i have been trying to upgrade my xperia pro mk16i to ICS but every time it just goes to prepaering anf then our online servers are busy please try again later since 4 months no way i refuse to believe come one sony i spent alot of money to buy your phones so give me a better answern?????

View 9 Replies View RelatedFinally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..
I received a message on my XPeria Mini Pro about the 4.1.B.0.587 Update. In fact, I can not install it. When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?

I was trying to update my X10 for pinch zoom It says certification error and the updates getting disconnect. I checked my system firewall and my modem firewall too everything is perfect. And I tried with my friend's machine there too I am getting same error.
I contacted Sony Ericsson customer care regarding this, they replied go and update ur phone in service center. Too bad they didnt tell me why I was not able to update my phone.
My xperia neo SI number is 1246-9893 purchased in UK and using in India right now. Some how I was managed that PC Companion recognizes my neo tried for update.After multiple error messages from PCC i.e "unable to connect to server" it showed software is upto date.I searched other thread and SI number is still not exits.Would like to know delay of providing 4.0.4 update for some SI numbered phones are because of considering fixing bugs raised by users who has updated their neo phones?It seems people are facing issues from every corner of phone with ICS update.Are these things are considered while providing ICS update for remaining NEO users ?

Q1] why it is not showing update available when try to update from phone? Is it not fully released/ not compatible/ any bug/error ?
Q2] If i update to Ice Cream Sandwich and if any problem occurs then can i revert back to an old version of android i.e gingerbread.?
The Sony PC Companion has started showing that an update is available for my xperia pro as soon as i connect it. I happily selected the update option and on the first attempt it downloaded the update which took more than 10 mins in my case. Then it reboots the phone in the flash mode i believe and when it's time to install the update, simply comes out with an error that no update is available for your phone.

I deleted the file in the Update Service folder, re-downloaded, and reinstalled so many times, tried setting the PCC to check for updates every time phone is plugged in(which it said on the SE website, but isn't an option at all. Could anyone perhaps shed some light. I am getting pretty frustrated with all this nonsense.

my pc companion say new software is available for your phone ...and when i try to do dat at step 2 (i.e after prepare step ...)when im done with step2...xp shows SMEC Flash drive detected...and den nothing hapens ...the comp gets stuck after 10 min after saying .. i never moved from step 2 (except the first time i updated)i read sony ericson blog and tried SEUS also ...(thr to i get the same problem) ...i have tried these in my laptop also(same things hapen)i uninstalled my kaspersky antivirus and also disabled firewall i disabled firewall in my modem also .. im stuck at this for a long time ...i did not update nything after my first update from 1.6 to 2.1 in jan1 .

My SI is 1252-4364.2, and it isn't listed in the SI list for now, I don't know for what region is it that SI, but my mobile operator already launch the release.The update here in Bulgaria(with thoose that are with Mobiltel for oprator) reseaved the update in the late April, I still haven't it.. View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my phone I went to settings > about phone > software update > update now. It told me there is an update for my phone and I should update it using SE PC companion. So I opened PC companion, connected phone, mounted it and the PC companion told me there is a new update for my phone.
I pressed update, followed all the instructions on phase 2.
Then PC companion entered phase 3 of the update and imidiately gave me the message "There are no updates available for your phone".
So now it remained 1.6 and when I try to repair it gives me the same message as stated above. Now the PC Companion, 'settings > about phone > software update > update now' and even SE update service tell me my phone is up to date...
I have Windows XP, and I live in Israel if it metters. I checked my SI and it is 1232-4285 and it is in the list of kits that have already gotten the update.
Is there anyway I can update my X10, with a mac?
