It's still good and I cannot use it now I have moved to New Zealand from the UK, because it is locked to Orange - who can afford Orange roaming NZ to UK! I cannot afford a new phone either, anyway I like this one. I have heard all about unlocking procedures and they sound a bit scary. What do I do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my k500i for about three years and I like it more than any other phone that I have played with. One thing that I found frustrating, though, was the lack of a "pause" function on the video player. I am posting this information in case it is useful to other k550i users. I used to play videos by going to File Manager --> Videos --> Select Video and was frustrated by the lack of a pause function on the player. If my viewing was interrupted I had to miss some of the programmer or start over. Just today (three years after getting the phone!) I read the manual closely and it looked like there was SUPPOSED to be a pause function. Indeed there is! If you select Entertainment --> Video Player --> Select Video to play a video (instead of the route mentioned above) then the Pause Button (on the left side of the screen) works as it is supposed to. There is a bug in the software that the pause button is not enabled when playing videos via the other route. I hoe this post helps SOMEONE out there.! Let me know if it did.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriends SE K550i died yesterday. If you try to start it it flashes red a couple of times then nothing happens. I have read about this and I thought I could reflash the phone to see if that fixes it. I have tried with XS++ and when I press 2 and 5 and connect the phone the program reacts but it stops at "Protocol Version 3.1" then nothing happens. The phone doesn't react when I put it in the charger so perhaps the battery is all drained too.

Required Items
1) Sony Ericsson Phone with CID up to 53
2) DCU-60 Cable or DCU-65
3) Internet Connection
4) Charge your battery!
How to do:
I Take No responsibility if anything goes wrong
1) Google up Omnius Server
2) Download the application (will link to rapidshare)
3) Extract the application with winzip or a similar program
4) On the website click "Register for application" on the left hand side
5) Go to your email check your junk mail as well (MUST validate your username & password)
6) Load up the application
7) Click on "Settings" then pick "Server Settings"
8) Put in your username and password you made earlier with "Register for application"
9) Now choose your Phone model on the top left hand corner "Tested on my rogers C905a it works 100%"
10) Click on "Unlock" and choose "Unlock Network lock by reset"
11) Turn off your phone, take out battery
12) Press and hold 2 & 5
13) Wait and wait and more waiting patiently
14) Turn your phone back on
15) Press > * < < * < *
15) Press right, star, left, left, star, left, star
16) Go to Service info pick "SIM lock" and now it should be all unlocked.
About 3 times a day it unlocks and calls somebody up. Well it's not a software fault, it's just because I hit a button and the inside of my pocket just touches the screen and it unlocks. I saw on the xperia you have to slide your finger to unlock it, that would do the trick.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues...
1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it.
2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.
Please help someone I have encountered my first Elm problem. Over night I charged the phone & this morning it's still charging & will not pass 66% charge. I took battery out put back in & charged with the phone off for another hour. When switched back on it was now @ 65% This was after another hour of charging with the phone off. I then did a master reset of all not just settings. Charged it up again for a further hour & still the charge is not increasing. Please help what the hell is going on? This battery has a mind of it's own. I have a feeling something has occured since I kept plugging & unplugging quite often the phone in & out of my pc. So maybe it's caused this I do not know. Then I noticed the applications I had installed in the memory card are not longer displayed on the screen, and when I try to take a photo it says there is no memory card and that they will be stored in the phone's memory. what happens when I receive my shinny new iPhone 4?
I currently have the iPhone 3G and of course lots of apps, videos, music, contacts and so on.
I pre-ordered the iPhone 4 for delivery, So, when the new phone arrives, do I sync my old iPhone 3G and then plug in the new iPhone 4 and restore from the iPhone 3G backup?
I am asking because I don’t want to screw-up the new phone when I get it.

I upgraded to a 4S from a 3GS, and I'm trying to unlock the 3GS after receiving the unlock eligibility confirmation email from AT&T, get "unable to activate" message upon restore. With my pending delivery for tomorrow, I was wondering if someone can either help point me to or provide a detailed step by step procedure in the deactivation of my 3gs to the activation of my 4.
I believe I want to restore my 4 with my current 3gs settings in order to save everything; I am also giving my 3gs to another non iphone user on my family plan so I need to wipe my 3gs and get it ready to be activated by them.

I recently had my XPeria Z2 fixed after 10 months of it having a cracked screen and not working. So when I finally tried to update to the latest software it turned off and now the red LED light comes on, the Sony start screen shows up and then I get a message saying the update failed.Â
I've seen that this has happened to a lot of people and it's been fixed with repairing the phone through Sony Bridge for Mac, and I've tried countless times to repair it but the connection procedure (connecting the cable and holding the volume - button) does not work at all.Â
