In order to save energy, I told my S2 not to sync mails automatically. That works fine, I can just hit the "update" button. But is there a similar way to sync the calendar (or contacts)?
Maybe I looked the wrong places but it occurs to me I can either have sync on or not--and if I want to sync manually, I have to got to Settings->Accounts & Sync->Choose Account->Sync--that's a bit cumbersome.
I am unable to sync my SGII with MS outlook calendar on my PC. I was able to do it once, months ago, but now it won't move past 39%. I upgraded to Outlook 2010 and installed the latest Kies upgrade and firmware in the phone, but still hangs at 39%. My phone calendar becomes useless if I can't sync.
I often use the Samsung calendar on my S5. But, for some reason when I open the Samsung calendar on my Note 10.1 tablet to view the entries I did thru my S5, nothing appears!!! I try hitting the sync button every time I enter something on my S5 calendar, assuming my tablet calendar will get updated too, but nope! I have no problems with the goggle calendar, but with the Samsung calendar I do. How can I view on my tablet Samsung calendar what I enter on my S5 calendar?
syncing of outlook 2003 with the SGS2.I am using Outlook 2003 and am about to get a SGS2 and need to sync the contacts and calendar is there a way of doing this directly from PC to phone without Google or servers and stuff?
I have just clicked calendar sync - hoping to sync all my calendar events with google calendar. However it has deleted all my events both past and future.
My quite new (3 weeks) S6 did a factory data reset on its own. It happened while I was driving for 2hrs on a highway, with the phone resting on the empty passenger seat, not touching the phone. Lost all data, all apps, all pics. Very frustrating. After 3 days of research (visiting Verizon store, calling Verizon, calling Samsung, internet research), the possible cause may the following:
About 2-3 hours before driving, the phone did a scheduled automatic update, which took more than 30 min to complete. This all happened in a signal-weak area. Tech support said, although the update completed, it may have had some flaws, and when the phone detects that, it may resort to a factory data reset to avoid greater functionality problems.
Unfortunately, the end result included functionality problems, most notably that the phone calendar only synched partially (!!) with my desktop Outlook calendar, and promptly I missed two important appointments.
When a scheduled update comes your way, make sure you backup all contacts, photos, data etc, before allowing an update to perform.
How to set the settings. On my S4, all I had to do was touch the little circular "Sync" icon. I have no such icon on my S6, so must wait for the next scheduled sync, I set it to 15 minutes. It does have a setting to set it to "Manual Sync" only, but I can't find a button or icon to do a manual sync.
Samsung SGH-t749 using New PC Studio ver. 1.2.0 IEC. When I try to sync Outlook Calendar with the phone calendar it runs out of memory. I don't know if it is using the internal mem., but I don't see a way to direct it to use the SD card. It also mentions that it is getting email info from Outlook. Does this mean that it is also syncing the address book? I only want to keep the calendar on the phone synced. Anyone have any input?
remember the old days when you could get a dumbphone (non Blackberry, Android, IPhone) and a USB or serial phone data cable and some software that would sync your dumbphones calendar to your Outlook or Exchange calendar application through the cable or bluetooth?Everything now that does that seems to be only smartphones and then you need a data plan and internet access.
I just have a standard USC phone, but I'd like to populate my phone's calendar with Outlook appointments and meetings. It seems the carriers intentionally cripple the phones just enough to make data transfer through the manufacturers USB cable not work with any applications out there.
I could do in 1998 with a candy bar Kyocera phone and the Verizon "Mobile Office Kit" on Windows 98, but can't do now.bitpim does not do this, Datapilot does not show this phone as supported, and the people at US Cellular can't understand why anyone would want to do this without a smartphone.
just bought this samsung galaxy s2 and i am lost already. i have a samsung genio mobile that i wish to transfer all my calendar events over to the new s2 mobile 203 of them. dont want to start typing them into the new phone one by one lol. my old genio was backed up using the pc studio software but iam told this will not work with the s2. i joined a google account tonight to see if i can transfer the calendars from genio to google then to s2 but couldnt work it out. i am a complete novice when it comes to any thing like this . also if you can take me through the stages of transfering all my events to my new phone
I recently upgraded from a Note 3 to an S6 on Verizon. On my Note I had my Exchange calendar sync'd to my phone so I could see when meetings and such were. But on my S6 so far there isn't even an option listed in my calendar to display my Exchange calendar and it's quite frustrating. I've checked in Settings and Accounts and it shows the calendar should be syncing but nothing is populating in my calendar.
Using whatever crap came with this new S6 Edge, I can't get my calendar to sync with my work calendar no matter what I try. (It's a Microsoft Exchange thing.) I have talked to Verizon tech support,as well as the IT people here are work and my settings are right. So....now I'm thinking about trying to install the Nine Exchange app, even though it galls me to have to pay for a calendar that will sync.
My question is, should I uninstall both the email and calendar that are on my phone now, and then set them all up again after Nine Exchange is installed? I guess I'm not clear on what the app is actually doing.
I am having troubles getting my Outlook calendar to show on my S6.Emails have synced perfectly well and the account is set up correctly in the same manner as my S4 and Tab 3, however my calendar isn't even available for selection on the page where you choose which items to SyncI have removed the Exchange account several times and set it up again to no avail.
Android platform after using palm, windows mobile, blackberry. In all of those platforms I was able to view my calendar while I was on a phone call. Android will only give me the option to view my contacts or write a memo while on a call. Is there a way to switch between screens and applications while on a call in SGSII?
I searched and couldn't find this topic so:When I set a new event in the S2 Calendar when I go to add a participant -if the contact doesn't have an email it doesn't show up - which means most
I tried to remove calendar widget but I accidentally reomved calendar from my galaxy s2 using titanium backup, now I am without a calendar, any idea where can I download it?
My S3 had a menu button to the left of the Home key, and one of the choices offered was to sync the calendar. (I have it linked to an Exchange server). In the S6 there is no menu button next to the Home key, and while the calendar has a menu icon, there is no option to sync manually.
The only way to sync is through Options/Accounts/..., i.e. one has to leave the calendar, sync and come back.
What am I missing? How can they just drop this essential option? Even with a sync schedule one often wants to make sure everything is fully up-to-date when using the calendar.
Related question: is the Calendar program from Samsung or is it standard Android? I know Google offers a Calendar app on Play.
I just upgraded to a galaxy S6 but can't seem to get my work calendar to sync to S Planner. My work email is syncing fine to the email app but no calendar appointments are syncing apart from my Google account events.
