There has been a number of reports that the iPhone 4 micro sim does not work in the iPad. I have just got my O2 uk iPhone 4 micro sim to work in my iPad and this is how. On your iPhone 4 go to settings> general> network>cellular data network and make a note of the cellular data APN, username and password. Then remove your micro sim and put in the iPad. It will appear not to work. However go to settings>cellular data>APN settings and insert the settings you noted down from the iPhone 4. It will work and you can use you iPhone 4 data account.
I have the iPhone 3GS, iPad 3G, iPhone 4 and a micro sim adapter.I would like to use the new micro sim from the iPhone 4 to use on one of these three devices at a time as I choose. Is this possible? I'm aware of the changes to the iPad APN that needs to be made. Also, if the new micro sim will not allow me to do it, can I just cut my exising sim from my 3GS and use on the iPhone 4 instead? Main concern is AT&T detecting and either charging me additionally or disabling data plan on my account.
I was wondering if I can activate 2 micro SIM cards on my iPad 3G. is that possible? I'd like to activate one on AT&T for the US and 1 in Canada on Rogers.
I have a 3GS, it was jailbroken for me, but not only that, it was running on Ipad software. I was told the reason was at the time there weren't any hacks for the 3GS software due to the 4 being out and the ipad as well. phone ran well no issues. Finally have a computer, a iMac to be exact. I've been syncing without problems. Today, I updated my iPhone. I was told not to. but forgot since I had the phone "worked on" last year, and really wasnt thinking. The phone was restored to factory settings, I can get as far as the wi-fi set up. But I can not activate the cellular part of the phone. On iTunes, its saying there isn't a sim card installed. I took it out and reinstalled. Still nothing.

how the safari histroy on an iPhone, iPod and iPad works? I have children that use these devices and would like to be able to keep a track of them and what they are doing but I can't figure out how the history works, are they deleting it or is the device, I know my iPhone deletes the history on it but I have no real idea how it works or when it does it.
My phone has been acting up since installing the latest iOS 7.1.1. The back lighting for the screen works intermittetly. I have been able to get it to come back on by turning the phone off and back on, but not every time. Once I enabled VoiceOver through Siri and turned ScreenCurtain On and Off. Other times, just clicking the home button and a few times on a notification that would turn the back lighting on. The phone seems to want to respond to turning the back lighting on, but does not do it every time it should. It usually takes 10 - 30 minutes of me working with it to get it to come back on. The phone has not been dropped and is in an Otterbox case.
I have been reading reviews that the iPad camera connection kit no longer works with the latest iPads, does anyone know if this is still the case or has the issue been addressed/fixed?
Want to get a headstart on a memory card for my 9800. All the literature about specs refers too Micro SD not Micro SDHC. Are these inter-changable, It seems tougher to get a high capacity Micro SD?
just purchased the new iPad but have pictures on an iPad 2 that I am going to give to my son. How do I transfer the photos from the old iPad to the new one? Thanks.
How will I get my Micro-Sim from AT&T. I pre-ordered my iPhone from Apple and I have it shipping to my house, how will I get my Micro-Sim? Will it be sent to me by AT&T or do I have to go to AT&T and get one?
So since the iPhone 4 will have a Micro SIM, how will I get my info and stuff off of my current SIM card and put it onto the Micro SIM? I am most likely going to order and have the iPhone 4 shipped to my Apple Store so I can pick it up first thing in the morning. Will the Apple Store be able to transfer the cards, or will I have to go to the ATT store later and have them do it? Also, think ATT would charge me anything for doing it? Thanks Guys.
I am planning on upgrading to the iPhone4 on launch day, or as soon as I can after. However when I am going out and having a few beers I like to take an old phone with me so that I don't need to worry about getting drunk and loosing it.
Obviously with the iPhone4 I will no longer be able to just switch the sim card like I do at the moment. I have searched on the internet and found this product http://www.noosymicrosimadapter.com/cp/html/?39.html
This would be the perfect solution for my problem, but I can't seem to find any online store that sells it. I was wondering if anyone has managed to get hold of one or knows of anywhere that this can be purchased?
I am getting the iPhone 4, but I am keeping my JB'd iphone 3GS to use MyFi to connect my iPad when I am traveling. With the new phone it uses the micro sim, is there such a slot that will fit into the regular sized sim card and hold my micro sim?
I've been wondering about this. So, when I receive my new iPhone 4, I am assuming that it will have the new micro sim already installed in the phone. I won't just be able to pop my old regular sim into it. I'm thinking that I will go to iTunes to setup the new iPhone 4 and do all of the rate plan setup and somewhere along the way it will transfer my current phone number to my new iPhone 4's micro sim. Do you guys think this is the way it'll work?A drawback to this new micro sim thing is that I no longer will be able to swap the sim from my iPhone 4 to any old phone that i may wish to use for whatever reason. But I'm thinking that there will be adapters that will work just fine, so that won't really be a problem. Just throwing this out there.
I sold my iPhone4 to stay with my 3GS. ATT said I need to get a new sim to keep my 3GS since I had to activate my iPhone4 which wiped out my old sim. Do I ship the iPhone4 with the micro-sim or no?
