Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Video Capture After ICS Upgrade?
May 4, 2012
I am having problems with my SE Xperia Pro after upgrading to ICS. When doing a video capture using the camera function, I cannot end/stop the video recording. I have to actually kill the application to sort the problem out.
After I updated my phone to the latest firmware 4.0.4, I realised that video taking is no longer as smooth as before. Does anyone face the same problem? Can anyone provide solution to revert back to original firmware 2.3? ?
I was filming my family and the video stuttered and stopped altogether after a few seconds. Then the app went to a green screen (totally green) and I couldn't fix it. I had to reboot the phone to get it to work normally. Is that normal?
Is there a way to make a video of the screen of my iPhone (for an app demonstration)? I've connected my iPhone to a projector. If this isn't possible from my iPhone, can I use the iPhone simulator in Xcode?
I wonder if it is possible to change maximum video capturing resolution (programmably) from 640x480 @30fps to lets say 720x480 @ 25 fps (720p would be beyond my expectations anyway). I guess there should not be any dramatic quality drop because of 5 fps, but the quality of picture will be somewhat better - similar to DVD resolution.
I am facing a problem when I capture a picture/video with my new Nokia 5233 phone I bought yesterday. 1. When I try to capture a video, nothing is visible on the phone screen. I click on Record button and the shooting starts and then I click on it again and it stops. But I when it tries save the video it gives an error "Unexpected error occurred. Please restart your phone". 2. I reboot the phone. But I face the same problem. I face the same problem while capturing pictures. I have tried following as a measure to solve the problem but no success till now: 1. Reboot the phone: tried it more than 20 times. Does not work 2. Soft Restart: Removed the battery for 1 minute and powered the phone back. Does not work 3. Restore Factory Settings: Restored the phone to factory settings. Does not work. 4. I checked my firmware version. Its 12.1.089, RM-625. I think no firmware upgrade is available at present Please advise what steps should I follow to cure the problem. Please also let me know in case you are facing a similar problem with your device.
Still awaiting a Lumia that supports slow motion video capture. And they all have such good camera's! Does the feature will be supported on the new handsets?
I came across a largely unpublished spec on Motodev, which is that the Razr can not only capture 1080p at 30fps but also 480p at 120fps. Link:[URL] how to actually achieve this video capture mode. A Motorola live chat rep just told me to check out these forums. Basically I'm wondering if driver support exists to the point that apps can take advantage of the functionality immediately, or if the ICS update might address this, or if it is being swept under the rug indefinitely.
[n79, latest firmware, 16 or 32 GB memory card]When I capture video to the memory card, I periodically get stutters or lags, typically during which the video capture appears to freeze. The sound recording sometimes continues in time, sometimes also breaks for a fraction of second. I have already backed up the card to a PC and reformatted the card in the phone (assuming that the phone would set up the card in a manner best suited to the device). The problem persists, although slightly less often.
Would it have been better to reformat the cards on a PC? If so, better to use a 16kb or 32kb "allocation unit size"? Neither of my cards as more than 1/3 full, so there is plenty of space. I am recording video at the phone's best quality, which is 640x480, 30 fps, and a typical bitrate seems to be about .5 MB per second. I checked out both cards using the utilty "Flash Memory Toolkit", and the minimum data file write rates seem to be about 6-10 MB per second (often 10 MB), so I don't think that the bottleneck is the card itself. Perhaps the drivers used to write to the card memory on the phone are not as efficient as they should be. Or maybe for some reason I have to stick with an 8 GB card or smaller?
i bought a motorola defy (manufactured on 2011.04) and when i rec video with 640*480 resolution. the video always jumpy and constantly drop frames. i bring back the defy to the t-mobile and ask a replacement and get a new defy (manufactured 2011.04 too) but this one doing the same. i doing factory reset, bought a new memory card (class 6 8bg a-data), but the same happening. video always jumpy and drop frames. recording with cif resolution all fine, not a single frame drop. only when using vga resolution... maybe software bug? both defy have 2.51 cee eclair stock rom and green lens camera. sample video here: [url]. i don't see the encoding artifacts on my computer or the phone so maybe the Internet conversion making that, but i wonder why always there an artifact when the picture jumping and frame drops...
After ICS update (4.0.4) on Xperia Pro my recorded video turns out laggy and skips. Things I've tried: Factory Reset on the phone Repair using Update service. I can disable video stabilization which reduces the lags and skips a bit, but it is still noticeable and does qualify as a workaround because the issue still persists and I would like stabilization. My LED only lights up when I connect the micro USB cable, is this normal? (I just got my phone and instantly upgraded to ICS so I don't know what it's supposed to do.)
In recent i upgraded my Xperia Mini pro to Android 4.0. Since my mobile is not playing video files properly, videos are all playing very slowly. Is there any option to rectify this problem? or else is it possible to degrade to android 2.6 V.
After last system upgrade, my xperia ray's video camera is not working properly. It now records in 16/9 instead of 4/3 (Letter box) and I would be glad it would work fine but since then, videos are not recorded correctly. Image is not continuous, but it shifts randomly as it wouldn't be able to record without stopping. That gives poorer videos than with previous version. Other problem I have is that welcoming message is displayed twice when phone is starting.
I dropped my phone (n85) and found out that my phone's capture key was detached and missing. Its so tiny and I can't find it anymore! THe capture key is only key that I could use to capture an image on my phone. Now I can't use the camera of my phone anymore. Is there any other key or way so I could still capture an image on my phone?or do i have to buy that tiny spare part just so i can still use the camera of my phone?
my xperia ray has built-in screen capture before updates, after i update to android version 4.0.3 . the screen capture was suddenly gone . . what happen? can it be installed again
I am observing that when I touch on screen on camera mode to take picture, it first flashes and zooms a bit and take picture.By the time it does all the actual posture is going away because of slowness. I used to observe this in other brand phones and really hard to digest in xperia neo it is happening. Is this correct behavior ? or anything can be done. Irrespective of flash light, there is couple of seconds delay while taking picture.
you ever captured an amzaing unique or funny picture or video at the best almost impossible time creating a priceless memory? .........and then for the media to not be there? well welcome to my world. my xperia x10 mini pro.....literally decides when it wants to capture the image or video. for example, sometimes i will take a photo.........the image is saved. i then go to view the image and i just get a black screen with some sort of white logo on it. which i assume means error. i cannot even find a discussion info or image on this extremely frustrating topic.
as for videos......i had recorded probably a once in a life time extremely funny occurance with my friends...........you cannot fathom the amount of anger i felt when i opened the video to discover it freezes at PRECISELY the funny moment and then stops. another video simply told me..
How can I get a screen capture application without rooting my mobile? None of the application works for my x10! I'm having the latest update, which is ginger bread.
I was able to watch videos with .flv format in Anna OS, but after upgrade to Belle, I am not able to play the videos.s there any specific video software do I need to install or Belle doesn't support FLV format?
I have X10 mini pro and was wondering if there is any way to take video out of the screen to stream it over projector either by bluetooth or micro USB support. Also any chances of netflix access through the existing browser?
Are we not allowed to screenshot things from Netflix? I can usually screenshot whatever, but now with the new update, whenever I try to screenshot from Netflix (Mostly awesome quotes from Breaking Bad) it says that "cannot capture screenshot. Storage may be in use" ....
Is there a way that the galaxy s5 can capture raw images? Its available on new devices and i had read before that Android Lollipop will support it natively.
