Jul 19, 2012Why can't I access to WIFI? It always shows "Obtaining IP Address". I was using it in the morning then when I come home, the problem occur.

Xperia Z2 :: WiFi Stuck In (Obtaining IP Address) Loop
Jul 4, 2014I'm new to the sony franchise and I'm very impressed with the Z2. The only problem I have is that my wifi keeps dropping on my phone and then it gets stuck at "obtaining ip address". What I've done is: reset my router, "forget" the network on my phone, reconnected the wifi. I've also rebooted my phone, this connected to the wifi successfully, but disconnects after a while again. I disabled stamina mode and all other power saving options, but nothing worked.

Apr 15, 2012I got my neo v can't connect to any wifi spot..if it was connected, but it will state that connection limited and can't connect to internet and then after few second it will terminated and continue obtaining IP address. This problem will continuously repeated..its happened not only at my home, but also at other wifi spot. So I am stuck using this smartphone.

Jan 27, 2014I bought a Nexus 5 about 15 days back. I am very happy with the phone - except for the fact that I face difficulty connecting to my Home Network in particular. My Windows Laptop, My wife's iPhone and iPAD connect to the same WIFI almost instantaneously. However, my Nexus 5 phone keeps saying "Obtaining IP Address" endlessly. At times, it says "Weak Signal - Cannot Reconnect" and gives up. However, all other mobile devices show that the signal strength is good. the phone does connect to the WiFi after sometime by itself.
I do not have this problem when I am at my office. It connects immediately to the WiFi in my office.
The Router setting at home is as follows :
Mode : AP
Band : 2.4GHz (B+G+N)
Channel Width : 20/40 Mhz Auto
Channel Number : 11 - 2462Mhz
Broadcast SSID - Enabled
WMM - Enabled
Authentication - WPA-PSK
Cipher Suie - CCMP

Sep 19, 2011I have several wifi devices (laptops / tablets) that connect without a problem to my home WPA2 secured wifi network.The photon detects this network and will connect to my home network, BUT ----Implied Profanity Removed---- there are many occassions when it will try to locate the router and try to connect but always loops with "obtaining IP address" -The only solution I have for the photon to connect is by manually rebooting or turning off/on the router, disabling photon wifi > re-enable photon wifi > select my home network and it will connectI have a static IP address for my main router connection and have assigned a DHCP range from : 192.168.31 - 192.168.254 with a lease expiry of 24 hours.
The router and my bandwidth (24mb down / 1.5mb up) has been going strong for a few years.What setting am I missing here or need to modify? I never had to reboot or reset my other wifi devices to ever connect, and I just changed the DHCP range to the above again today. I had a channel setting of "6" and changed it to "11" now also...Once the wifi is connected to the photon, it will stay connected for the most part, but if I leave the home or perhaps overnight the wifi gets disconnected resulting in me having to reboot the router, disable photon wifi, re-enable photon wifi for it to connect

My xDSL provider provides me with a wireless router which I have been using for ten years with no problem. I get 5 public IP addresses and when they are all assigned to MAC addresses I simply restart the xDSL modem to connect a new device. The following happens when I connect to my xDSL WiFi connection.
1. I have to enter the WEP security code (why doesn't Satio remember this so I don't have to enter it each time?)
2. It gives the message 'Connecting to my Wifi node'
3. It gives the message 'Checking internet connectivity' (I am assuming it is checking to see if the IP address is assigned)
4. It tries to go to my homepage www.google.com (shows a blank screen)
5. Then it times out and gives me an error message "Internet: No gateway reply" HOW DO I SEE WHAT IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY MY WIFI NODE?

Mar 24, 2012I have a strange issue with my xperia pro.Since a week back i am not able to access the internet through wifi across all apps except for the Good email application!Xperia pro is not the issues since I am able to access my emails via Good all the time.My router cannot be the issue since on all other devices (ipad, iphine, pc, laptop) i have full connectivity (both Good and all other apps).

Feb 12, 2015I'm using my laptop as an internet hotspot using program mHotspot. I'm connecting to this network using another laptop and my Xperia Z2. I was using it for like 2-3 weeks already and everything were working fine but suddenly it stopped working correctly, I mean my phone doesn't have internet anymore. I doubt it'd be a problem with that program because my second laptop has internet access all the time with no problems.
Every time I'm trying to load some site (google, youtube, anything) I'm getting an error: This web page is not available. I can ony Reload or Show details. I click on "Show details" and it says that the server can't be found because the DNS look-up failed. There are some solutions to this problem but none works, I tried them already.
On the bottom of the page it shows Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG.
Okay I get it, its something with DNS configuration but I can't figure out whats wrong. I tried changing DNS address in wi-fi settings but it didn't work.
Looks like its a problem only with my internet browsers (I tried using both Chrome and Dolphin browser) since other apps which uses internet connections (like Skype, Facebook messenger) works fine (except for that avatars are not loading at all).
Also I'd like to add that I wasn't changing any settings on the phone before the error appeared. I was browsing the internet at the evening and at the morning it wasn't working anymore.

May 22, 2012I've been trying to tether my Sony Erricson Xperia Neo to a laptop pc. Android OS.I first tried USB tethering but my laptop had no internet access, so I instead tried setting up a portable wifi hotspot to see if that would work. My laptop recognised the network I had created and I joined it succesfully, but I had no internet access. (Note: When I used USB tethering another network was recognised by the laptop)
I checked my phone and the 3g icon which shows that mobile internet is enabled (the two little verticle arrows with 3g above them) were not visible, but when I disabled the wi-fi hotspot, the icon appeared again. I'm not sure whether this is normal but could it be that 3g is being disabled with the activation of hotspotting, or is it just hidden automatically when wi-fi hotspotting is disabled? I find sometimes that the 3g icon disapears for no reason in areas I previously have had good signal, and then when I try and connect it takes a few seconds and then the icon appears again and I can connect.