I'm using my husbands upgrade to get the iPhone 4 & was wondering if I am going to be able to use the Micro-SIM that comes with it on my line or will it be activated to his line? Oh, & I will be pre-ordering from Apple online.
i just cut up a verizon sim card and inserted it into the phone and it says no sim card. i didnt cut any of the gold contact. i have a regular tmobile sim that is active and i wanna use it in my iphone 4 but im worried if i cut it up its not gonna work
What happens when you “reactivate” your iPhone 2g with the i4 micro sim and micro sim adaptor? Wondering what happens with the data plan if you change over to the iPhone 2g in case of emergencies/unforeseen circumstances, or if you need a phone that is more acceptable for loss or damage. Will this change the unlimited aspects of the plan? Does this re-sign you up for 2 years from the reactivation of the 2g, or does it just continue service as one would think it should, as there is no subsidy or contract renewal going on.I know its early, but has anyone tried this yet?
Assuming att makes this a poor choice for users to swap phones when it is advantageous , what are the option for making the iPhone 2g compatible with the new micro sim and the i4 simultaneously? Is JBing and unlocking the 2g a option to make the sims compatible simultaneously? Can anyone definitively answer this question at this point? Also a side question, I know I will want unlimited data for the foreseeable future, are there any precautions that I can take to lock myself in so att cant change my unlimited data to a limited plan? I have heard that some have called in and requested that there be a note on the account that no changes be made to the data plan without written conformation, is this a prudent solution to the issue?
Just got my iP4 in. Before activating it, i wanted to make sure the micro SIM would work with the adapter (i bought on ebay) in my 3GS. Well, as the topic says, it's stuck in the phone.I'm sure it'll come out eventually but this doesn't seem like a good option to move back and forth between phones!
Totally stupid question but I have been sitting here with my iPhone 4 for an hour now and I'm still figuring out, how to get the micro-sim tray open? I'm using the pen that was in the package, yet it seems the port is totally stuck. What to do?
It does the job! Cut an old T-Mobile SIM down to microSIM proportions. The fit is really close with the microSIM tray on iPhone 4 so you have to use your thumb to click the newly created microSIMs into the tray, but it will ensure a very secure contact and no wiggling in the phone. You have to give the stapler a good squeeze to get a clean cut, and normally after it pops out the microSIM result, the stapler is stuck and you should manually pull the top part back up before you can slide out the remains. Not a big deal, however.
Also, I'd recommend getting micro SIM to SIM card adapters because the two plastic ones included are so flimsy and could not easily fit in my iPhone 3GS I tested them with. With other SIM phones, I doubt they'd be a problem but last thing you'd want if you're going back and forth between iPad/iPhone 4 and a previous gen iPhone is for the adapter to get stuck and have to take the phone apart to get it out.If you don't want to invest in "micro SIM to SIM card adapters," save the remains of the original SIM card (to the left in the picture) and pop the microsim back in there, then secure it with a layer of scotch tape to make sure it doesn't fall out. That should do the trick and work as if you didn't cut it at all.
Anyways, this will be a great companion for when I go to Europe soon. I don't have a lot of faith in there being an abundance of prepaid microSIM cards at carrier stores. Also, last thing I want to do is mess up a prepaid SIM card after filing and cutting it manually, only to have to buy another prepaid plan. This is a good on-the-go solution.
i have just recently upgraded my phone contract to the iphone 4s, i inserted my micro sim (first one i have had) its been in the phone for about 2hours now and it still says no service, i need to make calls and send texts but i am unable to do this.
Since the new iphone4 is going to have a micro-simcard. if you already have an iphone but you want to pre-order the iphone4. if you preorder it and get it shipped to your house, will it come with a micro-simcard or will you have to go to att or apple store to get one?
I preorded the iPhone 4 yesterday and got a confirmation email saying that once the phone is shipped they will send me "additional information, including your phone number." I realize that the SIM cards are different but am I going to have to "change" phone numbers? Will there be a way to transfer my phone number to the new phone? I'm getting the phone shipped to me and I realize all of these issues would be dealt with if I just picked the phone up from the store.I really don't want to do the cutting of the Mini SIM mod I've seen around the interwebs.
i got my new micro-sim from O2 and want to setup my new sim card. I want to know how do i take the contacts stored on my sim and put them onto my new sim card so that i can still use my new micro-sim with an adapter in other phones and still have my contacts with me!?
I know itunes will prob sync contacts to my new iPhone 4 but want to have them on my sim. Just afraid that when i activate micro-sim and the other one is dead then i will lose all my sim saved numbers.
Basically i want all my numbers to be on my new sim card so that when i go out i can take my card out of my iPhone and into my spaer w800i phone and still have all my contacts phone numbers rather than a blank sim..please help as i'm sure others may want to know the same.
I am from India and was using Vodafone earlier and recently took BSNL 3G micro sim card. My IOS is 5.1 and phone is 4S.Everything is working fine expect Facetime using mobile number(Facetime is working for my Apple ID)I searched Google for 4-5 days for solution and tried all options. Yesterday, I restored and installed as a new iPhone. So whenever I try to activate Facetime, it sends an international SMS costing me Rs. 5. But my iMessage or Facetime doesn't activate at all and shows the message "Waiting for activation" When I login using Apple ID, i can able to use Facetime but not using my phone number. I tried different solutions found on the internet but with no luck. The message is sent to UK number but I never receives any reply or any further message from Facetime.
