Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: SD Card Gets Filled Up With Duplicates Of Image?
Mar 24, 2012
After I upgraded to ICS on my Neo V, I noticed that my SD card was getting full without my doing anything. So I checked out in the file manager app what was taking up all the space and I found that in the DCIM there was a folder by the name of .thumbnails which I thought stores, well, the thumbmnails of course. It initially had 2 copies of every image on my phone and was taking up about 35 MB, so I deleted all the files. No issues there after. But the folder just keeps filling up with as many as 5 copies of every thumbnail, so I have to clear it when I start running out of space. The last time I deleted them, they were taking up about 60 MB of storage. This did not used to happen before I upgraded to ICS.

I recently got a 128GB MicroSD card for my Lumia 950 (AT&T) and I ONLY have pictures on the card. I DO NOT even have the pictures in the "Pictures" folder because then the Photos app will never properly update/sync and I DO NOT use the card for Apps & Games but... Every time I check the storage in the Storage settings, it says I have 4GB of Apps & Games data on the card. I check later and it says 7GB of Apps & Games data is on the card. I still have my phone as the default save location for everything. And so I go into that section to see if I can delete anything but it shows nothing to delete. And it keeps increasing. And it continues until it takes up the rest of the space on the card and can't fit anymore data. YES, I know Windows 10 is an unfinished product.
I copied from my old phone to the PC, and then to my X8, some pictures from my contacts. They are under the DCIM folder in the SD card. When I edit a contact and choose to add a picture, I can't add those pictures. The following things happen:
If I choose to use the internal Album application to browse and select the pictures, it shows all the photos I took with the phone's camera, plus several others that I don't know where they came from. It doesn't show the pictures I just copied from the PC to the SD card. But the ones that are visible can be selected and used.If I choose to use a file browser (such as OI File Manager) to browse and select the pictures, I can browse to the SD card, under folder DCIM, and see all the pictures, but that I took with the phone and the ones I copied over from the PC. But once I select a picture it just does't go to the contact. The contact editor still show's the default picture of a silhouette, and won't use the picture I selected. So,
how can I add pictures that I moved from my PC to the SD card as contact pictures?Where are the pictures stored in internal memory? Where are all those fancy silhouettes kept?
I have tried to delete duplicates, i have also unchecked faceboodm skype, google, and hotmail, but still most numbers and e-mail adresses come up double!
What is image cache folder in my memory card? When I take pic from my cell phone, sometime the pic get saved in new format instead of jpg. Sometimes, I am unable to see those pics n to save them at my PC...
just got new iphone 4s running 16gb. I have few applications(facebook, bible, webster dictionary) and games( 5 )installed and around 120 pictures and 3 short videos . Im wondering why the memory went down to 4.8gb? How could it happened ?
I've had my iPhone 4 memory fill up with 19GB of "other" memory within a week. I just restored it to the factory settings, and put back only a few songs, pictures and a few selective apps. Yet within 24 hours I have 7GB of "other" memory. How do I correct this?
I just tried to backup my phone on my PC using Kies. I excluded all the media files because I have them on my PC anyway, and not all that much spare space. However, then I started to get an error message that my PC was low on disk space.
I checked and my free hard drive space had gone from around 6GB to about 60 megs.
Does anyone know where the Kies backups are stored on my PC, so I can see if the backup was the culprit?
I just got my iPhone 5s today, and already it is full, there are no photos/videos, only a little music (like 200 songs) and some apps. On iTunes it says it is full of 9.45 GB of "documents and data"... WHY? how can i free up more space??Â
I am using N97 rom 02-Aug-09. everything was working fine untill i notice tht my phone memory is getting filled up although i never installed any application & i hv set my default memory as mass memory from the very beginning. for nokia care in india the only solution is format/soft.update. moreover they couldn't even trace where the memory is occupying so that it could be set free.
I have xperiaz2. i have set x-reality for mobile/Super Vivid mode in Image Enhancement option. But whenever i have put the my phone in charging on next time i found Image Enhancement is in off state.
