I just got my N97 mini friday. As soon as I got my first message, my envelop started blinking. Since then it hasn't disappeared. I've tried updating etc. Now that little blinking envelop is starting to annoy me. How do I get it to disappear?? Or should I just take it to a Nokia care point?
View 6 RepliesWhenever I try to write something in capital letters, the predictive text shuts down the whole messaging app! I just found this today trying to respond to my friend before I figured out what is wrong.To answer his question where I am, I tried to write"I'm in DC right now"
However, I only got to "I'm in D", as when I pressed C (I was using qwerty keyboard), the whole thing closed. It happened several times, and I could only respond once I turned predictive text off. Now, every time I try to just type in "DC" in the message with predictive text on, the whole thing shuts down!Since this is a NAM phone, it's still running old firmware (wonder why updates are only available to phones in some parts of the world and not other?). Did anyone else experience that? Does new firmware fix it? Or am I again the only unlucky one with the weirdest bug
His text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!

Since, I do not have a subscription for multimedia messages with my service provider, the message remains in the outbox and never gets sent.
Can someone advice why the text message converts to multimedia message? How to prevent this from happening everytime I send/forward text message to more than 10 people from the contacts list?
I am having an issue where I typed a really long text over 5 SMS pages and it turned it into a MMS and tried sending it even though I had no multimedia attachment. How can I unchange this so it only sends text messages as SMS? any options or configs?

The sms text dial pad appears in all the menu pages if the menu button (given at the bottom right corner of the phone) gets pressed a little longer. This happens during incoming call also and the dial pad wont disappear even if the back button or any other button gets pressed. Till this pad disappears, I am not able to pick an incoming call.

So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis morning I had the yellow envelope appear at the top of my storm which usually appears when I have a new email or a new msg of some sort and the (1) appears in my email address icon and in the messages icon the only problem is I do not have any new email and no new msgs.I am pretty good with my phone and have covered almost all aspects of it. I checked (and deleted) all the email I had on the phone. I then even removed the email account. I deleted everything in the "messages" folder. I checked app world, I checked all sms, mms and bb messenger. Nothing. I deleted all past and calls in case i had missed a call. The phone says empty in every place I can check. The only place I can find even close to something is under Setup and then Application Center it does show "1 New Items" which is the Myspace app. Thinking that was it I went ahead and installed that to see if that would get rid of the envelope. Nothing. And what is weird is under application center it still says Myspace was not installed .even though it was and phone rebooted. It is like it is not detecting all my msgs gone and even the install of the stupid myspace app. Is there any way to force it to remove the envelope? I have tried everything I can think of.

The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

Apart from the fact that I incidentally and but quite convincingly do NOT enjoy my new device as much as my old one I also don't understand where this message is coming from. Do I have to unsubscribe from some sort of service to start using the Nokia Flagship N97 Mini?
