Nokia Navigation :: Maps And GPS On N97 Do Not Function?
Nov 23, 2011I bought a Nokia 87 (not mini) from the internet about 2 months ago. The Gps/Maps application freezes after a few seconds and I cannot exit the application. I've done all sorts of resets on the phone, removed maps and re-installed them - to no avail.

Dec 26, 2011I seem to have a problem with maps on my recently purchased E6. No matter how I access the maps function it goes straight to the 'My Position' map page. In other words it bypasses the page where you can select My Position, Drive, Walk, Favorites etc.

This would be very dissapointing, as I was led to believe by Nokia's advertising that it would be available to all the new E-series devices.There seems to be a lot of people asking this question. I press a key on the keyboard and it won't type it on the screen for 3 seconds.If I select an app it takes forever to load and if I tap a picture in the album it showed it all pixilated foe almostt 3 seconds then becomes clear.Is there any way to get it to run fast again by DEFRAG ing the drive or is there a way to clear old stuff out of its background to help it run fast again? Nokia Navigation :: While Navigation Compas Does Not Orientate
Dec 12, 2011Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.

Aug 22, 2012getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. Nokia :: E52 / Fast Battery Drainage
Feb 21, 2010I purchased a brand new E52 at amazon.de.The device is super, I've got all things running without any problems. The programs running in background on the device were:
- Push Exchange sync over WLAN (if available) or UMTS;
- VoIP Client, always registered.
The device worked about 16 hours; after wards was the battery empty. Well, I had two GSM/UMTS conversations - 5 minutes each - and I tested the OVI maps - maybe 15 minutes navigation with A-GPS.There is one more thing: the device gets pretty warm.The phone was RMAd back to amazon.de. I've got a new one: it was pretty the same.My question: am I unlucky or is the E52 generally so? Should I try once more, I mean, a new delivery?My old E51, which is unfortunately already Ebay'ed, did work with the same load at least 3 days. And, don't forget, it has a smaller battery than the E52.

Feb 2, 2010it's obvious (although nokia doesn't document or express anything) that the ever so precious and small c-drive on n97 is a fast memory sitting on a fast and wide parallel type of bus - and the e-drive or "massmemory" has substantially slower access times, perhaps sitting on a limited speed serial type of bus. i believe many of the problems we experience with n97 is access violations, timeouts, etc, is due blindly installing everything on drive e in a desperate attempt to free up memory in c
i hope someone could have factual knowledge on what type of apps that either need to or should go on c instead of the slower e?
my best guesses has prompted my to install the following on c (to avoid any issues and to speed up the device): apibridge, communities client beta installer, communities, contacts group ds plugin, energy profiler, facebook installer, facebook, gmail, gravity, hs uutiset (widget), mediads plugin, mms ds plugin, nokia custom dictionary, nokia maps, ovi store client, point & find, seconupdater, service controllers, share location agent, share location, share location widget, sms ds plugin, web browser, wordlists recognizer dll, Internet
any apps that does not need to be on c to run fast and smooth?i'm down to 28,0mb on c, but that should be enough?i'm also thinking about moving my sms to c to avoid the access errors seen so many times (at least with fw 20)?

Jun 27, 2010Just brought a new Nokia X6 for my wife and I have an odd problem.I can start the music player from the home screen and skip forward and backwards a track with no problems. But I can't adjust the volume.If I start playing music from the home screen and it's too loud or quiet, I have to open the music player itself before I can change the volume.This seems very odd to me, and I have googled it and looked all the way through the forums here for the X6 and no one else has mentioned it. Does that mean it's only me having this trouble? Or does everyone else not use the music player from the home screen?
Also, I noticed that I cant fast forward and rewind a track from the home screen. If I hold my finger on the Foward button for an extended period of time, the track continues playing as normal and then ether skips to the next one when I take my finger off, or all the player buttons disapear from the home screen when I take my finger off.Again, if I do this in the music player itself, the track will fast forward or rewind after a second or two holding the 'button' down. Anyone else tried this?
