Jul 13, 2015I have a wireless router downstairs and an access point upstairs (both withe the same SSID).The problem is that my phone does not pick up the strongest signal.Each time i have to disconnect the Wifi on my phone, after connecting the Wifi again it picks up the strongest signal.

IPhone 5 Won't Pick Up WiFi Signal
Jun 1, 2014My iPhone 5 has never had a problem with picking up a Wifi signal. I just moved to a new apartment a few weeks ago and my iPhone won't recognize any Wifi signal at all. My Xbox One recognizes multiple signals and connects with ease, same with my Macbook Pro. And my iPhone has no problem picking up Wifi networks at other locations (Work, Starbucks, etc.).Â

Apr 8, 2015My S5 won't find my home wifi. It doesn't even come up as an option to select in the wifi networks. Other networks can be found, like my grandparents wifi and my neighbours however I can't find my own. Even when I manually add the network using our SSID and network password it just says that the connection is "not in range".

Stock roms and custom roms.Since doing so, I have a really awful signal and quite often no signal at all.Could I have done something to cause this or is it probably just a coincidence?I am with 3 uk.I can't go out seeing if it improves in other areas as I am currently ill. Feb 12, 2012I get a poor signal indoors at home - on Orange and it's always been the case. I spoke to their customer services and was told to switch the phone from auto select for Network Mode to GSM only. My choices are GSM only, WCDMA only or Auto.
True, having done so, the signal strength seems better though not amazing but, ordinarily, I get then just a "G" for data. I found that switching to WCDMA only, data goes to 3G or even H and sometime H+ but I nearly always lose the standard signal.
I dont understand the difference between GSM and WCDMA nor whether the results I see when choosing each are to be expected or not. I'd welcome any information from those of you who know more about these things than I do.

Feb 1, 2012i went to replace the cracked screen on an s2, got all the backing of, and started to get the front screen of, and ended up splitting the LCD.so got a front screen with LCD, digitizer, ear peace, use little wise which Im guessing is something to do with the signal. put it all together, and turned phone on, and had no signal at all.

I can hear them fine however. So I tried recording me talking with the voice recorder and can't hear anything either. Aug 17, 2012I know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but...I recently took over ownership of a Galaxy 2 from someone else in the family and only use internet through wifi as I dont have data included in my tariff.However, I just saw on latest bill, I have a load of charges for data usage!I have done various searches and there seems to be lots of solutions but no DEFINITIVE one that i have read?The most obvious one I have read is to switch the data mode off from the power button. Another is to deactivate packet data in the network menu (I would have thought the first action would do the same?). I have done both but the charges still continue. I assume then that some apps are running in the background and accessing at random times?
So is what I am describing a normal 'feature' of the phone? Why is the phone allowing apps to override a very high level user setting???If this is the case, my searching has now left me baffled. I have read about downloading apps to switch the 3G connection off? Also I read I could set the phone to run on 2G?Does setting the phone on 2G affect any other functionality? I would like to use the phone for everything else eg wifi gps etc. I just dont want any non wifi internet data usage at all permanently!Lastly, I believe with the network internet connection, I cannot send or receive mms at all? I guess I will have to accept that.
