I just tried to install the Ice Cream Sandwich unofficial firmware and when I tried to reboot it got stuck on the Sony Ericsson screen. Taking out the battery doesnt help, neither does doing any combination of buttons to get to the boot menu. I have Clockword Mod Recovery, but I cant reach that either. I did keep backups, but since I cant reach the phone in anyway, I cant enable them.
View 1 RepliesI have k750i for a long time and it was working very well . I was not making pictures for a while , and now when i try to make a picture :
1.open camera ( on back ) ==> am in camera mode
2.i press button for making pictures
3. i see grin spot in upper left corner
4. spot blinks few times ( i hold picture button )
5. i hear a sound, but then picture is not "frozen" on the screen? when i look in folder with pictures there is no picture What could be a problem ? Am i doing something wrong ? Could it be a problem to button that's makes pictures ? Is there any other button that i can use if this one is not working proper any more?
I turned my phone off then on. In the process of it starting up it kept on turning on and off by itself. I had no chance to do anything before it wouldn't turn off again. The battery said it was full but everytime it turned back on I could see it was loosing life. I went to plug it in to charge but that wouldn't help as it wouldn't charge while it was turning on and off all the time. I tried to take the battery out. I have taken the memory card out. Now it has frozen with a white lit up screen.

The screen had frozen, and the buttons had no response. The screen then exploded in a rainbow of multicolored dots, like that on a TV with no signal, before turning black. Now I cannot turn the phone on. I have tried taking the battery out and replacing it, and charging it, and holding the power button for ages. I have also connected it to the computer via the USB cable, but there is no response on the computer or phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Sony Xperia Play & I love the phone minus a few things and one of them is the screen brightness, I just updated to the latest OS and It is very annoying when the screen is so dark until you hold it up to the light and then it is bright again, This was to be the replacement of my X10 and if I could get the screen brightness issue fixed I would be a happy camper. I searched and see there is only one fix for it right now and that is to root your phone and apply the fix but I do not want to attempt to do that quite yet. If anyone has heard if Sony plans on fixing this or if there is another way around it please let me know for I am still looking at the new Samsung Galaxy II Infuse 4G which was my other option other than the Play.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi bought a sony ericsson xperia x10 mini a couple of weeks ago, works fine but i was downloading live wallpapers from android store and there was one called DIY wallpaper and it made the lock screen look like an iphone one. so i installed it and it asked me if i wanted to change my home screen to the new one and i clicked yes, then my screen went black. I can use the drop down bar but if i click on a notifcation in there nothing comes up on the screen. I can see the start up screen and all that and the unlock screen it all works just no home screen. Ive tried reseting by holding lock button and home button for 4 seconds it resarted but it was the same i could only use the drop down bar.and one more thing, ive connected to computer but i cant get it to do the usb connect because i cant click it on the phone screen.

