The conversation tab has just disappeared from my phone for no apparent reason, I use it all the time and find it really handy but when I checked my messages yesterday it wasn`t there any more. I`ve tried turning the phone on and off and taking the battery out but nothing helps. am I missing something obvious?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using this w595 phone for less than a year, and it started having problems. At first, i used my cable to send lots of songs to my phone. It didn't work, and my 2GB memory card spoiled. I had to transfer stuff to my phone by bluetooth. A few weeks later, i used the cable to transfer my photos to my computer. All my music suddenly disappeared. After i restarted the phone a few times, my music came back. The latest problem that i could not put up with was that all my games including the default games, disappeared after i transferred photos from my phone with the cable(again). I did not eject it properly. I tried restarting my phone several times, but it still didn't work, can anybody help me?

Then a few minutes later all of my messages disappeared! So now I have no contacts and no messages. I got my mum to call my phone and it just came up as her number, I then pressed to view my call list and it said it was empty!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am about 12-13 months in to an 18 month contract with 3. My W595 has recently started to play up. It is a random occurrence so I cannot just take it in to a shop and show what is happening and going wrong. I have over 290 contacts and details in my phone. Sometimes when I reach for my phone and press the down button to get to my contacts there is nothing there apart from New Contact and My Numbers. All of the contacts have disappeared. Not only do the contacts disappear but so do all the stored text messages that I want to keep a bit longer before deleting. Fortunately I meticulously back my phone up using PC Suite so at least I can get them back again, but that in it self has it's problems, which I will explain further down. My contacts are stored in the phone memory, (there too many to store on the SIM). All other data, such as the calender, photos and notes remain intact and OK, I can only surmise that this data is stored away from the phone memory on the SD card so it cannot "disappear" in the same way.
I have reported this to 3 tech support but all they do is get me to check for updates to the phone software, (which happens to be current anyway). I just reinstall using the update facility and be done with it. The crazy thing is that because my confidence level is so low at the moment, I have to cart my laptop with me when I go away for wekends, just in case I lose everything again. The phone and the laptop have to be kept together for obvious reasons. The problem was reported to 3 well before the 12 month warranty ran out so any more reported problems that are connected will be covered in the event of a claim being made. They won't send a replacement phone whilst my own phone is away for analysis. I cannot do without the phone and the contents.
I have made my mind up to leave 3 at the end of the contract and I do not want another Sony Ericsson phone - I want to go back to Nokia, I never had any trouble with them. At the moment, I just feel as though I am limping with this W595 to the end of a painful 18 months. Has, or is anyone else experiencing similar problems with their W595? PC Suite Problem. My main problem with PC Suite when used in conjunction with my Sony Ericsson W595 phone is that there is no facility to produce a hard copy or print of the contacts list. I will need to do this when I change phones at the end of my contract to make it easier to input them into the new phone, (which hopefully will be a Nokia!). The only method that I have found is to do a "Print Screen" or a Screen Capture. Of course this has to be done several times to be able to cover nearly 300 contacts and all their input details.
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.

When i open the message folder there is only "no conversations" written, dispite the fact i have new messages in the inbox folder. My question is how can i restore/enable the consversation view, so the incoming messages are able to be seen in conversation view?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently, my Vivaz got a little flurry of SMS messages and once i'd opened them all the small grey envelope in the top left remained. I turned my vivaz off and on again (as any true techno wizard does) and the envelope vanished. However it has no gone COMPLETELY. When I get a text, my phone doesn't vibrate, make a noise (and no it's not on silent etc) I don't get a message which says "1 new message" and no envelope appears. After a while the lights come on and the screen goes dark grey, as if it's about to do something, but can't quite make it. The only way I can see if I have a message is to have my inbox open all the time, and when I tap my phone the message "appears" in my inbox. I also get the red wavy lines appear in the messaging window. Any ideas how I can make my little envelope come back? Or make the phone make a noise again? I've checked all the sound and messaging settings, and have downloaded and updates the software.

What's important to me is that I can use the WLAN at university and I can't find any information about that on the Internet. Can anybody tell me about SE solutions? Another aspect that matters to me is the camera, it does not need to replace a normal camera, but the photos should be of a certain quality. I'm quite satisfied with my k800i on this point, but the resolution could be a bit higher.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues...
1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it.
2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.
I would like the name and phone displayed on screen when a call is coming in. Any ideas. Can't find a thing in the manual.
