I have a Nokia N95 and when i go to my contacts none of the contacts appear and there is no "options" just "exit". The numbers are still in my simcard or phone as when people call me their name still appears. I just cannot see anyones number.i also tried backing up the files to my computer but d backup came up with read error!i badly need those contacts!

Now all the contacs on phone memory are vanished!! while I still have the contacts which were on my SIM card. ( I have checked memory in use and switched it between Phone and SIM , but it does not work) Is there a way for me ? (for sure in order to recover the contacs on phone memory and not to vanish the rest on SIM!
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then my Nokia N8 contact list freezes when I try to select a contact fom the list, when starting a call or by accessing the contact list directly. A reboot, factory reset nor firmware reinstalling doesn't solve the problem, it only works temporarily. When the list freezes I am able to swipe through it up and down, though selecting contacts is not possible. I do see a cursor blinking in the lower half of the screen, at the position where the search window normally is. The search window itself is vanished.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a new problem to update with FP2. Suddenly last evening I noticed that all my contacts are showing as unnamed, although their details are intact. Just the names are missing. The whatsapp favorites/contacts list looks fine and the contact search before making a call is also identifying the contacts. The names have disappeared only from the master contacts list. I tried doing the usual restart couple of times.Also did a Nokia sync but the issue hasn't been resolved. I'm worried about restoring the backup lest the problem remains.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTwo days ago I added a gmail account to my Curve 8530. After that I noticed that I had many duplicate contacts in my address book. I went to gmail and merged the duplicates. After that, I downloaded google sync and tried to sync my contacts between gmail and my phone. After that I had some names listed 6 or 7 times. Needless to say it was quite frustrating.
I deleated the gmail account and deleated google sync. I turned off the phone and took the battery out for about a minute. After that, I installed the latest version of Desktop manager and succesfully synced my contacts with outlook on my computer. Now, I have single contacts with no duplicates. However, when I am in my contacts and select "Options," it lists my gmail account as the only option for "Contact Lists." Also, when I go to the home screen and select "Options" - "Default Services" - I do not have an option for contacts any more. It is gone. All I have there is "Calendar (CICAL):" and "Messaging (CMIME):" Where did my Contacts option go and why does it still show gmail as my contacts list?
I've tried to update to 2.1 twice (once via PC Companion and once via SE Update Service) but have had problems with the new 2.1 after each attempt. Part of contacts list was missing even after backing up data. Font display is noticeably larger. Words on various apps are cut off. Also lost the user guides. Is it possible for me to revert back to 1.6? How to try and successfully install 2.1?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. My new E72 doesn't seem to support contact groups as well as my old N73.
Once upon a time I used to prefix contact names with special characters so that I could sort by different types in the contact list.
I then got my N73 with contact groups, so I used those instead and did away with the prefixes in the names.
The N73 let me quickly switch from the full contact list to the groups tab, so that I could then select the appropriate group and find the contact within it that I wanted.
Now I've 'upgraded' to an E72, I still have Groups, but they buried in the the full contact list in alphabetical order, so I can't select them quickly.
To make matters worse, there's no use reverting back to my ol prefixing strategy, because special characters (non alphanum) now seem to be ignored as part of the collating sequence, so I cannot easily influence the order of entries.
How can I select and send messages to multiple people from my contact list. That is to say how to select multiple recipients. I have to select one by one which is quite tedious.

Context:I have 2 primary sources of contact information on my blackberry, my personal (gmail contacts) and my work contacts (via google apps). I would like to keep these contact lists separate and apart from one another, but accessible if required. I found (looking from both PC-suite and via phone's application manager) that I had new installs of Fr0MA_0x2000E2FC, the Fr0MA_installer, MDM_Client, Media DS Plugin, MMS DS Plugin, PIPS Installer,etc. Never saw them earlier.
These are new to me, but web searches show they can be associated with digital rights. However, given potential power of the Apps from a remote site I was worried.
1. If I remove them is there any risk to phone use (i.e., if needed can I reinstall them).
2. Where are they likely to have recently appeared from (another app's support, malware, T-mobile or Nokia).

I've looked around a bit on the internet, and found out that it may be due to the number of installed apps on the phone being too large. I do admit, I'm not really restricting myself with regard to that, but I also think I should not have to be. And of course, there are workarounds, but for some functions, like changing the settings of some applications, the list of installed apps is necessary.Questions:1. Can the problem be resolved?
