I have a N8 that was recently updated to Symbian Belle. Prior to that I had no problems but these days the phone has to be rebooted in order to make a call. I was wondering if a full factory reset was needed because this has happened numerous times this past week and today. I'm always having to reboot the phone to make a phone call or do anything else with the service. I use T Mobile so they don't have any outages I really believe this phone has problems.
I've been experiencing this strange problem for few weeks with my N8. When I'm receiving or making a call, network signal level drops from full to 2 bars. Happens only when i hold my phone from its lower end(where menu button is located). As long as i hold phone from its upper end(where audio jack is located), signal level is maintained to full bars. Such fluctuations don't occur when phone is lying still somewhERE. Signal starts dropping only when phone is held by its lower end. Happens while accessing 3G too. Is this a normal thing? I checked after changing SIM and switching to another network provider. Still the same.
There was me thinking only the Iphone 4 had this issue! It drops from say 4 bars to about 1. Holding the top end seems OK. It is holding the phone "normally" or holding the bottom end which almost kills the signal.
I've observed my N97 mini's battery level dropping abruptly from 4 bars to 1 bar (with low battery alarm). The phone's slightly more than a month old and using the latest 11.x.x firmware. Did a bit of googling, and found several suggestions on how to save battery (turn off everything 'smart' on ur phone). That's not the point anyways. I need to find out why the battery level drops suddenly (like what happens when ur battery's dying out), and *not* why the battery lasts X hrs.
I'm not sure about this, but I think this mostly happens when the battery level is slightly below max, and I use any app that needs the GPS functionality. But then, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the GPS hardware in the phone, 'coz it usually gets a GPS lock in less than a minute (mostly within seconds). Could it be related to the algo used to show the battery level, or is it that its my battery that's faulty?
I got a Bokia E72 after being fascinated with E71.What shocked me was the big number of disconnections or call drops faced in the middle of calls although the signal is at its best.I am thinking of updating it to the latest firmware hoping that it'd solve the problem.Do you have any further suggestions?
i just got an Nokia N8 from a friend of mine, and i wanted to fully update it, but whenever i try to update it to Belle it gives an error saying "Nokia update suite service is unavailable", sometimes it reaches 119/124 mb, or 95/100 mb or 21/26 mb and then i get the error.and sometimes it reaches 124/124, 100/100, 26/26 mb but it then says "5000 minutes left to finish download" it stays at that point for about a minute and then i get the above mentioned error.if it matters the phone is from another country than my own.i searched all over the nokia discussions forum and i saw there were numerous similar posts, i did everything it was suggested there but it still hasnt worked.
I am unable to use Nokia Messaging service push email service on my Nokia after Belle Refresh install. I did a clean install and when ever I try to add email accounts its automatically taking IMAP or POP3 setup and not prompting me to use Nokia Messaging Service to send/receive email.IMAP / POP3 is fast but uses lots of data compared to Nokia Messaging Service (which is free from my provider and will not count towards data usage). I started noticing this problem since yesterday afternoon.
Would it be possible to add a "send" button at the bottom middle for service command view?Service command is the menu you get when you phone a *123# number for example.Currently you have to select your number/option by typing it and then select "Options" and select send. There are just two buttons currently in that view (Back and Options) on the Symbian Belle interface. My old Nokia had a dedicated send button Anyway, would really make things easier because these type op menu's are used by the mobile banking sites and to check my cellphone account balances.
After updating anna's service pack I noticed that my battery wont last as long as before the update. I checked for any open programs but everything is closed. I did not install anything new since the update btw.
What would cause my wifi calling to drop frequently on my new LGG4? It will post a notification that wifi calling cannot connect so I go to the setting bar, disable wifi calling and turn it back on. It will come back on and work fine for a day or so and then it randomly disconnects again. It will transition from home to work with no problems also, just randomly disconnects at either location every now and then??
HTC sensation drops its cell phone signal suddenly, restarting with battery removed helps for few minutes only. Believe its the antenna connected to the panel. However,it works the same (drops after few minutes) when the cover is NOT ON, whereas I thought the cover including the back has the antenna and replacing cover helped few.
Ever since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
I cant scan phone memory of nokia 5233 using antivirus.when my phone is in mass storage mode via USB, it only shows Memory Card under my computer, It never shows phone memory. We also know that if we keep phone in ovi suite mode, it dont shows option to scan phone memory.
