Is there a way to have a slider for the brightness of my iPhone on the dock that appears when I double tap the home button? The iPad has this, I don't understand why the iPhone wouldn't as well...
While I'm here, what's with the "auto-brightness"? I have it on, but my iPhone never changes brightness on its own...

With my old Xperia Z1c, when adaptive brightness is on and the environment light is darkest, the screen brightness may be adjusted to, let's say, 0. Even you drag the brightness control bar to leftmost, the dimmest brightness you can get is still 0. But in Xperia Z5, you can go dimmer than that with the control bar, and this dim cannot be achieved using the same control bar if you disable the adaptive brightness. If one component cannot do something in manual mode, should not be able to do that thing in automatic mode either. So I believe that this is a bug.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWondering if anyone else if experiencing this. I've replaced it in the mm dock several times and it is so dim I can barely see it. I have tried setting the display brightness to max and setting it to auto with no effect.I've set the night mode brightness on the mm dock setting to as bright as it can get with no change. BTW it is 1:30 in the afternoon. Interesting that at night when it should be dim it is as bright as it can be. Checked the clock and the DX2 knows the correct time.

In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?

I'm all for multitasking, and I realize how important it is to get to it easily - but seriously.... I use the double tap to favorites as my primary function for placing calls (my primary function of my phone).
Is there a way in iOS 4 that I can retain extremely fast access to my favorites screen? Tripple-Tap? Etc?
I know after a jailbreak i'll be able to customize the "activator" but I find it frustrating that apple took away one of their easiest features. The first launch of the iphone (sw 1.0) didn't have a favorites short-cut and I remember how badly it was missing!

Is there a way to completely disable the "double-tap" home button to start the iPod on the iPhone?
Currently, I have the double-tap to open up the camera.......however, when the phone is in lock mode and the home button is double tapped, the iPod turns on.
I don't want the iPod being activated by any means other than tapping on the iPod app icon.
Ok, so now our options for double clicking the home button are Home, Search, Favorites, Camera, iPod, and now multitasking??? 6 options? And if we DON'T want to use double click to go to multitasking what happens... we just lose multitasking all together? Many people have gotten used to and like being able to use the double click for our favorites or for the camera... and now we need to ditch that if we want to use the most desired feature of 4.0??? really? I mean, REALLY? It just seems like a pretty clunky afterthought to throw another double click option at us. Surely apple could have implemented something nicer.
Personally I think for multitasking they should use some sort of 3 finger gesture. Either a 3 finger swipe up (and keep the dock-like implementation apple chose) or a 3 finger zoom out (which would then zoom out to showing all active apps at once. imagine the tabs view in mobile safari.Additionally I think apple should add a dedicated camera button. That would solve the other double home button issue and this would make the iphone much more usable as a camera.
I'm working with a friend this morning whose iPhone 4 is in a strange mode. When any icon is pressed - whether it's an icon for an app, the battery symbol, the slide unlock, etc... a border appears around the icon when pressed and icons will not open unless double tapped. The phone is also running unusually sluggish.
