I signed up here less than 5 mins ago in the hopes of finding some assistance with my problem.I have a N97, the touchscreen is not responding at all, the phone starts fine, the keypad works fine, but the touchscreen isnt working.
I live in Trinidad, so there is no recognized company or nokia trianed technicians I can send it to.I did however send it to a general phone technician, he said that the touch sensor isnt working and he needs to get a touch sensor (have to wait 2-3weeks for this as there is a lack of parts for the N97 in my country also.I only read about the "hard reset" today on these forums, I plan to retrieve the phone from the technician tomorrow and try the hard reset but any information or ideas in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.
I believe the phone may have fell down atleast once (sibling may have dropped it and didnt tell me)
my nokia e7 touchscreen sucks a lot.itz not responding for the 2nd time and creating a problem for me.I had purchased it in april n this is 2nd time i am facing same problem.really nokia sucks.no value for money paid.
Have a 5530 Xpress Music. Yesterday while I was typing a text message the touchscreen was not responding properly, inputting wrong letters or not responding at all.Today, when somebody tried calling me there was a loud beeping coming from the phone. Just now, I switched off the phone and turned it back on to hear the same beeping again.
I swapped out two LGV10's because of touchscreen issues before finding out that FB Messenger was the cause of malfunction. It would work ok for awhile after restarting the phone and then stop responding in the upper part of my screen again.Uninstalled the app.
Seems so far if the phone is locked i cant unlock it without having to pull the battery. Since lunch today i havent been able to get into my phone. Now if i get a call i can unlock it (After i missed the call )This all started today, which it has never done before.. i have tried the suggested found on the tmobile site for troubleshooting the HTC HD, but only works as long as i dont let the phone lock.Once its locked i have to wait for something to happen to unlock it, my buttons on the bottom work and turn on the phone. I have only had the phone for 1.5yrs maybe 2yrs. It running WM6.5 if that matters or helps suggest solutions.
My touchscreen was working normally; but after i got a screen protection cover i applied some pressure on the screen in order to push the air bubbles. This resulted in a dead strip on the top line of the screen that is not responding well now.
for example,Genera-Settings-Network-Enable 3G : i can't swipe it from on to off .
same with wifi : i can't change it on or off.
another example is in Safari : on the google bar when i type something & then tap & hold, i see the 3 options " Select,Select all,Paste" ...i can't press any of these 3 options.
My Iphone 3GS touchscreen has been off and on working for about a week. Now it completely will not respond. I have reset the settings, restored factory settings, turned off wifi, powered it off, let the battery did, switch the vibrate switch on and off, but nothing has worked. I really need my phone to work.
Software up to date. I am finding that my touchscreen often is not responding, particularly on certain letters when texting such as "a" & "w"...but it will also not respond when I touch the text icon to begin texting. It's driving me nuts.
I m having troubles with my new C7. Sometimes it happens, that the touch screen wont work - either have to lock/unlock and then it works maybe for 2 or 3 button presses, or wont work at all when asked to enter PIN.
I've a one yr old xperia play. It worked fine until I installed Temple run few days back. My phone would not respond to the touchscreen when I try unlocking it, but it would respond once I slide the joypad, press power button once or twice etc. But after few days, this became worse and now even the Home button became unresponsive. The current situation is that I cannot unlock my phone as the touchscreen is not responding at all.
When this problem started, I had checked the running services to ensure whether there were any malicious programs taking up CPU usage. I could not find any.
I've been having this problem from the beggining and I really do not know what is the problem. I've tried different types of rom, i've removed the sim and sd card but nothing seems to solve the problem. After pressing the power button and the cpu gets out of deep sleep, touchscreen is not responding just volume buttons and power button. I have to keep press the power button until at some point the touchscreen responds.
My SONY Z3, only 20 days old, Brand New phone had suddenly stoped responding from the top part of screen, I cant dropdown the navigation menu on POTRAIT MODE but its operative in LANDSCAPE MODE,
Made all the efforts like... Factory Reset, Software Repair through PC Companion etc...
