I'm trying to unlock my Iphone 4 version 5.1.1, I have an OK from AT&T to unlock, the question is Can I use Tmobile unactivated sim card just to proceed with the unlocking procedure?

It's still good and I cannot use it now I have moved to New Zealand from the UK, because it is locked to Orange - who can afford Orange roaming NZ to UK! I cannot afford a new phone either, anyway I like this one. I have heard all about unlocking procedures and they sound a bit scary. What do I do?

When I put the unactivated sim card into my tour and switch it to GSM mode, I get the sos symbol. This card has been activated under prepaid but I believe the activation ran out since I never bothered to add money to account. I just wanted to see how AT&T's signal compared to Verizon's. My question is does the Sim card have to be activated for you to be able to view the carriers signal? My Tour is unlocked.

A friend of mine has an older iPhone (I'm guessing it's an 'original' iPhone,running iOS 3.1.3, using his ex's PUK card, but I could be wrong about that).He's using his ex's card because he inadvertently locked his original card sometime ago and forgot his password. Is there a way he can get it unlocked, possibly using a 'generic' "universal" password so he doesn't have to use his ex's 3G card (supposedly, his old PUK was a 4G)? He's used quite a few of the attempts he has to unlock it so far and only has perhaps 2-3 more tries before the car locks permanently.

I have two questions:
1. Do I have to tweak the settings?
2. Would this work if the blackberry 9650 was activated on the sprint now network?

My question is not so much the hardware. I can wait for SD card & 4G LTE. My main issue is that that major content providers are ignoring Honeycomb and the Xoom. I regularly watch news sites. When I saw the majors launching the iPad app, I though the Xoom was right behind it. Nothing on the horizon.How can we get the developers to port to Xoom? I can get my eMail on the Android. I don't want video feeds on the Android, rather the Xoom.

I have a Verizon branded 3G Xoom purchased from Motorola on the first day available. I have not activated the Verizon service and use the Xoom on Wi-fi only. My question is I have the airplane mode on with just the wi-fi radio on. Does this affect the update? The unit will more than likely look like a wi-fi only device to the update servers?

I've searched around and haven't found what I consider straight forward information. So my question is do I use the Pwnage tool to modify a 3.1.2 firmware and then restore from that, then use RedSn0w to unlock again?
If I use the Pwnage tool to create a custom IPSW, do I tell it to activate or not?

I currently have the iPhone 3G and of course lots of apps, videos, music, contacts and so on.
I pre-ordered the iPhone 4 for delivery, So, when the new phone arrives, do I sync my old iPhone 3G and then plug in the new iPhone 4 and restore from the iPhone 3G backup?
I am asking because I don’t want to screw-up the new phone when I get it.

I am running Ovi Suite on Windows 7 Home 64-bit and keeps on crashing. when i open it i get a message that says sth like "Ovi stopped working. windows: there is a problem that prevents the programme from working properly" etc. (i'm translating from italian). Full stop. Nothing more, nowhere to click. There is no error message.I saw this thread (/t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/Ovi-Suite-keeps-on-crashing-version-2-2-0-245/td-p/730687) and tried to follow the procedure but this does not apply to my case because:
1) there is no such thing like a window dialog suggesting "Check online for a solution and close the program" AND "close the program".
2) there is no such thing like "View problem details" etc.
