Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Update To Android 4 In A Unlocked Bootloader?
May 6, 2012
I'm trying to update my xperia pro using SUS but I get a message "the phone software has been modified" and refuse to check updates. I unlocked the bootloader a few weeks ago. What should I do?
I have rooted my phone with .42 firmware. The problem is that it seems like I have an unlocked bootloader so, when I update OTA to .62 the phone turns into a brick!nothing works. I have no idea how to upgrade to .62 while keeping the roo
I forgot my unlock pattern and I don't have my device in ADM ... But the bootloader is unlocked, so I think I can install any image I want, right? Could this be a way to get into my device? So any solution to unlock my device without doing a hard reset?
I just want to ask if there's a way to find out if my bootloader is unlocked? My TrackID stopped working when my friend borrowed my phone and upon searching here the only possible root cause it by having the bootloader to be unlocked but when I checked if I can update my phone via PC Companion it works fine loading and updating my FW/SW and now I really don't know what happened to this phone. I'm afraid that my friend did something to it and maybe he really unlocked my bootloader.
What I know is that the phone can upgrade into ICS using PC Companion, but what I would like to know is whether it's possible to upgrade my phone using the PC companion even if I have its bootloader unlocked. Since if I accept OTA upgrade, it might result to bricking it.
I have rooted and unlocked bootloader xperia neo v. I can't turn on it.I'm using custom rom and kernel. It doesn't respond to power button, you can hold power button as long as want and no vibrate or red led blink. I tried to repair via update service, but it can't find my phone... Phone looks bricked..

There is the encryption key. This is not anything groundbreaking for the average user at this very second, but what it does mean to the average user, eventually, is that after Sony Ericsson stops releasing full version updates for our device (which is VERY likely to happen after the GB update scheduled for next month) The great people over at XDA developers will be able to provide us with full version updates that do not lack any features like they have to date. For example, when the 2.1 update was released, the devs at XDA got their hands on the code and released 2.2 for x10. However, the camera driver needed to be re-written for it to run at all...and even then it was not HD until recently because of a bootloader workaround. Now that the bootloader is wide opened we will see more updates, native wifi tethering, and if the hardware can handle it, we will see updates to full 4-point multitouch and 16million color displays. This also means we will be able to get full MIUI and CyanogenMOD support, and if you are really daring, you may even be able to make your x10 run WP7.Good things will come from this....development is still in the infant stages as this was just reported yesterday.
I am a Milestone user and I want my booloader unlocked. I live in Romania and I have to inform you that you are in breach of the Romanian Constitution. My Milestone is not carrier locked and my owner rights are guaranteed and protected by the Romanian Constitution.
Well I wanted to start a poll, but the forums wouldn't allow it.Anyways lets send Motorola a message why us "The consumer" would like the bootloader unlocked.
For those of us wishing Motorola would unlock the bootloader like HTC, it looks like AT&T is cracking down on HTC. I've been reading the new HTC One or X or whatever it is, running on AT&T will not be able to use the unlock tool. As HTC is losing market share I guess they just don't have the juice they once did with the US carriers to
The world knows updates in a Motorola phone is very slow! This leaves power users with no other option but to go for custom ROMs. Even there locked bootloader is always a very big problem! Moto promised long back to unlock bootloaders. Defy and Defy+ are now quite old phones and will receive no update either! So now is there any hope that the bootloaders will be unlocked? This deters most devs and power users from getting Moto phones inspite of an excellent build quality. Hope we get a reply and this thread don't die without any use!
After i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone, everytime i boot up my phone i have this msg and then the phone start, how do i get rid of this msg?
Cannot seem to flash factory image from Google. Trying to do it via adb but cannot push onto device. Says "cannot open no such file or directory". What can I try?
I unlocked the bootloader with the service provided by SE, then rooted using the zergrush exploit. Now I can't update the firmware from 4.0.2.A.0.58 to 4.0.2.A.0.62. Using OTA, it downloads and reboots, then says update failed. Using PC Companion it does pretty much the same, but the program says the phone contains altered software that can't be updated.
how to get rid of this ICS update and update into the old android version. I am having some serious problems whith my phone after ICS update (physical keyboard not working, problems in adding phone contacts, reboots after every app close, acting slow).
Currently my android v 2.3.4 and Build version 4. How can i update android v4. Android v4 is available now? If it is how can i update? When i updating is it losse my existing data?
I have been trying to update my x10 from 1.6 to 2.1, however even when i follow the videos which have been posted i cannot for the life of me work out how to get it to update to 2.1. It just keeps saying that it has the most up to date software and thats it, and my phone hasn't updated!
I have just brought a Xperia X8. I am trying to upgrade it to Android 2.1 from 1.6. Both Pc companion and Update services both say my phone is up to date.
Everytime that i try to use the Android market it comes up "Sorry! The application market (process.com.vending) has stopped unexpectedly."And now that i have tried to update the phone to the latest software it wont let me
Okay, so I have received my Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 today, and I just looked and it has really old firmware as for a 1.6 OS. Okay, I called Customer Support, and they told me that the Firmware isn't released for US AT&T yet, and they are currently working on it. Well I WANT IT NOW, i mean i have seen firmware 2.1 and it seems legit and I don't want to do a generic or flash(or whatever its called) because I don't wanna mess up my phone. and then not be able to download the actual firmware, or crash my phone and break it ya know? Someone make me feel better about all this because its an amazing phone!
