Recently I purchased a N8 and using "switch phone" I transferred all my data from my 5800 Xpress music to it. I noticed that all edited labels in phone "contacts" turned to the default labels. View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my N82 I can edit labels in the contacts list so that I can create labels such as 'Mobile (Smart)' and 'Mobile (Globe)' so that, when my contact has two numbers, I know which is which.When I transferred all the data from N82 to my new N97mini, the customised labels have been discarded and the two examples above have reverted to 'Mobile'. Furthermore, I cannot find an option on the N97 to recreate these customised labels.Has this very useful facility been removed from the newer handset? If so, why?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my E52 firmware to "Care DP 5.0 SEAP 033.003" and found that -:
1. Contacts Labels are not getting changed specially "Mobile" and "Telephone" which are mostly used.I have around 2500 Contacts, in previous version 033.002 i Faced errors like "Contacts : Memory full : close some applications and try again". It also says something even more weird "Pbk2ServerApp : Memory Full. Close some application and try again".
I am able change the labels of few heads like First, Last name, Company etc but not of "Mobile" and "Telephone"I also tried to downgrade the firmware using "Phoenix" and tried flashing 021.013 , 022.009 , 031.012 and 033.002 but phone remains dead will all.The most amazing thing is that the phone is also not accepting 033.002 from which I upgraded. I also tried enabling SW Downgrade option in Phoenix but no success.Now I am stuck up with 033.003 with no labels editing

Why isn't it possible to save a business name, location and phone numbers from maps and city lens directly to contacts instead of saving them as favorites on maps.
And vice versa, it would be nice to be able to view contacts locations on maps without opening the contact first and clicking on show on map.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using N86 for the past 2-3 years and this week I switched to nokia n8, I upgraded it to belle the very first day and everything seems to be working well n good except for this thing. I have above 700 songs in my music library and there is no way to mark multiple songs in the music library of nokia n8 so that I can add them to specific playlists. Is there some simpler way to do this maybe I am missing it because its my first experience with a touch phone. OR has nokia been so ignorant that this feature was not implemented in this OS, which I personally think is not possible (cos I don't expect such a thing from Nokia btw). I don't want to long press every single song and then add to playlist and repeat the same process for above 700 records it will take me a whole day I guess.

A made an absolute shambles of syncing my contacts with Outlook. First I had to change simm card so I downloaded contacts from my old sim to my BB before the Sim was voided. I am now working with the new SIM. I connected up to BB desktop manager and tried to sync contacts in a two way sync between BB and Outlook. The result on my BB is a disaster. I have up to 4 separate entries for the same contact. EG email address is one entry, home phone another entry, mobile another entry etc etc.Is there a way I can easily get atthe file, say in excel format, so I can edit and merge the contacts using my pc and then import the corrected file onto my BB?

When I open up the contact in question and then hit the edit tab I often don't see the number(s) that need to be changed or deleted. Across the top of the screen right under the "save" and "cancel" tabs I see a horizontal list of where this contact has an entry - - Google, Phone, Cloud, WhatsApp. Sometimes the phone numbers I'm looking for are in one of these but there seems to be no way to edit these as the entries are greyed out so they cannot be changed.
FWIW on the main Contacts setting I have it set up to only display Gmail linked entries.
How to get rid of incorrect phone numbers listed in any given contact entry?
Need help editing contacts. They dublicate each time I sync with itunes, deleted ones from phone reappear. Can't find master list on itunes (?) Apple computer to edit. Not using address book - so where are they coming from? I do have icloud.

the only complaint I have is related to my contact list. It seems to have immediately synced with my Facebook, which is cool and all, but I don't have the ability to merge my existing contact with a person's number to their facebook profile contact. Furthermore, when I attempt to manually add the number to the Facebook contact, I don't appear to have the ability to execute such a function. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this some sort of odd restriction placed on the phone?

The dialler just gives me phone numbers, Hangouts (which I hate!) just wants to start a conversation with people!I dl'd Contacts+ and that does the job! but I can't use that as, for some reason, once installed it sets my notification volume to zero and I can't change it!!!

But there is a difference in search option for contacts.The first phone (black in the pic) has normal old fashioned keypad which occupies the whole screen. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand the N8 a couple of days ago, and went to change the caller photo on one of my friends, so that I'd see his ugly face when he was calling me. I'm not sure how I messed this up but that now everyone in my phonebook has his face stuck to the background of the call-screen whenever I call someone or receive a call.
I tried to just rename the photo but then when I tried to make a call my phone would deny it. I simply could not make a call from it. How wasted is that?
So I rename the photo, reboot my phone, and I'm still calling everyone with his ugly face stuck to my ear.
