BB Curve :: How To Change Band-mode / Frequency
Jan 11, 2011If I go into the "Mobile Network Engineering Screens" menu and then into "Cell Information..." the bandmode is set to "GSM850" which is causing me to get SOS. How do I change the bandmode to GSM900? I've tried clicking on GSM800 and selecting "All" but when I back to the menu and then back into Cell Information it changes back to GSM850.

Nokia Nseries :: 5530 Constantly Asking To Select Accessory?
Jul 6, 2012Have had this phone for a couple of years - i haven't done anything recently that i think may cause this problem.Today a message comes up every few seconds asking me to select an accessory (headset/headphones/lineout/music stand) - it thinks i have something plugged into the audio socket. I do not! I have not used the audio jack for at least a year!I have rebooted it & taken the battery out. I've also reset to factory settings & reinstalled the software, but still i have this problem.In this state, the phone is not usable since this message constantly gets in the way.Earlier on today the problem was different, a symbol came up at top right meant a headset was connected (when the truth is it wasn't). This meant i couldn't use the phone to call people as we couldn't hear each other. After this, i changed some bits in the accessory settings & now i have the problem i described at the start of this message.

Nov 2, 2010I am getting a "Select connection" prompt quite frequently (atleast once a minute) on my 5800. This has started happening in the last week or so. Yes - I have searched the forums and googled. I have not altered my network drive settings (solution in one thread) and the internet connection test is set to "Never run" in the Wireless LAN settings.
I do sync my GMail account - and I do not want to disable automatic sync. Everything was working fine until last week. I think once we set a destination (Internet) for the email sync then it should not keep prompting again and again to select connection.

Jul 27, 2010According to a thread over at XDA-Developers, the Samsung Vibrant for T-Mobile supports 1900mhz UMTS/3g. This would be the first phone sold by T-Mobile that supports ATT 3g as well as on its own AWS band.
I didn't believe it when it was first posted, but it seems to hold up to scrutiny, as the user posted a screenshot of a speed test result which includes an ATT (Cingular) IP address for the device, as well as 3g speeds and ATT's trademark high 3g latency.

So, now the question is: If the Vibrant and Captivate are practically identical hard-ware wise, is it possible that the Captivate is using the same radio, and itself supports T-Mobile 3g on the AWS(1700) band?
