View 24 RepliesAfter days of searching I have been successf in syncing contacts, calendar, and tasks on my Samsung Android phone (Galaxy S5) with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 Desktop using the following tools and procedure:
Install Samsung's Android "SmartSwitch" app on the phone
Install Samsung's Windows "SmartSwitch" application on the desktop
Configure the Windows "SmartSwitch" application to sync the desired outlook data. After the phone and desktop applications are installed and configured, connect the phone to the desktop using an appropriate USB cable. Windows plug and play may or may not correctly recognize the phone, but the SmartSwitch application should connect to the phone's client app and initiate the data transfer.
On the phone, email, contacts, and calendar applications will readily display and update the Outlook data from your desktop. Unfortunately, accessibility of Outlook's "To Do" task list is somewhat obscure due to Samsung's non-intuitive UI and menu organization. To access Outlook's "To Do" task list, using the phone's Calendar app:
Tap the timeframe (Day, Week, Month, Year) text in the upper left screen header. In the resulting drop-down, tap "Agenda" and the screen will display an agenda of dated Calendar events and "Agenda" in the upper left screen header.Tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right screen header
In the resulting drop-down, tap "Filter by" and select "Tasks" in the resulting pop-up and the screen will now display undated tasks in the main window. Although I did not see this documented anywhere, apparently the programmers define Events as "date-associated" list items, and "Tasks" and undated list items. To return the screen display back to Events (dated list items), tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right screen header and select either "Events" or "All" in the resulting pop-up.
To return the screen display back to Calendar mode, Tap the word "Agenda" in the upper left screen header and select the desired calendar timeframe (Day, Week, Month, Year) from the resulting drop-down.
I noticed that after going through this process once, when the main display is in "Agenda" mode I have an "Undated" section at the top of the display. When "Undated" is tapped, the section expands to display all of your undated Outlook tasks.how to maintain the Outlook's hierarchy of folder names (the grouping of each task) in the imported data.
I am looking to sync my S5 with my outlook 2010 calendar and contacts. Don't care about the email (frankly I don't want to be able to reached at all times for work requests). I think the software that I want to use is Kies. I have a few concerns that I want to clear up before using.
1 - I do not want my phone to overwrite what is on the computer. That would be a disaster. How do I prevent this from happening?
2 - I have many different calendars on my outlook and only want to sync one of them. How can I do this?
3 - What else should I watch out for before syncing. I want to avoid any hiccups if at all possible. Losing the work calendar would result in some mass chaos for a few weeks.
I'm so glad that I can now sync my Blackberry 8900 with my pc, but calendar entries that I've added to my device are not showing on my pc calendar!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having Outlook 2010 and Galaxy S6 sync problems (which doesn't seem rare.) I've tried two apps:
Android-Sync - can't get it installed. (Sent error log to their tech support.).
AkrutoSync - doesn't update changes in Outlook. When I hit "sync now" the edited contacts say "synched" at current time, but nothing changes. ALSO: All calendar events are doubled.
Recently I have been unable to sync my Blackberry calendar with my Outlook 2010 calendar. I am getting a message "calendar not installed" when I synch my organizer files. My other organizer files synch okay. I am able to make calendar entries on my device and on Outlook but unable to synch calendars. I tried everything I could think of.

the only options are showing only the following:
- Calendar Display
- Conference calling

*email account1

the email account is already defined as the default account for calendar (CICAL)!! My colleauge have 9790 using the same server, and the same setting, and the calendar is sync properly through wireless. I tried sync throug bb Desktop Manager, it worked. I dont have BES, so I set up my Microsoft Exchange email as internet based account. the emails are being sync properly between handheld and the server.
Samsung SGH-t749 using New PC Studio ver. 1.2.0 IEC. When I try to sync Outlook Calendar with the phone calendar it runs out of memory. I don't know if it is using the internal mem., but I don't see a way to direct it to use the SD card. It also mentions that it is getting email info from Outlook. Does this mean that it is also syncing the address book? I only want to keep the calendar on the phone synced. Anyone have any input?

