my N97 is fairly slow when connecting to the web vs. the iphone or even someone else using a generic phone on t-mobile. I'm not sure it's my phone, or N97 in general. also, someone told me that AT&T when discovered that someone is using an unlock phone on their network, they will make an attempt to slow the access speed on that unlock phone.

phone is 12 months old and have just reset network settings but still same issues.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy E71 is trying to re-connect to a wireless network I had previously used. It keeps doing this every 1minute and trys to send packet data for 7 seconds, then just stops. Nothing appears on the screen or any notification, but when checking the logs, you can see it gets spammed with an attempt to connect to a specific wirless network.This has drastically reduced the battery performance, I have tried disabling WLAN, This has done nothing, it still attempts to send/recieve, but never actually gets anything accomplished? What should I do?

Setting -> Phone -> Network to manual search. And here the parameter in my cellphone: Network mode : GSM Operator selection : Automatic.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have installed the latest firmware on my E52 (v031.012) and the latest Ovi maps v3.03. Since, I haven't managed to find my position by using either A-GPS or by the cell that I was in.With the Ovi maps that I had before, the phone was able to position me on the map, based on the gsm/3g cell that I was in in a matter of seconds. Also, it was able to get a GPS fix in a few tens of seconds, probably based on A-GPS.Now the GPS positioning is very slow and working only in open air. Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI logged on to the work wifi with my 5800 some time ago.Ever since I've had the phone I've struggled to get the Nokia browser to automatically connect to the Orange Internet (3G) access point.Instead it always prompts"Select Connection" and I have the options "Search for WLAN", "Internet" or "Uncategorised".Internet always used to be "Orange Internet" but now the default is "Internet - <my work> wifi".
This would be fine if I only used the phone for internet at work, but obviously I do not.Can anyone tell me how to put it back to having "Orange Internet" as the default, and ideally connecting automatically without the prompt.I've found under settings>general>accesspoint you can set it to either "Always ask" "Internet" or Uncategorised" but as "Internet" is currently set as my work wifi, this isn't an option.

It again get reconnected automatically. Even if I remove all the known connection, it keeps popping up the select WLAN network page. View 4 Replies View Relatedi am using Nokia N97 Mini mobile. whn i try to connect my Wifi connection at University. it says unable to connect.when i try to add a new access point from Settings>Connectivity>Destinations>New Access Point.it checks for new connection and found the Wifi Router... but whn i select to add it in my list. i get Error message... " Unable to edit protected Network".though the Wifi router is set to Open Network and its public.... still i cannot access it... whereas everyone else is enjoying the connection....

from Belgium, traveling in the States - using the 5800 XpressMusic. I'm unable to get a right network (to make phonecalls and text). Doesn't matter if I use the Dual Mode, UMTS or GSM. When I manually search, it gives me 2 options; AT&T and T-Mobile. When I request either one of them it tells me that I don't have access. What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting I'm missing?Settings > Connectivity > Network > Network unavailable. I'd like to see it changed. GPS and wifi are working fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago, I was travelling to another country and inserted a different SIM and installed it's settings, but when I came back and installed the orignal SIM, I lost some of the selection options Network Destination for Exchange and OVI Maps only...Previously I could see different options under Network Destinations such as 'Data Package' and access points which I had connected to previously. Now I only see 'Internet' and this has only affected the two applications mentioned above. I also have Hotmail & Gmail which give me the other options so I find it strange why has this happened to Exchange and OVI Maps only (even after updating the maps application).
This is preventing me from using my service provider's Data Package connection for these apps. I've contacted the provider and installed the default configuration settings recieved via SMS but that didn't help
I bought my mom a E63. When I se it up, everything worked perfectly. It would find my router at home and conect to it, it would find wireless hotspots everywhere and connect to them etc... Now, all of the sudden, it will not find anything anymore. Even if I am standing in front of my router, it will say "No WLAN network found".
I just updated her phone to the newest firmware and reset everything to factory defaults, and the phone still refuses to find any WLAN's. I went into the menu and made sure that it does show WLAN availability etc...
I just want to ask why i cant connect on a some wifi open network and reply me an error prompt (Web: No gateway reply)?
