The Brightness On IPhone 5 Is Dim And Nothing Works To Brighten
Dec 2, 2014
I've tried restarting my phone, turning it off and on, charging it to 100%, and changing my brightness settings…. Nothing is working. My phone is still completely dim and the back light isn't adjusting anymore. This just started happening today, maybe like 2 hours ago. i cannot see anything on my screen.
I got the phone off of Craigslist and the person said the phone was in great condition but the screen is so dim I can barely see the icons under a light and was wondering if maybe the LCD was broke or had water damage or something
I have an s5 and I use the the stock texting app, message plus (Verizon). I know how to change the background pic, but it is always dimmer than the original. Not the biggest deal, but is there anyway to make it as bright as the original pic or is it intended to remain a bit dimmer?
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.
My S6 keeps randomly changing brightness even though auto brightness is off. And so I found this option via search within settings, which may very well be exactly what I was looking for but couldn't seem find it in the settings menu in developer option(which has already been enabled).....
My phone has been acting up since installing the latest iOS 7.1.1. The back lighting for the screen works intermittetly. I have been able to get it to come back on by turning the phone off and back on, but not every time. Once I enabled VoiceOver through Siri and turned ScreenCurtain On and Off. Other times, just clicking the home button and a few times on a notification that would turn the back lighting on. The phone seems to want to respond to turning the back lighting on, but does not do it every time it should. It usually takes 10 - 30 minutes of me working with it to get it to come back on. The phone has not been dropped and is in an Otterbox case.
With my old Xperia Z1c, when adaptive brightness is on and the environment light is darkest, the screen brightness may be adjusted to, let's say, 0. Even you drag the brightness control bar to leftmost, the dimmest brightness you can get is still 0. But in Xperia Z5, you can go dimmer than that with the control bar, and this dim cannot be achieved using the same control bar if you disable the adaptive brightness. If one component cannot do something in manual mode, should not be able to do that thing in automatic mode either. So I believe that this is a bug.
I need a way to reduce the backlight more than software will allow.I usually use my phone in the dark, and it is ridiculously bright. There is also a noticeable flicker in the fluorescent backlight.I am almost tempted to pop the thing open and either install LED backlighting or pop a resistor in there. If anyone knows of anything to help, please let me know.
When I bought my first iPhone (4) I never knew the auto brightness actually works straight away when you walk from a bright area to a darker one, or vice versa. I had an issue with the home button and later my Phone provider swapped a new one for me. This replacement iPhone 4's auto Brightness actually dimmed in lower light areas noticably and in real time. It was really handy and the way it should work.
I recently upgraded to iPhone 4S, and noticed that the auto brightness doesnt change. I checked with my wife's iPhone 4S too and its the same problem. So, I want to know, does it actually change like the miraculous replacement iPhone 4 I received or is auto brightness a "meh" function that I shouldn't expect it to change. The reason I am asking is because I find in darker rooms, the iPhone is way too bright and I have to keep changing the brightness manually.
Everytime I do this I always see the Auto Brightness funtion on and its starting to bug me that it doesn't work like my old iPhone 4 did. Can someone explain if Auto brightness actually work?
On my iPhone 4s i have turned the auto brightness feature on but it does not seem to work so i wanted to know how to make it work. when i have my brightness on 100% it does not work and then i tried puting it on 50% but it still does not change automatically like it should.
i want to brightness the image when button clicked and then set to normal when 2nd time button pressed in iphone. i have the following code, but it is crashing:
Since this morning, my iPhone 6+ does not get the screen to full brightness. Even when setting full brightness and taking attesting off it is not full. You can see that when changing from portrait to landscape mode there is an area at the bottom that quickly appears on full brightness. How to get it back to normal?
I was playing Angry Birds this afternoon but my iphone 5 screen brightness just went black. I tried to higher my brightness to the max. but I can still barely see my screen. So I rebooted my iphone by pressing the power and the home button. The phone rebooted but the brightness was still sooo low that I can barely see.
What brightness levels are you guys using with the retina display? Since we get a larger battery is anyone taking advantage and cranking up the brightness?
This screen is beautiful but I did notice it's VERY dim at the 50% stock level outta the box.
Is there a way to have a slider for the brightness of my iPhone on the dock that appears when I double tap the home button? The iPad has this, I don't understand why the iPhone wouldn't as well...
While I'm here, what's with the "auto-brightness"? I have it on, but my iPhone never changes brightness on its own...
On my 32G iphone 4, the auto brightness option gives a very dim screen in a dark room. Tried to search a little, seems many users reported the same behavior. I wonder if this is the same to every iphone 4 out there. This is very annoying, making the phone almost unusable in dark environment.
How can we get shortcuts to settings on the homescreen - network, sounds, brightness? 5.1 did away with them. Why? Some clever developer thinks people don't want them? Or don't use them?
I purchased an iPhone 4s from Sprint shortly after it came out. I have been able to make calls from nearly anywhere -- I rarely encounter any deadzones. As of today, when I try to make a call I hear 3 short beeps and the phone quits. I've tried to call the iPhone from a landline and get voice mail only. What's going on? I did not intentionally make any changes that I'm aware of. I was able to make a call from my bluetooth equipped car today.
My iPhone 3GS is being delivered to my house and I've got a virgin UK sim. I want to weather it will work as people on the net say that it does work and others say it doesn't.. I think that the device is on ios4.3.3 and wanted to see if it would work and also would it work on ios5 n if I ave it a go and it didn't work could I restore it to ios4.3.3...
My iPhone 4S has recently developed an issue where it can browse using safari and opera and download via the app store fine on 3G or any cellular data network, but not on wifi. It finds and connects to wifi networks but does nothing with them. It is most annoying as it is proving to be rapidly costly and a pain to use now.
I've tried the reset, forget this network, phone off and on, reset the router etc, all other phones and devices fine except this iPhone.
My iPhone 4 only works on speakerphone. If someone calls me, and I answe, they can't hear me until I put the phone on speaker. I'm not always in a plae where I can talk on speaker :). I took it to an apple store about 8 months ago and of course, it worked just fine for them while I was there. I need this phone to work as a phone, at least until I can upgrade in September.
My Iphone 4s only works when plugged in. It shows a red battery low icon and works when on the charger but does not charge and shuts down the second that it is removed from the charger.
There has been a number of reports that the iPhone 4 micro sim does not work in the iPad. I have just got my O2 uk iPhone 4 micro sim to work in my iPad and this is how. On your iPhone 4 go to settings> general> network>cellular data network and make a note of the cellular data APN, username and password. Then remove your micro sim and put in the iPad. It will appear not to work. However go to settings>cellular data>APN settings and insert the settings you noted down from the iPhone 4. It will work and you can use you iPhone 4 data account.