View 2 Replies View Relatedremember the old days when you could get a dumbphone (non Blackberry, Android, IPhone) and a USB or serial phone data cable and some software that would sync your dumbphones calendar to your Outlook or Exchange calendar application through the cable or bluetooth?Everything now that does that seems to be only smartphones and then you need a data plan and internet access.
I just have a standard USC phone, but I'd like to populate my phone's calendar with Outlook appointments and meetings. It seems the carriers intentionally cripple the phones just enough to make data transfer through the manufacturers USB cable not work with any applications out there.
I could do in 1998 with a candy bar Kyocera phone and the Verizon "Mobile Office Kit" on Windows 98, but can't do now.bitpim does not do this, Datapilot does not show this phone as supported, and the people at US Cellular can't understand why anyone would want to do this without a smartphone.

View 10 Replies View RelatedKies 3 always crashes with an "Unknown Error" when trying to sync my Outlook 2007 calendar. Contacts and Tasks sync okay.
I've literally spent hours on the phone with Samsung (lack of) technical support with no resolution. They are in fact blaming Outlook claiming that this "Unknown Error" is an Outlook error and not a Kies 3 error (I doubt that). Their other suggestion is a factory reset on the phone which I don't want to do or to try another PC.
Using Windows 7 Pro, latest updates to Kies 3 and latest firmware updated today on the phone.
I downloaded Outlook mobile. It synced email immediately, although it won't let me create a trash folder. It still won't sync my calendar though.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy quite new (3 weeks) S6 did a factory data reset on its own. It happened while I was driving for 2hrs on a highway, with the phone resting on the empty passenger seat, not touching the phone. Lost all data, all apps, all pics. Very frustrating. After 3 days of research (visiting Verizon store, calling Verizon, calling Samsung, internet research), the possible cause may the following:
About 2-3 hours before driving, the phone did a scheduled automatic update, which took more than 30 min to complete. This all happened in a signal-weak area. Tech support said, although the update completed, it may have had some flaws, and when the phone detects that, it may resort to a factory data reset to avoid greater functionality problems.
Unfortunately, the end result included functionality problems, most notably that the phone calendar only synched partially (!!) with my desktop Outlook calendar, and promptly I missed two important appointments.
When a scheduled update comes your way, make sure you backup all contacts, photos, data etc, before allowing an update to perform.
BB Desktop Manager says Outlook 2010 is not installed, although it is installed. Everything else (contacts, notes, tasks) is syncing, but not the calendar. Sync always worked until a month ago. Tried to fix problem by repairing Office 2010, reinstalling BB Desktop Manager. Still does not work. Why can't I sync my Outlook Calendar with my BB?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a Note 3 to an S6 on Verizon. On my Note I had my Exchange calendar sync'd to my phone so I could see when meetings and such were. But on my S6 so far there isn't even an option listed in my calendar to display my Exchange calendar and it's quite frustrating. I've checked in Settings and Accounts and it shows the calendar should be syncing but nothing is populating in my calendar.

I recently bought a Blackberry Style, and am connecting to a WIndows7 PC with Outlook 2010. I set the Blackberry desktop software to sync to Outlook, and it worked the first few times. However, now every time I open the desktop software or try to manually sync, it reads the calendar entries but then I get the following error message: "One or more configured folders is not available. Update folder mapping and try again."

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe recently did a number of hardware upgrades on our computer and installed Windows 7 and Office 2010 about 3 weeks ago (full versions not upgrades). I have been unable to sync my BB ever since and after reading through the message boards have discovered I am not alone. I downloaded the latest BB update which I understood would make my BB and Office compatible.I don't know if the problems are related to BB and Office not being compatible or if there is another problem with my computer. This is what I have done and am encountering: downloaded BB update version 6.0.0.43; BB would not recognize Outlook when I tried to organize my Contacts and Address Book. I have tried repairing and subsequently uninstalling then reinstalling this update a few times.
- gave up and downloaded CompanionLink; Received error message "Click-to-run Outlook lacks API capability. You must install Outlook on your PC for sync". I sought help from CompanionLink but continue to have no luck. The "Add-Ins" link in my BB Desktop Software was available when I first downloaded CompanionLink but has now disappeared and I don't know how to get it back. I did try repairing the BB update to see if this would resolve it.- in the BB Desktop Software Applications tab, it states BB 5.0.0 System Software version 5.0.0 and Core Application Version 5.0.0. are required but it does not give me the capability to install it. I thought the version 6.0.0.43 update replaced version 5.0.0. I don't know if this is relevant or if it matters.
