Motorola Xoom :: SD Card Mounted As Read Only After Upgrade To ICS
Mar 3, 2012I just got my Xoom WiFi back from Motorola repair - it somehow had a latin american ROM on it and wasn't receiving the ICS upgrade. Well now it has ICS and, for the most part, everything is fine. I am having problems with the SD card though. This is an SD card I used when I had Honeycomb on the unit. I was able to write to it just fine back then.
I took it out before sending the unit in for repair, and I put if back after receiving the unit back. After reinsertion, I can see/read all of the files that I had on there from before, but I cannot write/edit/delete anything on it, and when I look at it in a file manager, it shows up as read only. I removed the card, put in in my PC (with an adaptor) and reformatted it, still read-only.
While it was still in the Xoom, I connected to my PC and was able to access and even write to the card from my PC. But I still cannot do anything that attempts to write to the device from Android. I think the ability to write to the card from the PC indicates that there is not an issue with the card. I think the issue is how it's mounted. But I cannot find a way to mount it as writable unless I root my Xoom (which I'd rather not do).

Mar 23, 2012I have 8520. Its a couple of year old device. It has started giving some trouble nowdays.
1. trackpad hangs most of the time
2. It takes almost 20 mins to reboot
3. the biggest issue - it doesn't starts with BIS activated sim card after rebooting. Have to do battery pull out 3-4 times then it works.
I have done master reset couple of times but nothing is working. any one suggest something which will help me resolve it on my own. Otherwise have to give it to the service center.

I tried calling boost mobile to get puk code which i got but mssg stated unable to change pin. i cant for the life of me get the mobile network to come on. I have my work emails going to my iPhone too. At work, I use Outlook. When I read a work email on my iPhone, and I get to work the next morning, there it is, bold and unread. I really want it to show as read. I get an obnoxious amount of work emails. The whole point in keeping up with them on my phone is to save me time in the long run. So, when I get to work and have to re-read them all, I've saved nothing. Dec 20, 2010I recently updated to 2.12 on my X10 (Ireland). Everything went ok with the exception of contacts. I used the backup and restore application prior to the update and backed up everything. I have the (well documented) problem of "No Contacts - Cannot read from SIM... - My Number" - also, my number "unknown" in Settings->Phone status etc.
The solution, as posted in many internet locations, is to get an old Sony or Samsung and edit "My Number" on the SIM, save and re-install into X10.
I cannot get an old Sony or Samsung phone. When I use back and restore->restore contacts = no success. Also, I tried using the import contacts->SIM Card from phonebook/contacts menu = No Contacts on your SIM card.