I press the power button on top and get normal buzz then Sony Ericsson in white letters on black background and stays there. Tried reset by turning on top button whilst holding middle button, no good. Tried holding back button whilst plugging in usb charger cable no good (LED wont even come on to indicate charging) tried with sim card in and sim card out, no good. Tried with memory card in and memory card out, no good.
Wanted to load new firmware update from SE support site - before I have updated with no problems held back button whilst plugging in usb cable and released back button when told me to on screen but now it seems there is a different way to update through pc companion now, well it tells me to pull down the notification bar but how can I do this if the phone wont even get to the normal screen with notification bar? How can I go back to the old way of updating firmware using SE update or do I have to do it through companion software now.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am the owner of a Sony EricksonE w580i which I am very happy with.However 2 days ago, out of the blue after sending a text I was faced with the message which I had never seen before. " REPLACE SIM OR WATCH DEMO" Despite playing the demo several times and taking out and replacing the sim several times, I was faced with the fact that my phone was locked.On replacing the sim I noticed that it was pushed into position by the battery itself, thats the way it had been set up by the Orange Shop. so it was like on a spring and the battery was pushing it into its working position.And this is the root of the problem. The sim card has to be pushed home until it clicks into position. I have small fingers and I still could not push it to its fully seated and clicked position with my fingers alone.eventually I managed to do it using the edge of a small screwdriver, but even then it took several tries before it clicked home. I believe this is a flawed design as it is not easy to do by any means. And yet using the battery to push the sim to the seated position is the way it was et up for me at point of purchase and this also gave adequate contact for me to get uninterrupted use for several months. But this is NOT correct, the Sim must be clicked and locked into position so it is no longer movable on the spring mechanism.Once it was clicked home - Hey presto ! like magic, everything worked perfectly, only had to reset the date.However, and quite worryingly, when I called the Sony Erickson help line befor I found the magic solution, I was advised that to overcome the locked system and to bypass the dreaded message, I needed to go to the Sony Erickson site, go to support and downloads then click on Update your product software/Update Service.My friendly support advisor said this would overcome the problem but the downside would be that I would lose all my memory ! I would have to start again, Calender, Tasks, Notes, Contacts. everything.This would have been a heavy price to pay, for a non solution ! Clearly the advice was a shot in the dark from the advisor ! I had already downloaded said updates as a matter of course 2 months ago so I was sceptical of solution that SE had suggested.No, this problem is mechanical/circuitry. NOT SOFTWARE !
The sim card is not locked home unless clicked, do not depend on battery pressure. Thus the phone when in "battery pressure mode" may have a circuit or a partial circuit, leaving the user at best to be in my situation to get several months of usage, and then kaputt ! as the circuit is lost and the phone thinks it needs re setting up. and it gives the message you can not get past. or the worst case of continual working /non working scenarios, which are linked to the partial contact and partial circuit.I think this may also be the route cause behind many other of the problems raised on this forum, ie; Phones turning off, or just a red light, or just a slight vibration, or phone behaving like it's dead, or phone locked etc.(from other posts it appears all the above issues are are further "encouraged" by a low battery charge) which seems to be a separate quality issue altogether.So at the end of this ramble - the tip is make absolutely sure the sim card is locked home, be patient, you may have to try many times, but it will click home if you use a tool to assist you, (fingers are not enough) and you may well just solve your problems too.Essentially I think the phone is a very good mid range phone and this design fault may be hugely tainting its performance /likability.If Sony Erickson are listening? they will correct / make easier the sim card clicking action, They will also instruct the help desk to give out the "clicking the SIM card home" advice.Rather than the totally useless - download software advice which will do nothing to create a good circuit, but will ensure lose all your information unless backed up somewhere. And while SE are at it they should also re work the battery life AND the cover panel removal. To get the back panel off is a nightmare and can lead to creating other damage as such excessive forces are required. Not good at all - BAD COVER DESIGN
X10 stuck at "sony ericsson" boot screen...Then it shows an image of camera with blue arrow down pointing phone... after it shows "Sony Ericsson" boot screen again, what follows black screen like being shut down. Looks like the battery consumption is increased, cause in couple of hours it starts beeping red light... Today is 4th day since it`s started.

When I try to go to the software updates on the W760a hompepage, it loads a blank page. i think i didn't miss anything but still its not responsive. It does sometimes response but if i do restart battery pull, open back case its unresponsive again. According to my knowledge its not a hardware issue as if its hardware and need new one i already tried that its software issue and it seems that entire screen is selected when i try to neviggate through the gaming keys. I am still unable to belive that sony ericsson has still not provided any fix for the issue. If anyone has any idea or any third party software for screen please advise.
Recently my c905a has become unable to playback certain videos, the last 20 or so i have taken. The videos can be played immediately after recording, but later if attempted have a broken film icon instead of thumbnail and if tried to play the message "Currently Unavailable appears". This is not consistent however, a few videos in the middle of the 20 are playable. Their sizes are all varying, settings on each video are the same. I thought that they were possibly not playable on my phone so i moved them onto my computer - same issue, E.M. Total Player fails to open the videos. I hope someone can help me with this. I was counting on these 8.1 MP to record some good material for an oral presentation and final presentation for the chinese class i'm taking right now. I picked up great material, the base of the two projects. These projects are 40% of my grade and need to be presented in 2 and 3 days! How can i salvage these videos? Every video lists appropriate size, what else should i look for? How should i go about fixing this?

However, on the bigger time and date that "floats" on the touch screen it is still reading 9:43am with yesterday's date which is the 29th of sept. Then when i want to change my phone setting to either vibrate or silent....again, the smaller notification is correct but the big setting that "floats" on screen keeps telling me its on vibrate when i try to change it.

I can access the camera by holding the button on the side, I can access the drop down menu/settings, but that's it.
I have tried holding the power and volume up buttons for 10 seconds; the phone turned off, the time reset, but then went back to normal (time). Still no home screen.
