when i turn my phone on it get to the part where the screen is black and it says sony ericsson in the middle of the screen.. And thats as far as i can go... should i just connect it to my computer and update it using Sony PC Companion 2.1?
View 9 Repliesi bought a sony ericsson xperia x10 mini a couple of weeks ago, works fine but i was downloading live wallpapers from android store and there was one called DIY wallpaper and it made the lock screen look like an iphone one. so i installed it and it asked me if i wanted to change my home screen to the new one and i clicked yes, then my screen went black. I can use the drop down bar but if i click on a notifcation in there nothing comes up on the screen. I can see the start up screen and all that and the unlock screen it all works just no home screen. Ive tried reseting by holding lock button and home button for 4 seconds it resarted but it was the same i could only use the drop down bar.and one more thing, ive connected to computer but i cant get it to do the usb connect because i cant click it on the phone screen.

I turned the phone off so I can turn it back on. It took a long time to turn off and then the apple logo would stay on for about 40 seconds and go to a black screen. I could see the phone was on but the screen was just black. I plugged my phone into my computer and it says i must restore it but I really cannot lose my content on my phone. What should I do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone looks like a tiny brick now. I can't reset it, I can't upgrade/fix/repair because it's stuck at the SE logo. It happened after internet browsing I've been prompted to forcefully close the browser, then later on it wants me to close the SE home app, then finally it's reset and I can only see until the SE logo.
I tried removing the battery for more than 10 secs, pluggin the usb cable while pressing back - still can't connect to pc. I tried holding down power+home, nothing.
Is there a hard reset button somewhere I can use? I'd rather reset everything with all my data than send it over to SE support since that means it'll take weeks with no phone

I dont know why buy my phone screen has started playing tricks on me, it either stays black (I can see that there is power to it but its not showing the normal screen), or it goes a bit muddled (lines though it, or it is off to the left or right, or only half screen is showing). Strangely, when it is staying black I can tell that it is working behind the scenes as if i tap the power button twice the screen powers off, then if i tap it again and press the bottom left it unlocks the screen (the screen looks like it has power but is still black) I can tell the phone is working as if i press the menu button it vibrates when i touch places where the menu options are. if i keep turning the phone off and on or locking and unlocking it will eventually work - but this can take anything from 1 attempt to 20 or 30 Then when the phone comes on properly it can go back to being black or garbled again in seconds or minuits, ocasionally hours.I got the phone less than a year ago (about 7 months - not long after it came out i think) - i have the box but no receipt.

The phone is previously thought to be liquid damaged but atleast starting up now. Taking out the battery doesnt help, neither does doing any combination of buttons to get to the boot menu. I have Clockword Mod Recovery, but I cant reach that either. When I came back it was stuck on the white loading screen and a message on the computer said iTunes could not connect to the Iphone because it was locked with a passcode and wants me to enter the passcode.