My iphone 2g fell out of my pocket last night while I was washing hands into the wash bowl and although I wiped it dry immediately, there was some issue after a while. I didn't realise it could cause some issues. But when I received a call, the touch screen didn't function at all and I was unable to answer the call.
After spending sleepless night yesterday to fix this issue, nothing seemed to work. I rebooted, restarted, restored to factory setting, many times, nothing is working. This is a 2g phone with 3.1.2 firmware, jail broken with blackrain. But I still receive the call and the iphone is not completely dead yet. I was able to restore it back. But the "Slide to Unlock" is not functioning, In other words the bottom part of the touchscreen is not responding. But the upper part of the touch screen works, where I can power off.
I almost gave up. Any one having any suggestions. This is very frustrating. I put the iphone in a rice bag, hoping it will take away the moisture, but that didn't work either. I also tried using the hair dryer to remove the mositure, but no success either.
I recently got a 9790 and it was working fine for about a month or so however recently I've noticed that the touch seems to stop responding. I have to do a physical battery pull and then it starts working again. I thought maybe it is a software issue and upgraded to the official 7.0.0.592 yesterday however the problem still remains the same.
after just 1 month, my Aino has developed a fault. The screen is constantly illuminated, displaying the time, but doesn't respond at all. The screenlock button at the top, doesn't do anything either. I have updated the software, and done a soft reset, (not the hard reset, as this warns of losing all programs), and it made no difference. I can still use the phone if i slide it open. Rang Sony who said take it back to Car Phone Warehouse, but CPW say it will be 2 weeks til i get it back. Does anyone know of anything i could do?
Sometimes my nexus 6p screen doesnt respond to touch at all. The power and volume buttons still work as does the fingerprintscanner. Rebooting changes nothing. After a few minutes the screen starts responding again. What causes it?
I have had my Motorola Droid for about 3 months now, bought it new from an overstock dealer on ebay, sealed box and clean MEID.
The phone has been working PERFECTLY up until now, where now the touch screen suddenly does not respond at all. I can see the phone is working fine; the keyboard works, volume and power button works, I can see all the icons running, the time changes, everything. Taking out the battery never works. I did a hard reset and had the touch screen working a few times, but it's really hit or miss. It eventually reverts back to not working.
Again as I said, I have tried hard resets, safe mode, taking the battery out and letting it sit, took the SD card out, formatted the SD card, everything.
This all seems highly unusual, I have craddled this thing since i've gotten it to be sure I do not damage it. It is in pristine condition in every respect. I have no way to replace it since I am with an independent phone company.
lately i hve been noticing that the bottom part (a few millimeters above capacitive buttons) of my defy's touchscreen is not working like i can't close the notification panel using touch (hve to press back button) , select settings button in camera360, delete icon in quickpic etc..!
I even tested it using touch test app nd there also screen wasn't responding in the bottom part!!
way to correct this or would I have to take the phone for warranty??
right now only the buttons and icons on the left hand side of my screen are responding and some of the others are reacting without me even touching them. tried all the usual tricks restarting the phone etc had my iphone since jan 2011 & this is the first issue ive had with it.
Since this morning i experience the problem that when i switch my phone on i cannot use the touchscreen. No input is accepted. When i switch the phone off and remove the battery and then switch it on the problem dissapears...
The touchscreen on my N97 is causing me a headache. This is a problem that started a few weeks ago and it's only getting worse and worse.Sometimes the touchscreen just doesn't work at all, nothing happens when I try to press it. This happens both with the screen down as well as the screen up. Sometimes it helps to just flip the screen down, lock, unlock and flip it up again, sometimes I have to do this procedure many times. Sometimes it just doesn't help no matter what I do and the only solution is to restart the phone..Today I got a phone call and I couldn't answer.. it just wasn't possible to get the touchscreen active so I could. I don't know what others think but for me it's kinda vital that I can answer my phone when it rings, it's a phone. Not until AFTER the caller hung up I was able to get the screen working again.
I would like a fresh update on the your experience with N97, after la latest updates.