I have this peculiar problem for the past two months alone...every time i restart my phone - N82 the battery indicator drops by a point...sometimes two...also the indicator is not stable...it shows 4 points remaining but as soon as i turn on gprs it shows battery low!! can some one help...i've been breaking my head for the past 2 months with energy profiler...tried to find out a reason but nothing was making any point...also say after 2 or 3 days of continuous usage there are spikes in the energy consumption corresponding to spikes in cpu usage...but when i restart things are normal.
I have a Nokia N8, and i have a problem with the phone memory i only have 17,4mb free how/what can i delete to get more space? I dont have any programs installed on the phone memory
My N8 only has 27mb left on the physical phone memory. I tried to clear some space through x-plorer but was only able to clear like 10 megs out of 250. i cleared messages, i tried tons of things, any recommendations? I don't install any apps to the phone and i try to keep my active apps to a low.
i have n8 belle, and have problem of low phone memory. I searched answers to this problem on the forum, all were related to deleting old messages etc. If i go to memory details via file manager, contacts and messages together only occupy 10mb. Most is taken up by 'other files'.I opened my phone memory via x-plore app, and i found a folder called Private. It has around 88mb memory. And it looks useless, it has files with names of apps that i have uninstalled ages ago. Can i delete the folder Private? How will it affect my phone if i delete it.?
I have a problem in installing an application named foursquare in my nokia C5 03, when i try to install it, its says 'qt' and 'qt mobility' is missing in my phone.
Took my n8 to the local Nokia care center for repair under warranty, received phone back said they flashed phone software and whilst in the shop the phone switched itself off. This was the problem it was sent in for repair. Now they say its the battery that needs to be replaced. phone will not switch on again.
Recently, i had removed all games and few applications , to make phone memory atlest 18 mb free. Then later i installed new applications on my Micro-sd card. everything is working fine. Then all of sudden after few days, My phone memory drops to 12Mb free. Why sudden consumption of phone memory and i tried removing internet cache and history saved. still my phone memory is at 12mb free. No new application is installed on phone memory. What could be the reason for this sudden and constant consumption of phone memory of almost 6mb
I have an e71-3 on the '3' network.I can connect my phone to my laptop and use it as a modem, using the USB cable... but it ALWAYS drops out. It hasn't made it to 1 hour of connection time yet -> and dropped out about 30 times before one hour.Average seems to be at around 25 minutes, but, last night was 47 minutes, and this morning i checked at 15minutes 30secs and it had already dropped out.Is this something that updating firmware can fix? Or am I just left with a stuffed phone that I can't use as a modem? Is it worth trying a different program to connect to the internet? (I doubt it?).
I am using different Bluetooth headsets.Everyone of those disconnects after the first or the second call. I'm using the stereo BH-103 and also the BH-602, plus the BlueAnt Z9i.I make a call, sometimes two and after 5 to 10 minutes I noticed there is no sound, the headset has dropped or just totaly closed. Is there anything I can do. Of course I have a N900, which perfectly besides this much anoying issue.
I am facing a strange issue where my newly bought N97 mini is dropping WLAN connectivity after every minute. I have to go and connect it otherwise my GPRS connectivity is used to go to internet. I have nokia E66 which is working fine. Please help me if I have to do some setting change. Also, I want my WLAN should take priority over GPRS when I am connecting to internet. I was able to set the access point in E66 but some facing some issue with N97.
I have a 920 that has given me fits since I got it a week ago. I have had this happen at several hotel, work and home locations. What happens is that at some point during the day, I want to connect to the Wi-Fi whereever I am at. So I turn on the screen, go into Settings/Wi-Fi and I am not able to connect to anything. The Wi-Fi option is turned ON but the toggle for it is grayed out and you cannot change it (to ON or OFF). Also, there is a progress bar scrolling across as it indicates "Searching". It will stay that way for HOURS if you wait that long.I also noticed that if I go to Bluetooth settings at this point, I cannot turn that On or Off either (although the toggle is not grayed out). The rest of the phone and app functions work normal at this point. The only way to get WiFi or BT working is to reboot the phone, then everything will work for a while and at some point in time, this will happen all over again.
I recently updated with new ANNA software to my N8, but now my phone to crash/ restart itself at least 15 times at day! is that a way I can uninstall or do something about it?