I normally use a rectangle cropped image for my contacts but since I'm using.Google Contacts now to backup and sync my phonebook, I notice that the contact images are cropped to a square. Now this may have been fine but it's positioning the square image on the top left in a very unpleasant manner. People without contact images have the default picture centered and positioned nicely.
a couple months ago i finally decided i needed to get a new phone becase it seemed the camera on my old w810i was starting to out - it wouldnt focus very well and the camera button wouldn't snap a picture too reliably anymore. I figured it was probably because i had taken thousands and thousands of images over the time i had the phone since 2006 - i think the last image i took with the 810i was named something like 'dsc06912'. I'm in the US and att is my provider, so i 'upgraded' to an iphone4 but returned it after a couple of weeks primarily because i learned i really like a dedicated camera button. So I switched to the SE Vivaz with no iphone restock fee - nice. I really liked the vivaz hardware size and camera but that symbian os just didn't cut it, especially after using the iphone and the wifi internet experience was pathetic...so after i couple more weeks turned the vivaz in for this xperia x10 - with a restock fee tho.
one of the things thats bugging me about this x10 is that the image filenames keep getting reset each time i download and erase the image files from the phone microsd memory card. in the w810i, even when i did this the filenames still incremented correctly when i took more pictures, thus I new that 'dsc06912' was the 6,912 picture i had taken. with this x10, it starts over at 'dsc_0001' everytime i start taking pictures after downloading the previous batch of images to my computer. (Even the Vivaz continued to increment correctly after i downloaded the images - i guess thats one good thing the nokia folks got right since i believe the w810i used symbian like the vivaz.)i have looked and looked through all the places i can in the x10 android 1.6 os and can find no where to make the filenumbering not re-set.
SE Xperia Neo V Camera sets file name with a prefix and ordered number. The problem is that after I move photos from Neo to a PC, the numbering next photos does not continue, and start anew. I this way I lost a few photos while uploading files to PC. This name method is correct or not? Before SE Xperia I had Nokia smartphone, so it was add in the file name, except for the odered number, the date + time with seconds.
We all know that Neo V will compress all the pictures that were taken. So when we zoom the quality of picture diminishes. Are there any apps that will enhance the image quality that got compressed ?
I have a us unlocked version of the d6603 and noticed after a super clean install....(factory reset, then installed updated software .232) the camera seems to overall have much more noise in the image.... Where as photos before the update were much cleaner and had much less noise... Right now it's almost like it has artificial film grain....
The only thing I haven't tried is the factory reset that you do when your battery is above 80 percent..
I have used Sony Ericsson phones for years and all my previous phones have had a feature on the camera whereby you could zoom in on a photograph you've taken, and then save the zoomed/close-up image as a seperate photograph.
If this feature exists on the Mini Pro, I certainly can't find it. I took a photo with the camera of something quite far away. The camera will let me zoom in on the bit of the image I want to see, and will allow me to view it, but I want to save the zoomed image. The far-away image is useless to me.
I couldn't find the Image stabilizer option in menu in my xperia mini pro after upgrading to 4.0.4 /.587 build. Does any know where can i find it and how to turn it On.
Can't seem to find it after the update and other users have also reported the same. Why was it removed? Â Or does this mean that there's no need since by default, the Z5 already has a hardware stabilization mechanism (closed-loop actuator) in place?
My cellphone is currently showing me no image, but the touch works. The issue started on saturday( i didn't drop the phone or got it into water or anything other than the usual use)Â i went to lockout the screen and i didnt see any image after a few seconds the screen started showing image no issues. but today when i woke up i went to check the cellphone and the screen didnt show image at all no matther how much time has pass. The model is D6503 ....
Recently I am facing this problem in my Xperia X10i. The recent caller photo gets recorded, and when the next call comes, I get the photo of last caller, though the caller number is the current one.
how do i get my images on my wallpaper to have the central part of the image in the centre of th home screen part of the wallpaper? I hope this makes sense. I mean so I dont have to scroll along to see it, I would just like it to fit my home screen!
Whenever I download an image or get it via bluetooth, my whole gallery disappears. All the pictures and videos. I have to turn my phone off a few times or dismount the memory card a few times. And then they come back including the new picture. How do I avoid this. It's killing me (and my blog =P )Btw if I open and close the gallery a few times it starts working again. I just realized this.