I am considering to buy a N97 phone, because is the only smartphone that could the following, ordered by priority:
A. Mandatory
1. simbian + gps + garmin mobile on N97 (i will install)
2. touchscreen + large screen 3,5" + good res
3. WiFi + full qwerty keyboard
4. FM + transmitter
5. bluetooth
B. Not as mandatory , but neither optional
6. Good video/photo camera + geotagging
7. large memory 32GB
C. Optional
8. battery has a good cpacity
9. 3,5 jack
I am looking forward to N97, and not mini N97 because the mini ver, doesn't have 32gb and screen is smaller 0,3" and no fm transmitter.
I took in consideration even the iphone, but the main problem is garmin, because is not available for iphone. And secondly, I want simbian, because I will use diferent software without paying/unlocking.
I am looking toward a used with warranty <4months N97 => cheaper > 40% , brand new is too expensive.
my phone fell down and the touchscreen is broken. I figured out, that the contacts are not saved on my sim-card nor on the sd-card, but internally. I want to sync it with nokia suite, but I need to activate the connection with the phone first, as I suppose. Is there another way to, maybe bypass the connection-selection-screen on the phone or automatically setting up a connection?
I've a severe problem with my Nokia C7 phone. The phone is unresponsive to any touch on the touchscreen. I tried to power off the phone, extract the battery, but when I try to power on, It shows the PIN request screen, but I can't introduce any code because the screen keyboard is not working. I tried to remove the SIM card, and power on the phone. Now it shows the home screen, but the display is again unresponsive. The physical buttons works for a while, but after a few minutes the phone hangs permanently. The only way to shut off the phone is removing the battery.
for two days a have a serious problem with my N5800 XM because of its touchscreen.Suddenly the screen was not responding anymore to commands because it looked like somewhere on the screen where the dial # is, the touch was making contact continuosly without pressing it. So I can't dial anything because I get only 9 or # , I can't access the Agenda or the Menu.
My 5230 has had the startup freeze problem twice. The first time, I figured it was a problem with the memory card or a specific program, so I did a phone reset and started over. The second time, I did some Googling and found I was not alone. I found people with all the S60v5 phones (5800, 5530, 5230, X6, N97, N97 Mini, etc) have the same problem: the phone will refuse to boot. It will freeze on the Nokia logo, before the handshake. Most users can work around the problem temporarily by ejecting the memory card before booting, but X6 users don't have that option, the poor souls.
It makes me mad to see the problem "solved" on forums by people reformatting their memory cards as if the problem was card corruption. That's not the problem. The problem, or problems, really, seem to be Nokia's.
The problem can definitely be triggered by: -Setting Nokia Messaging to store SMS/email data on the memory card. -Having more than about 40 apps/widgets on your memory card (exact limit unknown)
The problem has also been reported to be the result of: -Having apps on the memory card run at startup (Fring, etc) -Having shortcuts to apps on the memory card on the home screen
I have seen suggestions like, "just install everything onto the internal memory," but that is of course unrealistic, because if you have 40 apps on the card, there's no way they'd all fit on the internal memory. By the time I have my phone configured to my satisfaction, and I've carefully installed EVERYTHING to the memory card, I usually have only 10-15MB free on the internal memory.
The most realistic compromise, perhaps, is to do your best to: -remove apps you don't use -install small apps to the internal memory, large apps to the card -install home screen shortcut apps to the phone memory -install apps that startup on boot to the phone memory (Fring, Google Voice Search, etc)
Ultimately, this is too much of a burden for users, though, and Nokia really needs to fix this ASAP! Especially as the Ovi Store takes off and more people install more apps. I for one hope the problem becomes even more widespread, just so it embarrasses Nokia into doing something.
I hope this post helps someone, and hopefully it ties together the various pieces of information I've seen elsewhere, including other posts in this forum.
Any more specific tips would be helpful, such as: -how to tell which programs run at startup (in case they are not obvious like Fring) -a list of such known programs, besides Fring and Google Voice Search
When I connect my Lumia 610 with charger, Its touch screen gets stuck. It does not allow me to unlock the phone by sliding the wallpaper upside. When I disconnect charger then it works like anything. I had also noted that some times, the wallpaper keeps jumping and suddenly slides upside and random applications gets started. But again when I remove the charger then it works normally. Is there any issue regarding the USB connector?
