Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Set Ringtone For Contacts & LED?
Sep 8, 2012
after upgrading to 4.0.4, i've experienced this. I've set a ringtone for a contact, but when I touch on DONE, it resets back to DEFAULT... AND I DONT LIKE THAT... I'm used to different tones for different person. And I wonder why, some songs have the name repeatedly twice/ three times in my player...
I had to download an update from Go Media but this wasrelated to video. To solve it do I need to buy a new SD card or is there something else I can do,
I own a 5800 ExpressMusic and today I've upgraded my firmware version to latest. The problem I will explain still is not resolved.
1- Change the ringing tone to some mp3 2- Edit a contact to have a name like 3- Let that contact call you
The phone rings with the default tone (not the mp3 it was set to). The only way I found to correct it is to revert to more humanly names in contact list. This will be more annoying for people who save their friends with IM nicknames that contain lots of special characters.
i just got my bb 9780 days ago. does anyone having the problem of assigning ringtone to a specified group? assign for only 1 contact is working fine, but only the group.
i'v follow the instructions below,1. On the Home screen, click the Sound and Alert Profiles icon.2. Click Change Sounds > Sounds for Contacts > Add Contact Alert.3. In the Name field, type the name of the contact alert.4. In the Contacts field, type the name of the contact.5. Click a contact.6. Change the ring tone and alert information for calls and messages.7. Press the key > Save.To delete a contact alert, highlight the contact alert that you want to delete. Press the key > Delete.im having the problem on step 4, once i scroll down to the Contact field, the highlighted is disappear, i couldnt get to set any contacts from there.anyone is having the same problem?or maybe im using the wrong way to assign a ringtone for a group?
I have tons of contacts and don't like the quiet tone that's set on my new phone. It will take hours to do individually so need to learn how to do all at once.
I have a Sony Ericsson Elm. I use it for both business and personal calls. I see I can set categories of contacts and set different ringtones. What I would like to do is, say, when on holiday/weekends set the phone so that I do not hear a ringtone for work related numbers. I would still like to receive the call (go to voicemail) but not be notified when the call is actually incoming.
Ok so my wife just got a 8530 like me. She originally set the ringtone for sms to one. Then changed it to another. Well the new ringtone she set for that profile, is not showing up for all contacts. It is still showing old ringtone! I tried switching but still stays the same. Only way to change is by individualy contacts.
I recently got my new Motorola Razr HD (XT925) running JB ver 4.1.2 but can't for the life of me work out how to set music stored on my device as individual ring tones for different contacts.
This option just doesn't seem to exist on this phone model but i was running the XT915 and could choose individual music as ring tones from the set ring tone options.
I assigned individual ringtones to my contacts in contact list but when they call, the default ringtone is ringing.Does anyone know how to fix it? I guess this situation accured after I erased everything on my iPhone and installed backup from my computer. I searched everywhere on internet but couldn't find anything, and then this idea came up; I deleted all the assigned rigntones, created a new backup on my computer then deleted all contacts and installed the backup but still when I assign a ringtone to a specific contact it's still ringing default ringtone when she calls.. Btw I also checked for duplication errors, there is only one for each contact..
Every time I hook my phone up to my computer, my ringtone changes to the first song in my playlist instead of the mp3 I want. This is not exactly desirable. I think it has something to do with the "disabling"of the SD card while connected to the computer, but I don't know for sure.
This is an unusual situation. I have this ringtone that is a song about a cartoon character. Some kids texted it to me and I saved it in my ringtones folder. Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through. If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?
i bought a ringtone that was delivered by text from cellsea. i thought it would show up in Ringtones in settings. It didn't. How do you get the ringtone into the ringtone library so it can be hooked to a incoming ring
why I have to re-set my downloaded ringtone everyday. It seems to disappear everyday.I have the Sony Erricson Xperia X10.Is there a setting that I am not seeing?
When I go to "Sound & Notification" and adjust ring volume to max, the sound is pretty low no matter what ringtone I'm using. This is the volume it will use when I get a call.
Then, when I go to "Phone Ringtone" and then "Sound Picker" and listen to the same ringtone at max, it is much louder. This is the volume I want when the phone calls.
I know how to turn the ringtone, but it doesn't work... Not with the zoom button on the right side of the phone, not in the drag down from the top of the screen... Not even in settings...  Also, in settings the "Ringtone Volume" -option is light grey, as if I could not use it...  The phone can make sounds though, so it isn't a speaker problem or something...
When choosing the ringtone from the setup menu. The preview sound was large enought. However, during call-in the ringtone is about 70-80% of the sound compare with the preview. It happen on notification tone!
I just got a Sony Ericsson Xperia x10. The website and online guide suggest that all I need to do to set a track as my ringtone is to do so. I tried a few times and can't seem to. I'm a Rogers customer. Are they blocking me from doing something my phone is supposed to do quite simply? Or is there some way to set the song as my ringtone?
I have a cool ringtone after update to ICS 4,but after go to settings there no option to choose it again.Menu for ringtones shows "ringtone unknown".Where can find this ringtone and set it again?
I have recently received the 5.1.1 update with the new firmware. (build number 23.4.A.0.546)... Ever since I updated the phone, and despite having the ringtone volume set to the maximum level, my phone is always silent. Notification sounds are working properly; however, the ringtone issue persists even after I made a hard reset using Sony PC Companion. I have missed many important calls because of this issue and there seems to be no solution.
In the menú Sound and notifications -> ringtone for the call of phone, i have select "forever" to search with file commander a ringtone, and now i can't see the list of the ringtones installed in the phone. How can undo the "forever" selection?
I have had my new Sony Z5 for 3 weeks, and I was wondering if I could set a different ring tone for the Kik app, on my old iPhone I could set different ring tones for different apps...
I've been using a ring tone that I downloaded when I first got the phone. I've now lost it - not quite sure how, either because I moved all my music to the SD card - I've now moved a tune back from the SD card to the internal memory but can't figure out how to set it as a ring tone. When I go into Settings / Sound /Phone Ringtone it comes up with 3 options :- File Commander, Media Storage and Sound Picker and I can't see it
i want to disable that when i recive a SMS from a contact that i apply a specific ringtone, i hear that ringtone and no the default SMS notification. I know its possible without installing anything else but i can find the option.how to disable custom ringtone from a contact for SMS notification.
