I have my BB set to automatically delete messages after 15 days. Does this mean it will only delete the message off the BB device, or both the device and the server? I assume it means just the device but wanted to confirm.

I've tried turning the phone off and on, but to no avail. The "Edit" box in the upper right corner is unavailable.

when in text message conversatin with someone, the automatic ballon from them does not show up. I get the recieve sound and the (1) in the message icon at the top. I have to click out by selecting"messages(1)" icon then click back in to view the message.

I tried to delete a gmail account from my g3. The process sent me to the web & it seemed to work, but seemed not to be completed on the phone, as the account is still there in accounts but highlighted in red with a "!" beside it.

I used to have an option to delete e-mail on the handset or both handset and mailbox. Now, for some reason, it only gives me delete as an option. I like being able to delete on BB only for some things and on both for junk. I know it will come to me but you guys are faster.

"Handheld and mailbox, device only" but on the other it doesn't prompt me and it just deletes from the handheld itself. The settings are consistent between the two; both are set to not prompt and delete from the handheld only. But one "rogue mailbox" chooses not to follow this policy and continues to prompt me anyways. Anyone have a solution or a fix?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my own domain and I get POP3 emails the domain-provided-email-address forwarded to my POP3-ISP-provided-email address. These arrive on my N5.
I have the N5's incoming server settings set to "...delete emails from server when I delete emails from the device...". Despite this, emails get downloaded to my N5 again and again even after I have deleted them from both the N5's email inbox (accessed via the "yellow @ card going into a white envelope" icon) and also after I deleted them from theN5's Recycle bin.
I understand that POP3 emails are prone to "re-arrive" like this, but if I can just reduce the frequency that this happens, that would be good.
How do I make it so my phone doesn't automatically delete my call history.

Because my phone only recieves emails (does not synchronize deletions), I would like to delete groups of emails on occasion.I see the check marks next to the messages. I can select them individually, but I was looking for something along the lines of Shift-Click to select a range of messages.

Have set-up and works fine - i.e. I can download and read email on my phone.problem is that when I say delete from phone and server it tells me that it is waiting for deletion and never seems to diappear as an entry on my phone. View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently setup my email accounts on my Iphone 3GS to use the IMAP protocol.I have 3 email accounts (different domains) all hosted with Ehosting.The problem I'm having is the same for deleted or moved emails, and only happens on the Iphone.Whenever I delete or move an email, it is removed from my inbox, and appears in the trash or deleted items folder, or the destination move folder on my Iphone.However when the Iphone next checks for email, the messages all reappear in the inbox (as read)If I delete or move them again, I end up with multiple copies in the deleted or moved folder destination on the iphne, for however many times I delete or move the mail.The deleted and moved folders on my Iphone, only organise themselves correctly once I check my mail on my mac, or windows laptop, and that deals with the changes made.The problem then starts all over again once the next series of emails are received on the Iphone.Very frustrating when your out and about and you continually receive mail prevously read, deleted or filed in your inbox (albeit read), and not able to access the mail from a mac or laptop.
On my mac (and a laptop) the mail accounts work perfectly with the imap protocol, behaving as I would expect deleted are moved the to the trash or deleted items folder, until such time as I permanently delete them.Messages moved to a different folder phsically move to that folder.Ehosting are suggesting it should work fine, and the problems lies with the Iphone, although I'm not convinced.As a test I also have a SKY.com email address which I never use, but last night I set this up on the Iphone.This is in affect a gmail account, badged up by sky.This account worked and behaved as I would expect on the Iphone (contrary to the problems others experience with gmail accounts), with deleted or moved messages, being placed in the correct folder on the Iphne, and not re-appearing in the Iphnes inbox on the next check for mail.Hopefully I've explained the problem with enough details for someone to offer a fix or resolution, and before anyone suggests it, I dont want to revert to POP emails.
I'm having a bit of a problem with my email. I've set up a personal account to use IMAP. On my old phone, deleting items from my in box removed them from the server, but that's not happening now (using the default Mail APP). I noticed it was sending them to the trash and so I went into the trash folder, selected all the email and then tapped the "Delete" button. Nope. There were nowhere to be found on the phone, but they were still on the server (as I found out when I got home and connected via my desktop client.)I read a suggestion on a non-Photon specific forum that suggested to make sure the trash folder was set up to be a push synch, so I tried that.ere are my settings for the account:Data Push (not checked, but I've also tried checking this)Fetch schedule: every 15 minutesFolder sync: Trash - background; Inbox - background; deleted (which is an empty folder) - background
