My favourite places and routes suddenly disappeared. I did not touch the phone since the last time they were there. Especially if you know if I can retrieve from some file the gps coordinates for the favourite places, if they still exists somewhere in the memory of the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently had my phone changed from a 6720 to a C5-00 (company phone, and the company decided to change telco and the old phones were "locked").I have managed to move my microSD card across which has kept all my pictures, maps and other files. It did not move across the saved GPS places (favourites).I have been struggling to figure out how to do this (I have even tried finding likely files in the phone's memory using a USB link to the computer) and have had no success. Nokia Suite doesn't seem to acknowledge the existence of the GPS "places" (Nokia Suite 3.3.86)
How do I move these waypoints across from one phone to the other?

Next time I opened maps guides tripadvisor was no more there.Tried by restarting phone and resetting browser cache but never been able to see tripadvisor anymore.The rest of maps app is working fine and other guides like weather, lonely planet, etc etc are still there.

View 15 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that when I'm creating a route in Maps, the outcome varies dependent on how I created the route, thus using the same route parameters?
I've created the same route using different ways of creating the route, and the created route is different every time. If I create the route in Maps using the search facility, the route is different if I use an address via the people and contacts interface. And again it is different when using Drive.
I made the discovery when a suggested route made a 16.2 km de-tour on a 11 km stretch. More than a 100%. I'm now wondering if I dare to use NOKIA maps for my summer trip to Italy from Denmark.
NOKIA - make a navigation app where I can define my own waypoints. This is essential in every navigation system. optimize the app, so I can choose an alternative route - this is basic in most modern navigation systems.
Before the update i used to have a favourite contacts tab on the second home screen. After i updated the software of my (neo V) it is gone and i couldn't retrieve it. I also couldn't find out how to make favourite contacts after the update.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been creating all sorts of trails within Ovi maps.I have, in error now created at least 400 "favourite places" while trying to create a trail.These favourite places seem to be slowing down my devices, and I can find no easy way of deleting them. Other than selecting each one and confirming individually.I have deleted the places on the Ovi Maps interface within IE, but I am unable to synchronise the phone to pick up my deletions.I'm guessing I am unable to sync due to the very large number of favourite places I have on the device.
I've tried to delete OVI maps, but I'm guessing its part of the OS...Does anyone know how I can delete them through the file explorer view?
Is there any plans to add Facebook places to the Facebook application, Seeing as the Nokia E5 has GPS it can take advantage of this feature?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Drive and Maps on Lumia 710. Say I want to go to a school in a particular area. I need to search for the name of that school and only then set my location. If I try to zoom in to that area on the map, I do not see the school or other places of interest/businesses in that area. This is irritating as in google maps, if I zoom into a location, I get all the businesses/areas on interest in that area. Am I missing something?. If not, then nokia maps needs to have this feature as it is very useful.

Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOkay so my problem is that I don't know how to change the favourite text message contact, the one that pops up when you've written your message and are about to send it, in order: "Contacts", "Favourite", "Last used", "Number or email" etc.
The problem is, it isn't one of the favourites that you can add to the widget on the opening screen. If I have the fave widget on my screen, they're all empty.
Anyone know how and where I could change this contact or remove the fave alltogether?
Currently if I try to edit a route that I have saved, it erases all GPS coordinates except for the start/finish points. For example, if I want to add a description or change the name of the route, it erase all data and re-creates my map with a straight line from point a to point b.
