i own an N97 its been like 7mnths now its been working well until like since 1 week. the problem is when i get a new message it doesnt appear on the home screen as 1 new message. i have to enter the messaging via menu and then see the inbox to know that i have a new message its rly annoying can anyone plz help me?!

View 5 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this problem is specific to the Nokia X6 but this is really annoying me! I have contacted Nokia through their form as well as speaking to an advisor.
Basically, when your phone has been auto-locked, is there a way other than the ridiculous little light flashing once to alert you to a new message? I often have my phone on silent during the day and can't see this little white light (notification light/menu button). On my previous phone, the whole main screen used to light up when I received a text but I can't find a way to do that on the X6.
I thought I had found a quick fix as it seems to do it if the screen is unlocked then the backlight will go off, however, then the auto-lock kicks in and I'm back to square one again!! Please can anyone advise me on either:
1) If there is a way for the main screen to light up when you receive a message if your phone has been locked (i.e. black screen)
2) Or if not, a way to turn off the auto keyguard lock?
It's gonna drive me completely round the twist if I can't find a solution!
I just got my phone yesterday and everything seems great apart from an annoying little problem! When I am on the home screen there is a flashing message icon in the top right hand screen and when i click on it it says sim memory full - i have copied all my contacts across onto the phone. Can someone help me with how to get rid of it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedFor the past week I have received "no service" in the upper right corner of the home screen. I am using the latest IOS and latest Itunes. When I get the message, it stays until I turn the phone off and then back on. Based on apple care reps. I have restored the phone, first with a restore to last backup, and most recently to new. The problem happens randomly, but last time was 12 hours ago, and right after a sync with itunes.

When I tap on it, my desktop messages open instead?it used to work fine when I first got the phone. The only way I can write a text is to select a contact from the contacts list and then select to send that person a text message. This all works but is a pain. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. The message indicator on the home screen sometimes displays to the left of the time, and sometimes to the right. I thought at first it was an am/pm thing, but 10 minutes ago (8:41 ayem now) it was on the right, and now it just jumped to the left.
Have a msg notification on the homescreen,but when checked no new msg is there.Where do I find this.I've checked all emails,mms,sms txts.I've even deleted everything and its still there?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive a text message from a sender like American Airlines where their name/number is a random set of numbers, it will not remove itself from the home page list even if I delete it. If I select it after I have deleted it, it's just a blank message. Any ideas as to how to resolve this? The only thing that has worked for me so far is to reset the phone. I don't want to have to do that each time a message of this type comes in to my inbox.

I have no emails or messages at all on my phone anymore, and I cleared the messages from the advanced tab thingy on the desktop manager. I've done a battery pull, turned it off and waited a few minutes before turning it back on, and nothing has worked. I even tried sending a text message to my phone from my husband's, and it showed up as 2 messages on the icon, but when I deleted that new text msg, it went back down to 1 read message and is still there.

I can't find it anywhere! Also, when a text does come, the actual message quickly scrolls across the black bar at the top of the home screen..can I remove this? Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.

I bought a Nokia 5530 in Xtra Vision recently and I've been having minor problems.. First of all i was sending a message and the screen randomly went black and red lines came across the screen for a few seconds then it went back to my message .. Then I was charging it Good Friday and took it out to make a call and the screen went white as if I was turning the phone on as nokia came across the screen please help why is it doing this?

I recently got my new mini back from the local Nokia Care centre after repair (Screen broke). Before it went for repair it was perfect and did all I needed it to do. Now however I have a multitude of problems. Most of these I have resolved with a little bit of research. For some unknown reason when I try to add content to one of the three single app "windows" I get a very restricted selection of apps to add. ie Wlan scan is not on the list. If I edit one of the multi app windows, all of the apps are there, so it knows where the apps are..
Also I have another query. Is it possible to re-install the firmware as opposed to updating it ? It was on all of the previous Nokia's I had, but this does not seem to be an option with the N97 mini. I feel that my local Nokia centre is a bit short in the expertise department and I am somewhat loathe to take it back to them in case they screw it up completely.
