention of filing an insurance claim for a defective product that should be covered under warranty. For all we know, it had damage before we even bought it from Verizon. But when she contacted Motorola, they said a screen failure due to a cracked screen was not covered but she could send it in to be evaluated. When we read the warranty, it does not say this. It says it doesn't cover damage caused by accidents, abuse, misuse, including improper usage or operation, abuse or neglect, or impact damage, such as dropping the phone. The phone had not been dropped, abused, or misused. There is not a scratch or any physical damage on the phone and the glass. The phone failed under normal use. The LCD screen under the glass fractured. Normal use should not cause this unless there was a manufacturer's defect in the phone. I.contacted my dad who works with digital and analog wireless technologies/hardware, and he told us to file a warranty claim. He said the phone has an accelerometer in it that detects G-force and impact and Motorola should provide us the data that shows the phone was impacted outside the tolerance thresholds for normal use. Well clearly Motorola and Verizon are just scamming customers and ripping them off. How convenient for Motorola to automatically tell a client all screen failures are due to customer damage. We should have stuck with iPhones and the AppleCare. Apple stands behind the quality of their products and would have never questioned replacing a phone for a defective LCD, i.e., no broken glass, just screen failure. You get a replacement on the spot. Oh but not Motorola—mail it in and then you are without a phone for how long??? We are going on 24 days now. Motorola got the phone and sent a picture of the phone screen (included) and said it was physically damaged—said it would cost $99 to fix—interesting how that is the same amount as the Verizon insurance deductible. Really--they are insulting my intelligence... I called them up and told them to provide me the accelerometer data—I wanted proof the phone was damaged by us and not defective. They still have the phone and have not responded to my request for over a week now. I told customer service that Motorola should be ready for a fight—we will file a report with the FTC and the BBB if they don't repair or replace the phone at no cost. I am very angry about this poor customer service. If we dropped the phone and cracked it up, well that is what insurance is for and that is why we bought the insurance. I would not expect Motorola to fix a phone for free if we broke it, but this is not the case and it is just outrageous. I am worried the same thing will soon happen to my RAZR HD which has overheated while it was charging. The phone is so thin that any expansion in the case is going to put pressure on the LCD. I am wondering how we are going to make it through a 2-year contract with Verizon when the Motorola phone can't even handle normal mobile use. I used my AT&T iPhone 3Gs for over 3 years before switching to Verizon and the RAZR HD and the iPhone still works well as a Smart device for email, photos and music. Clearly Apple has a superior product and also knows how to take care of customers. We called Motorola customer service again today since we aren't seeing any information online regarding the current status of our phone, and they couldn't even tell us what the status is. They have had the phone for over 2 weeks. If Motorola doesn't do what is right, they will lose us as customers. This is so frustrating.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got my Razr Maxx and charged it before using it. When the screen time out and goes to sleep i can´t turn it back on by pressing power button. I can turn it back on by doing soft reset (pressing power button and vol down) when doing soft restart I don´t have to press pin number, as needed when i turn the phone off and back on. When the phone is in the charger there i no problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday all the sudden my iphone 3gs is freezing at the slide to unlock screen. You can slide it over and then after a few minutes the phone will go to the circle with the lines on it screen then all the sudden stop doing anything. If I hold the top button and home button down I can hard reboot the phone and it works again until I have to slide to unlock then it happens again. The weird thing about this is that it only seems to be happening when the phone is not on a wifi network only 3g. What can I do about this? I have the latest iOS update installed and it's been installed for a while.

I have seen something with rooting, and I seen something about downloading an SDK and some java stuff, but that doesn't seem secure and a lot of work for something that should be simple if possible.
I don't want to have the phone plugged into a computer, but if I have to, I will. I do not own any docks or etc, otherwise this would be really simple I know.
I was disabling bloatware apps and accidently disabled the stock browser. How to do enable it since it disappears once disabled? Im sure its simple, but Im not having any luck.

We need to be able to disable all apps that is safe to do so. Cause the three that I mention here are running all the time and I don't even use them. I've stopped them and there already running again. At least make these 3 so that they can be disabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedVerizon was making in JB was to remove their 'Verizon App' bloatware (in exchange for a boatload of Google bloatware). I had it disabled in ICS, but after the JB update (MAXX HD), not only is it still there, now it won't allow "Disable." It does allow a "Force Stop" if it's running, but no disable. The only real effect is take up a valuable icon spot on my app page, but since no one actually uses the Verizon app store, why even include it, much less put a firewall around it?

I am not to concerned about having 4g at this time, my primary use of my current Droid (D1) is so I can have my photo albums with me and organized the way i need them to be (that's why I will not get an Iphone) when I go to conventions as I need to be able to go through them with vendors. My current issue with the D1 is its slow response time when going through the albums and apps, how do you think the Razr is going to perform when dealing with photo albums and opening and closing pictures in a quick manor. The lagging is irritating when most of the vendors I deal with have Iphones and can go through the pictures a lot quicker then I can.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a few apps on my phone that can't locate the sd card. The most important of these (to me) are apps that are designed to read or import csv files and create little databases from the data.
All of them look for files on the sd card automatically and report that none are present (of course, I know they are because I put them there). One of them offers the option of searching for the files manually. When I do, instead of displaying the contents of my sd card, it displays the contents of my internal storage. I suspect that's where the apps that search automatically are looking as well.
I tried dismounting/remounting the sd card. Didn't work.
Yesterday I spoke to a second tier Motorola support agent. He tried various things by taking charge of my phone remotely, then did a factory reset. No joy. He said that in his opinion, the apps (all four of them) are at fault.
One of those apps worked perfectly under Gingerbread. I downloaded the other three when it stopped working after the ICS upgrade.
I had a similar problem with an mp3 player when it tried to automatically find the mp3 folder on my sd card. Did the same thing: examined the internal storage instead, even though I chose the option to search the external card. Fortunately, that app also had an option to search manually, and that function saw the sd card.
These data apps are very important to me. One developer said he's working on an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. The other developers haven't replied, though their sites claim that their products are compatible with Android 4.
Is this an operating system problem? A device problem? Is there a way to "tell" apps the path to your sd card? The names of the apps: Panacea Database, Sailforms, Memento, Collector.
If anyone else using a Razr Maxx running Ice Cream has found an app that can successfully import a csv file or read an mdb file (Microsoft Access) on the sd card
